Monica excellent points. I absolutely love your channel. My wife and I have been together almost 18 years. In year 15 she recovered repressed memories of past trauma from a previous relationship when she was 18-20 years old. She has been a bit detached but she needs to heal and it’s not me and I get that. She is in therapy and needs a little spaces to separate the past from current time. Yes we have to build up and take care of ourself.

My first wife was like this. When we got married she was 18 and I was 20 and it lasted for 3 years. She would find problems with me and I would shut down and go into my office. I had a small business at the time and focused on that. She would act out when she felt like I was avoiding her, which I was. She would cut up my family photos, throwing plates, my tennis shoes, etc. There were some funny moments like when she threw a plate of nachos (my dinner) and it missed and slid down the wall.
It escalated to her striking me with things and one night after an argument I went to bed early and woke up to her straddling me and striking me in the face. I realized that I couldn't stay with her after that because I never knew when she would attack me, since she did it even when I slept.
Several years later I met my second wife. We've been married for 23 years. We have had some big fights but we have learned to avoid walking away angry. And I'm happy to say I never have hit a woman.

Hey Monika, my wife is going through that peri menopause stage and it's hard for me because
we had an emotional disconnect and now this. She has shut down and is avoiding me. BTW we are not living together for just over a month because she wanted space but when she feels the Connection she runs and avoid me even more. It's very frustrating

Also try to find out if there is something in the dynamic that you are contributing to that she feels she needs space from? THis might be your inroad

You should stop doing whatever it's been that you have been doing that pushed them away.

Yes that's why it's key to find out what that is if not already aware.
