I personally believe that if Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens had better promotion with their respective labels, they would both be unstoppable. They had the blueprint of the stars who came before them, beautiful voices and natural stage presence. Hudgens could definitely go either pop, soul or even adult contemporary. Tisdale sounds more pop rock, folk or techno. Even though Bridgit Mendler's career was shortlived, she was amazing to listen to. Her voice and sound of music is best suited for radio friendly pop or "soccer mom music" if that is the direction she'd want to go in.

I love how Ashley signed with Warner and not with the obvious Hollywood Records, Headstrong is such a pop classic, wish she had continued with her pop-electronic-urban-ish style for Guilty Pleasure, as a title for an album I was waiting for a bigger and louder Headstrong follow up, not the pop-rock that had Selena/Demi/Miley having the success. Till this day is insane to me that the title track “Guilty Pleasure” was just a bonus track in another country, the whole album should had been full of “Crank it Up”s and “Guilty Pleasure”’s style songs. As for Vanessa, she didn’t had a chance tbh, just by looking at Ashley’s and Vanessa’s Hot 100 debuts, Vanessa debuted at #24 while Ashley actually got into the top 5.

i have been a fan of ross lynch/r5 since i was a little girl. i 100% believe their music is underrated, especially as the driver era. i have grown up with them and have seen them more than 5 times in concert, met them twice. they are the most unproblematic and genuine artists i have come to known. you can tell ross, rocky along with the former members of r5 that they are giving it to all when it comes to performing and putting out music. it is quite shocking to see how ross’ success, along with his band, have not met the same level as either selena, miley, demi or the jobros. thank u for covering this topic! hopefully more people discover the driver era as they truly deserve it

The name switch from R5 to The Driver Era was very smart. I was never into R5 but one day i was watching Austin and Ally and decided to look up Ross and found his new band. I really liked their music and not having the Disney image attached to the band made it feel real and not childish.
I still listen to some of Ross’s music. Spotify randomly recommends R5 and The Driver Era for me all the time. And I still listen to their song Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight all the time
