  • What was G-d thinking? Despite the efforts of Socrates, Spinoza and Schopenhauer, are we any closer to the answer? In this lecture, we cut straight to the chase and explore in plain English some of history’s enduring mysteries. What is the purpose of our existence? Why did G-d create the world? And what does it mean to me?
This lecture was delivered at the 8th annual National Jewish Retreat by Rabbi Shais Taub

I am not Jewish but this is a great teaching and this is why I appreciate Judaism and I enjoy listening to these teachings from different rabbis. I am a Christian Ortodox practicant and I love a lot the books of Old Testament.

This message really make tears in my eyes, to know that HaShem desires us to have an intimate relationship with him. It jus makes me realize how much he loves us. And the end of the message as well.🥲May HaShem draw us to him by loving him first. Amen 🤗😇😍Shalom to all of you teachers of Torah.

It have never come to my mind, about this question of If, HaShem God,if He needed to create, or the need of not create.😃🤷🏻‍♀️. Until now that I came across with this video. Shalom everyone. May HaShem’s love fill your hearts and your mind with positive thoughts. May Yisrael be blessed forever and ever.😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I am not Jewish but this is a wonderful example of why I appreciate Judaism and I enjoy listening to these teachings. There are so many religions, most I would guess, where to even posit this question is taboo. And here is it discussed not only openly but in a wonderfully human, funny, and practical way. Interesting too that this question is as well the 'biggie' of physics--why is there anything at all? Thanks!

I just had this discussion with a young nephew this week, who asked me why G-d made us. Our answers were similar, but my basic answer to him was “Because of His Love.” Wouldn’t the word Love be better than lust, in this matter?

question: often times when somebody has a a desire for something it is because he/she lacks something, does HaShem lack something that he needed to create us? Furthermore, lusting, love, and wanting are human emotions, how can HaShem feel an emotion?

God decided to create, and more over create humans, so we could appreciate all his beauty and love through them. 😍🤗👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Why humans are always questioning God? 🤔

Also, when we experience emotions or desires, we are being acted upon by another force. For example, our neurotransmitters, something we saw or heard, or another person. Are you saying that HaShem is being acted upon by another force?

I REALLY BELIEVE THAT ONLY JEWISH RABBI COULD ASK THAT QUESTION, THE CHRISTIAN, AND ISLAMIC SCHOLARS WOULDN''T DO IT BECAUSE THEY ARE IN DOGMA(RELIGION CAGE) ALL THEIR LIFE I'M NOT JEWISH, BUT IM IMPRESSED WITH JEWISH THINKERS AND THEIR FREEDOM FROM DOGMA TO ASK REAL QUESTIONS, THANK YOU,

I am non-Jew but believe that God created all of us. I also have a romantic relationship with God. And that love is seen through you and me since if we are in the image than we love our image. You are my opposite that I love and identify with. That means I am you and you are me. We are ONE 💗 God's love is deep.
