Great choice by going with Metalcloak for protection. I have their Game Changer short arm lift and armor system in my JK. Their customer service is TOP NOTCH! I've had to replace some items that got bent/ damaged or needed to be upgraded. I've contacted them and Metalcloak assisted me on every step of my repairs when I needed them. You will not regret it
I plan on doing the armor on my JLU when they get done building it , you guys are going to enjoy the MetalCloak lift. I have put the Game changer lift on my last 2 JKs, its trouble free and quiet on the trail and rides like stock. You guys picked a great company to go with!! The Best in my opinion. Have fun,, Love the Videos
I told you guys to check put metal cloack skid plate and you guys did! cool! They made awesome stuff for jeeps! Im happy you guys when that route! Britney and kevin. You guys are my favorite channel keep up the good work! I love you guys!
Nice up grades. I was watching a video where Roman and Tommy from TFL went to the Rubicon trail and drove new JL Rubicon’s with Jeep. Tommy and Roman had video of the skid plates getting damaged where they bolt to the frame just like yours. Remember what a Jeep engineer told Roman of TFL.
Having kept up with your wheeling vids, I was pretty amazed at how NOT completely destroyed the stock skids were. You guys laid out the testing process for what those stock skids can do for us flat landers. Just don’t forget to take into account the weight you removed with stock stuff vs. the upgrades, probably will be even more pleasantly surprised at how little the added weight will actually be, well worth the peace of mind the Metalcloak skids give. NOW GO BEAT THE NEW STUFF UP!
Excited about the MC lift for you guys. I had a TJ with their 3.5 gamechanger and my current JK has the 3.5 inch gamechanger. Its the best bolt on kit Ive ever experienced as far as the ride and performance. I also currently run the same Patagonia 38s. You guys are gonna have a blast on the rubicon trail.
Daaaamn! I live 3 miles from Metal Cloak. If I'd known you guys were coming, I'd a bought you lunch! Love your channel! There's an off road skills course 15 minutes from Metal Cloak at Prairie City OHV Park. Might be a good place to do a shakedown run before the Rubicon. Enjoy NorCal!
Bryan C Awesome! And yeah, we’ll have to start giving more heads up on exact locations when we travel (although in this case, the MetalCloak install was sort of a surprise)! 😊
How does MetalCloak handle the cooling issues? I know with all those plates under there they are retaining heat. Especially here wheelin in the Az summers.
I love the guys down at Metalcloak. They make some amazing products, and offer some of the best customer service that I have ever had. I don't know if its a good thing that they are only an hour south of me though. They are really good at seperating me from my money. I also got to run the Rubicon with them at the beginning of August.
Love your channel, I have a JK Rubi! I follow all your videos from here in Australia. Idea for next video.... When you head out onto the trails it would be great to see a video of your camp setup and what you take when you overland. Keep up the good work!
That should have been your first upgrade, lol. I really like the diff skid plate, not many people use them, they think the heavy duty diff cover is enough, good idea ! Kevin, you’re a lucky man, my wife would throw a shit fit if I beat on my Jeep like that...lol
Sweet upgrade! I'm soooooo jelly! These skids are on my list for my 2 door JK Rubicon, unfortunately for me buying those now would ban me to the couch by the wifey for at least a month.
Love it! Really hope MetalCloak makes this one for the 2 -Door soon!! I'm (im)patiently waiting. The bad news for me is that you guys just keep costing me money by adding these mods to my list!
Lol probably the first time Metalcloak allowed something with Rough Country products on it in there shop. 😂😂😂. Can’t wait to see the new lift kit installed.
Nice video. It would have been nice to put the skid plates on before you mashed up the bottom of the JL. Lol. I can't wait to see it with the lift kit. Cheers.
I can understand other model Jeeps not having skids but the Rubicon should really have this as a factory option. It seems unrealistic to offer a jeep with insane out of the box capability and not expect people to hit the belly and drag the rear bumper.
Wow I just asked you this question on another video. Tell me when you took off the gas tank skid did you have to support the gas tank? I just ordered a rough country skid for mine (the salt took mine) I live close to the beach, so I fish a lot. It has been a long time since I have seen the Stepchild naked LOL.
Kevin.... what's up? You guys used to represent the everyday people now you're going all high end. I get it you guys have a ton of viewers and these people can't give you guys free stuff fast enough.
Any idea if its easy enough to change the oil after the plates are installed? I see there a hole cut out for you to do so, but I can see it being super messy when it all shoots out over the skid plates!
Billy Philippou Yes, just a personal choice! We may paint it down the line as it gets more scratched up, but we thought it looked pretty awesome as is for now. Haha
If you look on the website, it’s sold as raw metal, but yours looks like there is some what of a coating on it. Can you advise if yours came with a protective coating on it. Or did you guys apply a protective coating to yours. Thanks.
Finally bought and installed the armor from MetalCloak. Question. Did you notice a noise that seems to be a low hum or vibration that resulted after you installed? It is faint but seems like it’s there for my JLUR. I bought the MetalCloak on your advice and look forward to taking it out but not sure if that noise is an install issue or if a vibration that results from having that much metal under there.
It looks great, but I’m wondering why you guys got it done now, after all the wheeling you did. Did Metalcloak offer you a discount to try their product?
NemeanLion We loved the idea of seeing what the JL was capable of stock! Once it was obvious we reallyyyy needed some skids, we reached out to MetalCloak
Fair enough. You only had to saw a couple of bolts anyway. The Rubicon Trail will be a good test, provided the install video was prerecorded before you took your trip.
Another Great Video 👍 Quick questions are these skid plates heavy ? Does this affect center of gravity at all ? I own 2010 JK Unlimited. It looks very nice. Can you feel any difference in the drive ? Thanks...
Very nice again! Would it have been a good idea to protect what you already damaged against rust? You will certainly not remove this "protection shield" to do so ... But looks very good and will certainly do a good job. I'm very exited to see how this will be working on Rubicon trail! And - of course - so many congratulations for more than 18k subscribers!
And no underbrush snagging underneath the car then catching alight from the hot exhaust system. Which seems to have happened before with catastrophic results Thanks for this upload :).
Hey guys. Between 3 and 4 minutes you took out the OEM pieces from the JL. What are those parts called? I think one is the gas tank skid. What is the other part? I ended up following your advice and bought the. Metal cloak skids and want to auction off the parts I took off since it hasn’t been damaged to offset my costs. Need to know what they are called. Thx for your help. Your vids are great.
I forgot to ask a real question on my hilarious rant earlier . Will you guys be taking extra tools Incase you have to remove a panel on the trail for whatever emergency reason ? It’s always a good idea 💡
You will not regret it
Who dislikes any of these videos? Great video Kev and Britt. Great product as well. Keep em coming. You guys need your own tv show.
Probably the Engageeeeer that said it didn't need skid plates.
Great looking skid system. That will be a great set of protection skids to have for the future
I’ve got the Metal Cloak 2.5” overland elite and it’s the best lift I’ve ever had .your gonna love how much flex you’ll have.
Amazing and makes the JL underneath look so much better than stock, not to forget the protection it now offers the JL.
Sweet skid system!!! Metal Cloak did a great job on the design of this system.
MetalCloak makes some fantastic products. Their fenders and bumpers are so badass.
I told you guys to check put metal cloack skid plate and you guys did! cool! They made awesome stuff for jeeps! Im happy you guys when that route! Britney and kevin. You guys are my favorite channel keep up the good work! I love you guys!
Nice add to the underside of your jeep can't wait to see you try this out on the trail.
Nice update on the jeep. At 3:22 looks like interesting way to catch bolts.
Nice upgrade. I am seeing MetalCloak mentioned or used a lot recently. Looks like they have great products.
Those spandex are out of this world!!!! Honestly...she could sell me ice in Iceland!!! Oh yeah... Jeep is kicking too!!!
Having kept up with your wheeling vids, I was pretty amazed at how NOT completely destroyed the stock skids were. Bryan C Awesome! And yeah, we’ll have to start giving more heads up on exact locations when we travel (although in this case, the MetalCloak install was sort of a surprise)! 😊
LOL, you named her "Stepchild" I love it! Great choice on MetalCloak!
Nice! Good call on the Metalcloak. I'm just going to believe that you took my advice when I suggested Metalcloak to you last month, haha.
Right on! You two need the armour lol. I'm pumped to see the up coming videos! Keep em' coming!
Saw a JL parked in the shade two days ago, that fan started whirring and all I could think of was, Lite brite wasn't kidding those fans are loud af!
How does MetalCloak handle the cooling issues? I know with all those plates under there they are retaining heat. Especially here wheelin in the Az summers.
Love to see an update on how it’s holding up
This will be my first upgrade along with those diff covers, you gotta have protection in all aspects of life
I love the guys down at Metalcloak. They make some amazing products, and offer some of the best customer service that I have ever had. I don't know if its a good thing that they are only an hour south of me though. They are really good at seperating me from my money. I also got to run the Rubicon with them at the beginning of August.
You guys made the right decision to go with Metalcloak! I have the same Gold Edition Undercloak system on my Jeep JK absent the diff cover skid
Love your channel, I have a JK Rubi! I follow all your videos from here in Australia.
Idea for next video....
When you head out onto the trails it would be great to see a video of your camp setup and what you take when you overland.
Keep up the good work!
Simon Patchy That’s actually not a bad idea!
That should have been your first upgrade, lol. I really like the diff skid plate, not many people use them, they think the heavy duty diff cover is enough, good idea ! Kevin, you’re a lucky man, my wife would throw a shit fit if I beat on my Jeep like that...lol
Hard working and beautiful!!! Love the content.
Awesome father and daughter project.
Sooo jealous. Hopefully my next upgrade. MetalCloak has some of the best upgrades available.
Sweet upgrade! I'm soooooo jelly! These skids are on my list for my 2 door JK Rubicon, unfortunately for me buying those now would ban me to the couch by the wifey for at least a month.
I love it. Glad you decided to get a full skid system. Now let’s see that lift kit in action. We all know that is the next video.
of course the lift kit comes in after the new skids are on. LOL!!! Great work guys! keep it up!
Love it! Really hope MetalCloak makes this one for the 2 -Door soon!! I'm (im)patiently waiting. The bad news for me is that you guys just keep costing me money by adding these mods to my list!
I’m only a little bit sorry. Haha 😊
Lol probably the first time Metalcloak allowed something with Rough Country products on it in there shop. 😂😂😂.
Can’t wait to see the new lift kit installed.
Beautiful! Nice skid plates too
Nice! A lift! Metalcloak one of the best at making quality parts! you’ll be pleased!
Been waiting on the JL Undercloak video!!!
Question... Are y'all going to leave it gold or paint it???
Please tell me you’re going to be posting more throughout the trip
I can't explain why this video brought so much joy to me!
Love the tights
I can’t wait to see what you do next.
That's a good looking setup, hopefully it's as functional
Aaron Spicer We’ll know soon enough, but I have little doubt it’ll be a huge improvement over the stock pieces
@@LiteBrite yall are going to miss that cross member though😂😂😂😂
Beautiful! Nice skids too
They look awesome!
Looks awesome, be curious to see what impact on your loft clearance will be impacted with the extra weight.
Those things were a life saver!!
Yea you needed them 😂
Very nice ... that was really cool of them !
Nice video. It would have been nice to put the skid plates on before you mashed up the bottom of the JL. Lol. I can't wait to see it with the lift kit. Cheers.
I also like rusty off road skids, have an extra skid for the muffler resonator
Looks good. Functional, too.
That is awesome, I can’t wait to see how this rig turns out! Awesome vids keep it up👍👍
Now that you’ve got proper armour, this would be a good opportunity to go back to the more efficient stock pumpkin on that back axle...
I can understand other model Jeeps not having skids but the Rubicon should really have this as a factory option. It seems unrealistic to offer a jeep with insane out of the box capability and not expect people to hit the belly and drag the rear bumper.
Awesome 💚👌👌👌 waiting to see the lift on that JL 😎
Looks great I wish I could have the metal cloak skids for my JK
Looks awesome! Now you just need a proper tire carrier...LOL. Love watching your vids!!!
I literally know nothing about cars bc I think they’re boring but you make it fun
Finally no more cringy scraping! Metal cloak to the rescue
No more awesome u turns on a rock
Juan Gonzalez hahahahaha hell yea
that bolt couldn't have landed anymore perfect lol so how happy are you with the skid plates
cant wait for the next vid on the lift kit
Liked before the vid even started... And of course, did not disappoint. Nice under armor! Ready for that trail!
Well rather late then never - at least you had fun along the way! Hopefully, this set will protect the underside of the JLU in style
That is an amazing looking kit! I want!!
More weight underneath prob will help with a lower center of gravity
Great Job! Looks Simple and Metalicious! I would say great investment!
I love those rim great choice👌👌.. Another great video
Jeep should watch this and learn from their mistakes. You two have a great channel started. I actually watch your whole videos on the jeep.
Yeah I knew that a new long arm kit was coming along with the beadlock wheels. You guys replacing that rear driveshaft soon?
Kevin.... what's up? You guys used to represent the everyday people now you're going all high end. I get it you guys have a ton of viewers and these people can't give you guys free stuff fast enough.
Sick upgrade. Now go out and give it hell.
Any idea if its easy enough to change the oil after the plates are installed? I see there a hole cut out for you to do so, but I can see it being super messy when it all shoots out over the skid plates!
Kevin with the hammer reminds me of a documentary I saw long ago in high school about apes using simple tools. LoL 😂
i was hoping you guys would get that system!
It looks nice, strong and well built. But, although it is zinc-coated for the rust, why is it not painted? was it your choice?
Billy Philippou Yes, just a personal choice! We may paint it down the line as it gets more scratched up, but we thought it looked pretty awesome as is for now. Haha
If you look on the website, it’s sold as raw metal, but yours looks like there is some what of a coating on it. Can you advise if yours came with a protective coating on it. Or did you guys apply a protective coating to yours. Thanks.
MUDTRAIL It comes with Zinc coating!
Is that a Dewalt battery on a Milwaukee impact???
Finally bought and installed the armor from MetalCloak. Question. Did you notice a noise that seems to be a low hum or vibration that resulted after you installed? It is faint but seems like it’s there for my JLUR. I bought the MetalCloak on your advice and look forward to taking it out but not sure if that noise is an install issue or if a vibration that results from having that much metal under there.
Safety Glasses Kevin !!!

Another Great Video 👍
Quick questions are these skid plates heavy ? Does this affect center of gravity at all ? I own 2010 JK Unlimited. It looks very nice. Can you feel any difference in the drive ? Thanks...
Great company. I went with Rock Hard for my Recon, but MC is great also.
looks like a great addition to your ride- can I ask who makes the wheels ?
corrhall1 They’re by MB
Very nice again!
Would it have been a good idea to protect what you already damaged against rust? You will certainly not remove this "protection shield" to do so ...
But looks very good and will certainly do a good job. I'm very exited to see how this will be working on Rubicon trail!
And - of course - so many congratulations for more than 18k subscribers!
Wolfgang Nebel We sprayed most of the bottom with either clear paint or black paint prior to driving out to California! 😊
Good to read this, thanks a lot!
And - as always from my side: Keep going on the most refreshing channel I ever found on YT!
And no underbrush snagging underneath the car then catching alight from the hot exhaust system. Which seems to have happened before with catastrophic results Thanks for this upload :).
lolol nice space pants i think i seen Uranus in them haha! sorry had to.nice work on the jeep💪🤘
Wow, Very nice!!
I need that! Thanks for posting.
Rig looks good nice upgrade.😁👍

Awesome armor
How are the Patagonias doing on tread life?
Good to know, thanks
I knew it!!!! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻😉 You rock guys
Hell yes great Mod...
I forgot to ask a real question on my hilarious rant earlier . Will you guys be taking extra tools Incase you have to remove a panel on the trail for whatever emergency reason ? It’s always a good idea 💡
Outstanding !
What did the two of you decide as to your next vehicle acquisition? Gonna wait for the new Bronco perhaps?!? Hmmm? 🤞
Alan Gammons It’s a secret!!!
what are they made of? looks great
Conscientious Observer Steel with zinc coating
Now that's some carnage
Awesome choice!! I heard that the skid plates help prevent frame shift..
