For Lynx owners that might need extra assistance in roofing your kayak, you might consider a Codinter Kayak Load Roller ($40-$57). I had a problem roofing my Lynx on my Subaru Outback because of two issues; 1) the kayak would have to rest and slide along the roof "lip" above the rear window and 2) once I was sliding the kayak on I would have to lift it over the large sharkfin antenna at the rear of the roof. The Codinter solved both problems. In addition to the 4"+ of extra clearance the roller gives me, it simply makes it much easier to get the kayak on and off.
Thanks for sharing great tips thank u. I’m going demo one next week I hope I like it 😊yours is a fishing machine. I do a lot of paddle board fishing I have dragonfly paddle board 13.6 45lbs
Glad you found some of the tips useful. As long as you take a good care (treat it almost like a surf board or a SUP) you will be fine and will last a long while as good as new. My Lynx replaced my kayak and SUP.
You might want to look at those Thule or Hobie roof rack pads mate. As it is, when the Lynx is transported on the rack overtightening the belts could damage the hull. The pads are cheap and work great.
Great video, the dual camping mat trick will be helpful for me down the track. I was wondering how far you'll typically go out on the kayak, and how long those sessions are? Thanks
Thanks. Lynx is like SUP or surfboard. A lot more prone to getting dents and scratches than your usual kayak. So every bit counts.TBH I dont do serious fishing off kayaks or SUP. More of an exercise and enjoy nature. I probably pick up more rubbish on the water as I paddle/pedal along than fish 🤪 My morning kayak sessions are normally around 3-4 hours.
Can I ask - how do you store your kayak when you are not using it? Hobie recommends to store upside down or hang through scuppers. Both seem impractical, and more complicated if you have H-Rail installed. Thanks
Hi John. Cool video as usual. Are the paddles there because they are out of the way and won’t interfere with your casting or fishing? Also to add height and increase your visibility to other water users?
You let it sit sideways so the wheel naturally floats up to the bottom of the kayak. You then just slide the two poles towards the hole. Once there you now have a lever allowing you to push the wheels down and the poles are already somewhat in the holes and it will pop right in. Does that make sense? Sorry. Hard to explain 🤣
@@JYLFishing I think I know what you are saying. Lay it flat and let it hug the hill then lever it into to holes with a quick flip once it floats into position flat and lines up? Yesterday I battled that thing for ten minutes and then drug the boat to the sandy part by the ramp and tilted it.. I knew once I got home I was writing you right away. 😂 Thank you so much 😊 girls sometimes need that guidance
I think you are on the right track. Give it a shot. If you still having issues I am happy to do a short video to explain 😁 Is your cart similar or same as mine? Not the big beach wheel type? Those are really hard even with my method with so much floatation.
It is very stable but you will feel every wave/wake. Its very much more of flat hull. No concern for safety but its def not a weapon of choice for offshore. For what I do, its perfect. Light at 20kg, nimble and most stable platform for inshores.

Great tip! I might also check it out. I am sure the viewers would appreciate it as well. Thank for sharing 😁👍
Such a great video thanks Jyl!!!
Yes jyl you are the best thank you
Thanks a lot! Hope you got something out of it.
Thanks!!! Now I must try a lot harder! 😃
Keep fishing and keep producing. I just subbed your channel 👍

Do you mind sharing what under garment pants and shorts you are wearing in this video?

I store it in my garage on a flat table surface. I have the surface padded with foam camping mat. Been 6 month now and it seem to be alright.
@@JYLFishing Hi, can you please share/post picture of your padded /foam storage table? Thanks
Hi John. Cool video as usual. Are the paddles there because they are out of the way and won’t interfere with your casting or fishing? Also to add height and increase your visibility to other water users?
Thanks Kevin! That was brought up by my mate. So I do intend to stick light reflective sticker on it. However, not my primary reason.
Another theory on the oars! Is it to increase surface area when you want to use the breeze to drift?
You the man! Yep. I use it to push me along in the wind. I can turn the paddle to adjust to wind direction. Gives me that boost when I need it 👍
@@JYLFishing Hehe, now that's slick.
Yep. Give it a go. It works a treat.
My hobie cart floats and I can not push it deep enough to get it in the holes knee deep Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks! Too envious of you! You live in one of the most beautiful part of the world blessed with wonderful nature! 😃
How stable is the hobie lynx ? Is it the same as pro angler hobie. what is the weight of the hobie lynx?

@@JYLFishing I fish near the spit bridge for kingie you reckon it would be safe around that area ?
That would be fine. Just watch the big wakes time to time from the big boats not adhering to the speed limit.
Gotta love the mask when fishing in the outdoors, awesome….
A must for me. I don’t want sun burnt face all year round.
Heck , I just put the seats down in my rav4 and cruise on at any speed.
Hi, what do you mean you just put down the seat and cruise on? The Lynx would NOT fit into Rav4! do you keep you rear trunk door half way closed?
👍🏼
👍👍
the paddle is to pick up chics
I will bring with me 4 x paddles this weekend!
The paddle is like because the paddle holder is horrible on the lynx
Ha ha ha.... you are not wrong there. But not the primary reason for me. I also had my paddles like that on my Hobie Pro Angler.
It is horrible indeed im changing that holder asap
It works well for minimalist setup where you have nothing but the kayak. For a fully decked out setup it just gets in the way.
I need the rod holders too much
Easy.
😁💪
