Two things. 1) About overworld. I have been play International in overworld since 2.8 and haven't noticed any issues. 2) About Nilou comparacent. I own both of them with their optimal teams, and while, in AoE, they both destroy everything (Nilou even herself, lol), in ST, they feel very different. Just wanted to mention intergrassional is replacing xiangling with nahida. That way kazuha can trigger burgeons with his already high em, and still have childe vape his burst. Essentially trading xianglings damage for burgeon, nahidas personal off field damage, and nahidas em buff.
ANOTHER BANGER VIDEO I can’t justify pulling him. I like the idea of a broken national comp but knowing myself, I think I’d rather have a more smooth brained option like ayato.
Here are my thoughts on his constellations C1 - Its mid. 20% decrease on e skill cooldown doesnt help that much. It shouldve been 30-35% to make it valuable C2- Is garbage. Energy proc only works if you defeat an enemy plus childe has no energy issues if his ER is above 110% C3 and C5 - Good cons increase e skill and burst level which increase his riptide dmg C4 - procs riptide flas on enemies every 4 seconds and it can proc automatically. Its good for electro-charged and dendro reactions but it will nerf childe international dmg due to a separate riptide effect C6 - Its actually good quite probably the only constellation that is acceptable. TLDR: If you main childe international, Stop at C0 or C1.
Childe is with the same place with Nilou. They are best at one thing but that one thing which is International is really strong since his debut. They're other other comps like Intergrassional. HB Childe could work as well. I even made him as Support Childe
That's exactly what i said in another comment, to make a great dps means to make them specializing in one thing that they do better than others instead of being a jack of all trades master of none like some characters
*I know*, That common knowledge. I was just pointing out at the fact that people really don't know what to call him then lol@@ilikepointlessinternetargument
@@dojiz7242 That because "Childe" is only in the english version from what I know. In my version, french, he is only called Tartaglia. Since his codename is "The young sir" instead of "Childe"
I will say this his burst never gets old, mine at C0 hits 179k and it’s just as satisfying every time, and that’s the ranged version the mele one hits harder.
I'm really Glad that he is my first limited Character since he never disappointed me. The beidou taser team and then discover the international team for Clearing abyss since then
He's been my main for the longest time. In the overworld I loved using him with Ayaka, Raiden and Qiqi. Now I moved on to dendro with Kokomi but he's the first 3crowned character I have and I love him sm.
I can't believe how strong International is to this day. I'm still not brilliant with him, but he's literally one of my best units just at C0 with the battlepass bow! I keep the Skyward harp on Ganyu, but I don't use her much for abyss.. He's not even at his strongest and he kills it. Absolutely love my Childe 👌❤️
I think the best guide on youtube for Childe is the perfect rotation guide from Acqua Genshin. Childe being technical is not an exageration. He is likely the most technical character in the game when using his teams. In fact the perfect rotation guide does not even cover everything like optimal movement based on enemy to get maximum Xiangling vapes utilizing clockwise amd counter-clockwise movments.
This guy doesn't even have Childe. Probably never played him. That's why he says it's a chore. His guide here is just him parroting the same thing other content creators have been saying for years.
I've had Childe since 3.1 and after all this time I'm still amazed how good International is. Whenever there's an aoe situation in spiral abyss I use International and boy, do they deliver! Childe's hydro application is the best in the game, aoe or not (pyro lector doesn't stand a chance) and the more enemies there are, the more damage Childe does (a cloud of small numbers that add up). If you get the rotation right, as soon as he uses his ranged burst everything is deleted. People are saying he doesn't have other teams. He does - Intergrassional (Nahida replaces Xiangling), taser, Nilou bloom, hyperbloom, mono hydro - the issue is, none can compare with literally the most broken team in the entire game, International. So of course everything pales in comparison! Childe is the ONLY character with quadratic scaling thanks to his riptide, add vape to that and the results are insane.
Then you might as well say he only has one team, because that's the only one that matters on the 12th floor. The way you put it makes his other comps look like a mere lip service.
@@lazyremnant380 His other teams are good, but in certain situations. Where as International is good no matter the content. This is also why this team has been meta for years now, it doesn't have restrictions.
Was originally wanting to play taser more than international cuz it looks cooler. But then i tried both and international is more satisfying. U should try both and pick the one u want more
He was my second limited five star, and I absolutely adore his playstyle. He definitely acts more like a solid hydro driver. I tempted to build an EM variant of him for Nilou for funsies.
YOU SHOULD. i'm planning on getting Nilou whenever she next comes and i wanna try that as well. To be completely honest, a few clips of players' Childe-Nilou teams (the bloom numbers went CRAZY) are what finally convinced me to use my guarantee on Tartag. It's only been like 2 weeks, and i love him sm. I use Inernational in abyss and it clears everything. His hyperbloom variant is amazing in overworld. All teams i try him in are just really satisfying for me.
I already have, Kokomi, Yelan, Nilou and Ayato. My support and dps needs for the element are already met. I personally like Ayato more because he's more versatile. Though do fully understand that he doesn't do as much damage as Childe in Childe's best team.
I have him and he's partially built. I have always hesitated because I know playing him well can be difficult and I do have medical related coordination issues. But I'll look up some rotation guides and see if I think I can pull it off. Thanks for another fantastic video!
I’ve been using Childe in a Nilou Bloom team (Childe/Nilou/Baizhu/Nahida) for the past few months and honestly I much prefer it over his International team these days simply because it’s largely not burst dependent hence I’m not restricted by energy requirements. Also he becomes alot less technical in a Nilou team since you can basically just go ham and immediately get the desired results. I usually jump between Nilou-Childe or a Nilou-Alhaitham bloom team depending if I want a more AOE or ST focused Nilou bloom team and they both work amazing.
Interesting team options, but regarding er, you should keep in mind that Childe's range burst is straight up better due to the amount of energy it saves (if you play Childe right, you're fine with just 135 er on him)
@@baronvonwhinsectown2454Yep. That’s exactly how I do it. I have 145 ER just on substats alone and pretty much exclusively use the Ranged Burst. It’s super fun especially since Baizhu pretty much renders the self bloom damage obsolete. You start with the party in full HP and you end it with Full HP no matter how intense and crowded it gets👌
Is he personally versatile? Not at all but internat is amazing. However, he frees up XQ and Yelan for other teams so you have a lot of options for your second team. Also, the complexity of his kit and the international rotation are a big part of what make him fun to me. Some of the other top teams are just so simple and boring. Great character overall
not really since dendro came out and he is from thy hydro elements he does also fit in a lot of dendro teams, and what have we learned from dendro? more application = better. SO YES!!! he is personally versatile whenever you need a lot of hydro, wich you need in most meta teams
He's definitely usable in dendro but I think there are several better options since he kinda has to be onfield to have amazing hydro application. Fortunately, running him on international leaves XQ, Yelan, Kokomi, Nilou etc free for dendro teams. @@justgeo6889
@@justgeo6889a little correction: Strong application is needed in dendro teams but in bloom teams, u need a strong but not too much hydro application. Childe applies too much hydro that so many seeds get created and who are our fastest dmg appliers? Kuki and raiden for hyperbloom and Thoma for burgeon. They are not fast enough to catch up with childe's hydro app and too many blooms get created. There is a limit of 2 hits per target every certain period of time for both bloom dmg so creating too many blooms will not benefit the team but worsen it. Also this will be mitigated if u use Dori lol hits every 0.4 sec
@@laughingd4518 but theres only a certain ammount of bloom cores that can coexist and its not like there going places so how is that a dmg loss if raiden can just trigger as much as she could anyway
@@justgeo6889 He technically functions in multiple teams, but those cooldowns are a problem, and he falls off relative to your other options (Ayato and Kokomi).
I would like to clarify here that Venti is not a good Kazuha substitute for Childe teams, since Venti's burst often lifts the enemies a bit too high for Childe's normal attacks. You also definitely want to level his normal attacks, since his skill's melee mode is mainly for the riptide effect. When he's using his swords, the damage is considered normal attack damage
Don’t worry, you can use sucrose for International, and she works about as well as kazuha thanks to her massive EM share, c6 bonus(if you have that), and thrilling tales. EDIT; If you’re using sucrose, make sure to look up a guide on how to guoba swirl with her.
yeah like the rest said sucrose works well. I suck with sucrose and she is built worse than my kazuha and it was only like 10-15s difference on my abyss floor 12 clears when I was testing on the previous abyss
If in melee stance NA, CA x3 is enough to fit in a 10 second window to manage your cooldowns properly. With experience you can feel if you're staying in melee stance for too long
That's right. The key is really experience. I didn't get his playstyle when I got him earlier but I tried to research about him more and his teams and I'm really having fun
I want to say that I actually disagree with the idea that hes annoying to play in the overworld. On the contrary being able to stay on him as long as i want to finish off pesky enemies in overworld is actually a huge plus. The flexibility and the fact a large portion of his damage is via elemental skill requiring no energy is excellent. I often use him as on field hyperbloom or taser driver or just group with kazuha and let childe go ham. Wouldn't recommend international in overworld. Excellent for clearing many domains and bosses tho.
Now with Natlan, a Childe Taser Team with Beidou, Cinder City Ororon, and VV Kazuha/Sucrose/Venti would probably be crazy, even before bringing in possible weapon buffs.
Is he really that hard to play? I am fine with learning rotations because some teams like hyperbloom get kind of boring after awhile because you dont have to think much, just keep up all elements you need.
Some people get really muddled with his long stance cooldown, I personally pulled childe on his first banner and have since mastered him but I gave my friend a run on my account and she got really really confused.
International really isn't that hard to learn at all. I got the gang of it after 1 massanori run tbh. Just make sure you're not using childes skill longer than 8-9 seconds
Not really, you just have to watch his cooldowns and memorise a few complex rotations and maybe some animation cancels but it's not rocket science. Shouldn't take you more than an hour to get all of it down.
i dont think so, killing the enemies is easy with international, but you get addicted to doing it satisfyingly - its like a puzzle what sort of "rotation" you can execute in each chamber to get satisfying clears, but its still relatively unga bunga (well how i play it xd) with insane optimizations if you are ever interested. its quite a quick swappy team (btw childe = international to give my message context)
Thanks for the info, this was really helpful since I do find myself gravitating towards more quickswap teams and I find childe really satisfying. He should be a must pull for me for that and completing my international team and double hydro hyperbloom for abyss.@@voeda8830
I love him. If I want braindead gameplay (or give my account for some time to my boyfriend cause I'm busy) I use ayato. If I want to have fun I use Childe. 1 tip for C0 childe: if you can, burst and switch characters at 8-9sec burstcooldown. Your cool down will not be that long this way.
Im an ed sheeran main since 2021 and that's still not changing. I have yoimiya, itoo and ayaya as mains too but nowadays it's best girl yoimiya and ed sheeran taking turns.
When you do get him, please please test him with burngeon in that team. I am most interested to see that result because this most recent abyss I have been using burngeon for 2nd half, although his rotations may be restricted w/ how his skill works.
Got the Yelan, now will save for future characters. I can still use my friend's account if I want to play Childe(his riptide effect just feels super fun and flashy)
The great thing about International is that it really can handle basically everything the game throws at you with relative ease. It has great power at the start, and gets even more broken as you start to add in more things, like five star weapons, cracked artifacts, constellations, and so forth. You can also add in Nahida when Burgeon is preferred like with the triple Heralds. I think it's best for now, to have two teams: One of them being Dendro based, ideally with nahida or Al Haitham as the Dendro unit...or you could run something with Yae / Tighnari for spread/aggravate. The other team should be International, or a Hu Tao based vape team that's roided up, or perhaps Raiden National. What I'm saying is: You should have one Dendro based team on the side that favors it, and one non Dendro, but powerful meta team like International / Raiden / Hu Tao team. This is what has consistently allowed me to full clear Abyss with relative ease, so I can continually focus on powering up my units.
Couldn't you replace Beidou on the taser team with Kuki for a defensive healing option since her ring also attacks with his melee? It seems to work alright for me, at least.
need an opinion i got chide missed niluo and nihita but i got a guarantee on banner unit in the next 2-5 pulls (Im at 74 pity ) to i get miss aqua bow girl or do i wait on hydro archon
I have guaranteed Childe and because of you I just wished on weapon banner (I had 50 pity) - in 20 pulls I got Skyward Atlas and Aqua Simulacra. Now I only hope I will know how to play him :D
I’ve had Childe since 2.2, and I never get tired of using him. I don’t use him in international since I never built the others ( and won’t ever ), instead I use Thoma with him the most and thanks to Dendro I use Nahida and YaoYao for my own burgeon team, heck sometimes I put him with Dehya and Shinobu with Layla to be goofing around in the overworld 😂.
I wish he had different good teams other than national. Im tired of every good character I like wanting Benny (I'm a Wanda main that wants to pull Wriothesley lol). Its weird to say but I wish we powercrept Benny or release a Hydro Faruzan that specifically doesn't buff Vaporize and offers high atk buff too.
Ganyu and Ayato's burst. Because the more enemies, the higher the chance the burst falls on an enemy instead of randomly within the burst's circle. Closer they are, the more damage they receive. Albedo's Burst follows the same principle but also creates 7 instances.
I'm really just trying to have a stacked roster of strong characters so that way further in the future I can play with any meta or I can play with any characters and don't have to worry about do I have them or not to compete in the spiral abyss because I will play it sometime just not right now because I'm having too much fun playing Genshin not worrying about it. But that's how I stay involved but everybody do y'all that's just for me because I hear people say all the time how they get bored and how Genshin is bad well sucks for y'all because I don't spend any money like that and I have fun when I'm playing it, so maybe y'all just need to get something else and do something else with your time and you wouldn't be so mad imo
I tried childe in nilou team when nahida first came out and while it's not practical i must say, it could work and using the 3 star recurve bow that heals you can get away without a healer if fast, or else his hydro application is too much and too fast which is not ideal in nilou teams since it overwrites the dendro aura on the enemies.
I got him on accident, so I'm making use of him. (I needed starglitter for Xingqiu and I wanted Freminet. Was kinda hoping I would've failed the 50/50, but whatever. Hopefully Venti isn't next, because I will cry if I don't get him. Especially since I still need 2 starglitter and I really do not want Zhongli). I don't think I want to learn his Abyss Team, but he seems fun, so I'll experiment. I got through the Abyss with Kaeya, Kokomi, Dendro MC, and Bennett in a scuffed burgeon team, so I'm willing to try pretty much anything lol.
He's very technical and anti newbie because he doesn't benefit from zhongli. Neglected him for so long only to use him and give me my first 36*. Good thing is I don't have zhongli so I learned how to dodge enemies
I have both, and every situation is different, but I can tell you I’ve basically benched Zhongli and still use Childe. But if you, for example use Yoimiya, or Hu Tao, or Lyney (really any other character that needs that interruption resistance), then Zhongli could be more useful.
Childe was my first 5* DPS but I never like him because of his variable cooldown that could climb up to 40 seconds long. As long as I was able to kill the enemy in one cast of his skill, things were good but I always struggled to slip out of it and do proper rotations so when Ayaka came out I got her and as soon as I leveled her up she overtook the role of my main DPS and I did not really play Childe ever since. Who knows I may use him again eventually but I'm afraid I'd need to get him a whole new weapon and artifact set to do that as everything on him is pretty rusty after almost two years for which I did not play him.
i'd reccomend if you're gonna use Childe again. i'd reccomend just a 2pc hydro-2pc Atk then his usual 4pc nymphs dream, Nymphs is better damage wise but it isn't necessary. and as for his weapon. stringless is viable for international and also probably his best 4 star weapon outside king's squire or the sumeru bow. a tip i reccomend is by looking at Childe's burst when it's on cooldown which if i remember childe stays on field for 7, 8 or 9 seconds and barely for 15-20 seconds. and then use that downtime to battery xiangling.
Yeah. Don't know if it's his best team but you can refresh the old Childe taser team. Childe, 2 electro (back than fishl and beidou) + free spot. I used him in a hyperbloom variation for fun as well. With nahida and kuki.
can work with hyperbloom too with Nahida/dendro MC and childe as driver, kuki's skill actually acts as a good timer if you're not used to his CD yet and don't know when to switch off
I get zhongli is very good for those onfield dps who need interruption but i like childe more plus i already got decent shielder that almost can compete more than just shield like diona and layla and maybe kirara
In terms of nuke damage, Childe clears. In terms of sustained damage, I think Neuvillette will be better, he's kinda like Ayato with a different style.
He is a case where I could enjoy him but not in the current state of the game. As long as I am unable to check cooldown on his E off-field and I would have to switch to him, I can't have fun with him, no matter how meta he is.
For with nahida national you can replace xiangling instead of kazuha and Kazuha will infuse with pryo creating the burgoens :)

I can’t justify pulling him. I like the idea of a broken national comp but knowing myself, I think I’d rather have a more smooth brained option like ayato.
is ayato a cool harbinger or does he have riptides? 😏
Thank you~~
Here are my thoughts on his constellations
C1 - Its mid. 20% decrease on e skill cooldown doesnt help that much. It shouldve been 30-35% to make it valuable
C2- Is garbage. Energy proc only works if you defeat an enemy plus childe has no energy issues if his ER is above 110%
C3 and C5 - Good cons increase e skill and burst level which increase his riptide dmg
C4 - procs riptide flas on enemies every 4 seconds and it can proc automatically. Its good for electro-charged and dendro reactions but it will nerf childe international dmg due to a separate riptide effect
C6 - Its actually good quite probably the only constellation that is acceptable.
TLDR: If you main childe international, Stop at C0 or C1.
There truly is nothing more satisfying than Riptide going wild on a pack of enemies
I got Childe on accident (wished on wrong banner during Yae Miko &Childe banner), and now he's my best character.
childe got that dawg in him
I still love how people just don't know how to call Childe
Like
Childe ? Tartaglia ? Ajax ???
All are correct. His real name is Ajax. His fatui name is Tartaglia. His code name is Childe
*I know*, That common knowledge. I was just pointing out at the fact that people really don't know what to call him then lol@@ilikepointlessinternetargument
Ed Sheeran.
Mostly saw this in EN community, I know at least JP settle on using Tartaglia (Taru as his cute nickname)
How much on the melee?
@@liveyourlife6911 my melee does twice as much than the normal one does
@@XplicitTruth444 i really haven't tried doing a perfect oneshot, like 1m dmg, but I feel like I probably could if I did the right things
Give the skyward harp on Childe my man
I pulled on the current weapon banner. unbeatable value.
Childe main since his first released!
Hearing someone say Polar Star is a chore to fully stack has the same ring to me as someone saying Childe cool down is long at C0.
Uhuh. Range burst>e>n1>c1. Fully stacked.
Thats basically his rotation. More like repetative than chore
@@lazyremnant380yeah cause other Pyro characters sucks ass and dendro ass is just bs
I'm so hyped to finally get him. I'll probably give a try to International but my go-to is definitely going to be his Taser team. Only 3 more days :')
Was originally wanting to play taser more than international cuz it looks cooler. But then i tried both and international is more satisfying. U should try both and pick the one u want more
i enjoy the taser team more in the overworld. but international has been carrying me in the abyss since forever
edit: goodluck on your pulls !
International clears taser
Dual dagger is all the reason I need 😂
@@justgeo6889a little correction:
Strong application is needed in dendro teams but in bloom teams, u need a strong but not too much hydro application.
@@justgeo6889
He technically functions in multiple teams, but those cooldowns are a problem, and he falls off relative to your other options (Ayato and Kokomi).
Tartaglia in my opinion is a great example of high skill high reward.
It is so good to do him right because of how frustrating it is to do him wrong.
Best character in the game imo
Childe the best hydro DPS Enabler :)
Hes a one trick pony, but man his trick is effective as hell
I tripple crowned my husbando and he is lvl 90. I love his gameplay and the challange to play him right. Never regreted getting him.
Childe Nahida burgeon is also deadly to the party without reliable healer. 😂
As someone whos enjoyed playing Tartaglia since his release, im definitely going for him on my main account (only have him on my 2nd account)
I was confused about whether to build Ayaka Premium Team or Childe International because they both needed Kazuha.
Don’t worry, you can use sucrose for International, and she works about as well as kazuha thanks to her massive EM share, c6 bonus(if you have that), and thrilling tales.
EDIT; If you’re using sucrose, make sure to look up a guide on how to guoba swirl with her.
yeah, what the other guy said, just use sucrose.
Sucrose can work
So that useful
yeah like the rest said sucrose works well.
I lost out to Scara because I used up my primos for Childe, being my biggest regret...but then I used him a lot. My favorite arrow user for sure.
- 0:25 i think this comment apply on every character.
I skipped Nahida's first run for him, and I do not regret it. When you learn the rotations and how to manage his cooldowns, he's the best.
Now with Natlan, a Childe Taser Team with Beidou, Cinder City Ororon, and VV Kazuha/Sucrose/Venti would probably be crazy, even before bringing in possible weapon buffs.
Your tartaglia kazu baidou run was really clean
People forgot true vape teams with arrivals of dendro and bs reactions, I hope Fontaine and Natlan revamps those builds again
Opinion I don't hype to pull Childe if I only have save for furina? No big deal if I don't have Childe on my account and I should pull first fuuna?
I can still use my friend's account if I want to play Childe(his riptide effect just feels super fun and flashy)
if i have the skyward harp r2 and the new bow for lynette which should i use for him?
Lynette uses a sword...
@@rickydinto oops wrong twin lol i mean the other one😭
You could, it just might be less damage. You could run Tenacity on Kuki though and buff and heal
need an opinion i got chide missed niluo and nihita but i got a guarantee on banner unit in the next 2-5 pulls (Im at 74 pity ) to i get miss aqua bow girl or do i wait on hydro archon
so hard to say until we see the archons kit
@@JelloImpact but that wont be for another 2 patches
im was just wondering given this is her first rerun, her next might be some time away
I have guaranteed Childe and because of you I just wished on weapon banner (I had 50 pity) - in 20 pulls I got Skyward Atlas and Aqua Simulacra. Now I only hope I will know how to play him :D
Quick question not trying to be rude ir anything but why do You cut the video every 5 words or so
Since 3.0 im playing him in a hyperbloom team, which works great
I’ve had Childe since 2.2, and I never get tired of using him.
Its weird to say but I wish we powercrept Benny or release a Hydro Faruzan that specifically doesn't buff Vaporize and offers high atk buff too.
who is the other character with the quadratic scaling built in??
Ganyu and Ayato's burst. Because the more enemies, the higher the chance the burst falls on an enemy instead of randomly within the burst's circle. Closer they are, the more damage they receive.
Albedo's Burst follows the same principle but also creates 7 instances.
I wanted Childe but I pulled for Zhongli instead because i needed the shield T.T
*Rasputin intensifies*
In other words Tartaglia requires skill to be built and played
I do auto childe. Avg 27k autos plus with a VERY basic team
Should I use the viridescent hunt bow or the first great magic for him? He’s c1 4pc nymph set
I have an ed sheeran version of hyperbloom with 3 archons: johnlee, dookdook and ei. Nilou is still WIP because i hated farming those padisarahs.
Nyphms dream has been dropping in several abyss boxes so you might already have something decent to put on him right out the box
Don't use polar star if you can't get all the stacks, do use nymph's dream because you get all the stacks. They practically have the same effect.
Any tips for a fun overworld team with childe :D
Thx for the guide
Can I use him as an on field dps in Raiden hyperbloom team, so that I can use xiangling and Bennett for Ayaka team
Man I’ve been stuck between childe and raiden but I already started farming for raiden so I guess I’ll have to wait a year to get childe
I love child 🤨 I wanna get him
been pulling for childe with 0 luck, got c6 benny and Barbs tho lmfaaaaaaaaaaimsuicidalooooooooo
and the submarine helmet kid . Failure or whatever his name is
I got him on accident, so I'm making use of him.
I’m now fighting the urge to pull him instead of zhongli
go for zhongli. He fits into so many teams whereas Childe doesnt. i have both btw
go for zhongli. i have both btw
Go for Arlecchino. I have both btw
I have both, and every situation is different, but I can tell you I’ve basically benched Zhongli and still use Childe. But if you, for example use Yoimiya, or Hu Tao, or Lyney (really any other character that needs that interruption resistance), then Zhongli could be more useful.
Same haha, but i go for Childe even it's to me hard to skip zhongli
Since I'm a kuki main, would you say electro goes well with Tart?
Love how he called him all three names instead of just Childe or Tartaglia🤣
If not for Lyney and his fun gameplay I would've pulled on Ajax.
TY for this video Making me feel better if my RNG falis me this banner for Yelan
Neuvillette or Childe? I like both gameplay but I don't know which of the two is more worth getting recommendations, or opinions? in terms of power
