My brain doesn’t comprehend this type of fishing. I mainly fish a 4wt fly rod for 20” trout MAX and i dread having to fill the tank w $60 to drive 3hr round trip.
I worked as a mate on Lake Michigan. Our frigate birds were seaguls. Grabbing the "flat line" lures and then calling out like crazy. Next thing your know there's hundreds all around grabing riggers and any bait above three feet in depth. Ah, the joys of fishing! And I know that akward silence after an extended fight and the fish just gets off. All you hear are the engines idling. Sorry about that one.
Marlin fishing is the most frustrating thing I’ve done. I’ve never landed one but hooked two and seen plenty more hooked only for them to spit the hooks. Hard to believe it can happen after fighting and feeling they’re hooked up solid. :(
