- I cover the walls in woven mat and Bac-Bac and burn and age wood for the windows while going over techniques I've learned along the way
woven mats and Bac-Bac from www.amazuluinc...
Japan Paint from www.ronanpaint...
Have you tried adding a material as a backing material to help hold it together?
Amazing video Tom! Could really see what you were doing and thanks for explaining your thought process. Also I will definitely use the steel wool tip on my next project.
Looking amazing!!
Need to pick your brain tommy! For the bamboo weaving board, i'd like to stain it a bit to get closer to Lauhala matting color... How would you go about this if you were me? Appreciate your help, bud! Mahalo!
are you meaning more of a checker board of slightly different colors? or an over all warmer brown? these panels will take a stain. but i would definitely do it on a sample piece 1st. or just use Lahaula! lol
@@TyphoonTommy checker board of slightly different colors. It’s impossible to find Lauhala right now! :( Forever Bamboo told me they have a 3-4month delay on restock. It’s killing me.
This is awesome. I just bought a house near Kissimmee and will be doing a tiki room soon. Stoked to find your videos!!
Awesome! Let me know if ya need any help!
@@TyphoonTommy Thanks, man! I'll do it! Looking forward to seeing how Mananui pans out.
I'm starting to tackle the window in our Tiki room next week - so glad I caught this video today. I was going to pull the marble sill and replace with stained lumber, but the burning is going to be so much better.
