    Gr8 bargains Bill, sounds like a Fab Day - I often wonder if I have Scottish roots, as I’m always keen fer a bargain. I like the Teaks (specially for a fiver, it would cost more to buy the wheels 😆), they roll so well, I also have a Rake of Blue grain hoppers, pulled by Mick & Mac the Caledonian Pugs Double Header. Whatta Hobby, I’m so glad I found it 👍🏻

    I drove down from Aberdeen with two pals on the Saturday morning. First time since the Pandemic. Found some lovely Lilliput (Trix?) locos (A1, A2s?) but couldnt figure out what scale they were. Lots of 3D printed bits and pieces i hadnt seen before like chimneys and signal post finials and the Pop-Up kits of Scottish station buildings looked tremendous.

    VERY nice buys there Bill! I'm personally lusting after a rake of LNER teaks myself to run behind my Flying Scotsman and Green Arrow (and eventually Mallard when I come across the right one at a good price), I'd really like to have those new ones but they are SO expensive, so perhaps I should give these older ones a closer look!

    Hi Bill, nice purchases,I remember grain hopper wagons like that at Elgin, on their way to Burghead, usually behind a class 40, although on one occasion a pair of class 20s did the honours, apparently,if they were hauled by a single class 20, a brake van was required, as the guard was not permitted to travel with the driver, anyway glad to hear you enjoyed the show, take care, all the best from (North-east) Scotland, Stephen.

    Not sure if you have heard, but Realtrack Models has done a Strathclyde Class 156 if that would meet your needs mate. I am getting one in August :). Nice additions to the fleet anyway buddy.
    Peter.

    Your teak coaches look awesome! Great buy¬ The whisky wagons are lovely too, I have a few N gauge ones including Peco kit ones, they are starting to cost an absolute fortune. Hope you got yours for a good price!

    The Whisky grain wagons look great in those colours. I recently acquired a Lima version of this wagon in "Black and White Scotch Whisky" livery here in Belgium - with a yellow body and blue chassis. It looks very toy-like in these colours even though the model is quite detailed.

    Great buys Bill they look really good.I went on Saturday and was very impressed by the quality of the layouts on show.Also managed to pick up three cement wagons for £17. There was some ridiculous pricing for some locos and rolling stock on certain stalls though..

    Hi Bill. My 1970'ish Triang Jinty has given up the ghost. Trying to be clever, I bought a new style motor from "Horns & Whistles." But I can't figure out the wiring , despite watching their video showing how to fit their motor! There are only two wires!. Wish they had taught electrics at my school! KIndest regards.

    Hi Bill, You just need a couple of the LNER sleeper cars to go with your new rake. Nice buy.

    Very good them Bill. Wish my sister would spoil me. Shes the youngest so shes the one that gets spoilt. Now you have to build a whiskey distillery for the layout, not that you'd need one but at least it gives you an excuse to have a wee dram on the bench too😂. Layouts coming on a ton too. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice additions. The funny thing about the grain wagons is that the Lima one's are actually better than the Bachmann one's as Bachmann use the old Trix mould which is undersized. In fact I'm surprised in this day and age that they can still manage to sell them. I've managed to build up some nice rakes of the Hornby version for not much money and have formed two rakes, one for grain and one for alumina traffic as scene on the West Highland line - great reuse of redundant wagons! lol

    • @jdenm8
      @jdenm8 Год назад +1

      Yeah, the Bachmann one is a poorly scaled up TT one AFAIK? I've found that they can be numbered wrong too, Bachmann only has moulds for the 8-rib version of the wagon, but will happily put numbers from the 5-rib ranges on them. 33-127A is a good example, BRT7785 is from one of the 5-rib runs, Lima's 305354 BRT7780 is correctly represented as 5-rib. Considering how much they go for, Bachmann could at least have made sure they're printing the appropriate numbers on the things.
