Platteville, Colorado - Sentry 16V1T-B (High Pitched) - Siren Test 9/5/2020

- CoSirenCars presents a video of a Sentry 16V1T-B sounding for the monthly test in Platteville, Colorado. This Sentry is relatively new, which would explain the odd high pitch.
This Sentry is located next to the dog park in the Platteville Community Center. Platteville and Gilcrest (which is a couple miles north) test their sirens on the first Saturday of each month around 10 a.m., weather permitting. - Наука
Sentry: I wanna be a modulator
People: *turns chopper level to over 9,000*
Nice video! That thing is extremely high pitched!
That one is up at the ballfirleds/dog park that one is the newist one it was added last year
Very nice!
Nice!
sounds like t 128
This is my closest active siren to where I live. Longmont took down their ATIs with the rare yeow signal in 2017 and there's an SD-10 in Hygiene but who knows if it's active or not. Erie, Lafayette, and Boulder all have boring Whelens. Too bad Longmont is in the middle of a dead zone lol.
It seems the high tone goes higher than the low tone instead of staying at the same pitch. very dischordant.
Do you use a Nikon Coolpix-B500?
Are You Aware Of The Model 5 On The Far South Side Of Town? And Do You Know If It Activates At All?
Great catch! Do you know if the sirens are tested year round?
They are tested April through September
@@CoSirenCars Thanks for the info! Most CO towns seem to do that I’ve noticed (Limon, Sterling, etc.)
@@stormandrailfan96I know this was a year ago my town tests yearly sooo yeah. It’s in pueblo btw they are modulator 8032B’s.
First one I’ve seen high pitched
Well it is a new siren jus got added last year and the town only test march-July some times August
Thank you for capturing this!
Apparently two motors, each driving one rotor. Such is why they are not "in tune". Sounding ~C# at full rpm.
The high-pitch siren should have twice the number of megaphones.
Better to produce two different notes a minor third, or perfect fifth apart. They then produce a resultantone
which an octave does not. Hearing impaired may detect one or the other note. If impaired athis low C#, they may also not hear the high C#.
The siren is designed to be single tone. Due to the nature of DC motors, they don't run at the same speed.
@@kansasclocksandsirens Thank you. If two motors, they should make it dual-tone but not octave tones.
At peak speed my 2t22A sounds D5 and F5.
(Wish it were a 2t11A. 5/6 so the peak would be notes D4 and F4.)
But DC sirens will operate when power goes out. The 2t22A is three phase, so just one phase out will not allow the siren to start.
Is that model five that's near there still up?
They took them all down along with the EOWS 612
@@CoSirenCars Where did the EOWS used to be
It used to be at the Colorado Wire Cloth business in the center of town

@@FemboyAvgeek In the tornado mod the siren sounds basically the same as this.
I do not like these dual motor Sentries. They sound horrible.
Thank god I’m not the only one!! These are so stupid...
YOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUYYOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUYOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUYOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUHHH
But they have more output than single motor 1t!
