I commend you for taking the leap and leaving your job to working for yourself full-time. Content Creation and marketing is a pretty tough market to break into because it's pretty saturated, but you're making it work. That's pretty awesome 😊

Hello Debbie, I admire your content and passion to your work. I have really wanted to pivot to content management but it seeming hard to understand what this role encompasses. Please any advice you can give to a newbie in this field. BTW I'm also a Software Engineer but have passion for writing.

Hey, thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
So, as a content manager, you could also have a strategy component to it where you develop a content strategy for your clients, or it could solely involve you implementing a content strategy and the different moving parts for your clients. Some content strategists and managers choose to focus on specific niches and platforms. For myself, I do look after building content strategies for my clients as well, and I focus on evergreen content. I do a lot of content writing, writing for websites, video scripting, SEO work, and keyword research. I also do a lot of work with Pinterest. With your background, one idea would be to offer content-writing services and blog-writing services for tech companies. You could start there and grow your services over time. You could also network and reach out to agencies offering writing services, and you can do the same with tech companies. One of the ways I find a lot of writing clients is by using a job search platform like Indeed. I then define the search by contract/freelance. UpWork has also actually been really good to me. I hope this helps. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to following you on your journey!
