- King's X is probably my favorite band in the world (along with Clutch of course, and a few others). Yet somehow though I've seen them play dozens of times, I've never gotten any video footage of them. All of that changed on 8-12-2009... I saw them play at the Sellersville Theater in Sellersville, PA. The place is an old time theater with gilded decor and (gasp) seats! It was a cool place to see them perform, though I have to say it was a bit weird seeing them from halfway across the room sitting in a seat, rather than pressed up against the stage where I usually am. Still, having seats has it's advantages - it allowed me to be still and capture some decent footage. I hope you enjoy it - and please spread the word about this amazing rock band!

Jerry is the freak'n coolest drummer I've ever seen in action. He puts it all into every single hit!
There's something akin to Keith Moon about his playing, looks inefficient but yet so expressive. I love it!
I've tried spreading the word, and for the most part it is for naught. Most people's minds are too closed to appreciate the art of King's X.
Mark Finn seems to sadly be the case. Billy Sheehan stated it perfectly: “King’s X should have been bigger than U2”. Agreed.
woooow .. so true ..
Big Wreck is another enigma .. but yea, King's X is like The Beatles of the 90s.
You said a mouthful!
@@roba1899 Except they really got started late 70's, but didnt become "Kings X" until 1985 when they moved to Houston. But they did influence the sound of grunge for sure, even some of the guys in Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and others admit it.
Man how do these guys get overlooked??? The grooves harmony . The drummer is in the pocket. He is spot on .great guitarist and bass player.great band. Long live kings x
I can only compare this band raw live performances to Stone Temple Pilots and the great drummer Eric Kretz... sadly now Scott the frontman is gone but the rhythm session still kicking some serious ass, hopefully a new Army of Anyone algum
Love Kings X. What a bunch of great guys too. Had the pleasure of meeting them a few times and always interested in their fans.......
Jerry is the man... wow what emotion from a drummer!
Those guys are simply one of the best rock band ever !
I love the energy of Jerry Gaskill !!
Maybe my absolute favorite King’s X song...that big bend after the second verse gets me every time.
Unique and underrated. Saw them last year in Germany. I'm so lucky, to have seen them live.
I discovered KingsX in the 90's and still to 2023 I am still blown away by the music!
Jerry + drums = the law
I've seen Kings X a half dozen times or more and I will say that they never put on a bad show. Thanks for posting "Pleiades" one of my favorite songs. Very hypnotic and melodic
Man back was it 89... I saw kings X in Manchester, UK and met them after show... They were hot but only the wise were aware.... I have a great pic of Doug, helping me stay upright... He was a true rock.n roller.... But seemed blown away by the adoration the UK showed them..... Modest, thoughtful and kind to a fault .... That's probably why they never got huge .... They r were too kind, aware of their "power" and wouldn't/couldn't drop fans,Producers, record labels at a whim. Too nice in the shark Pool... But they, excuse me guys, rocked like bastards!!!!!!
Was there too brother...took a ruck of friends that had never heard of them and to this day all still fans
This incredible song should've been 10 minutes longer!
Wish they still did more of a mixture of Doug and Ty songs (singing). Love both of them, but the contrast makes a really nice mix that is missing in more current concerts. What a great band. All three of them masters of the craft.
One of the best bands on planet earth !!
I love these guys! They're from the Orion constellation! They just flew in!
OMG what I wouldn't give to FEEL this song in the room. Sometimes, you just don't know how lucky you are.
I was there. It was awesome.
Yeah! On my little phone, the dynamics and intensity are serious. I first became aware of them from an add in the back of a motorcycle magazine, way back there! Big fan ever since. Still haven't seen them live, though...
I can honestly say that Jerry Gaskill is my favorite drummer.
Totally fair! He does everything needed for the song...

Im back to very cool and good music. So underrated band.
God I love this band
Great video, a perfect showcase of why we love Jerry, the guy just OWNS every note
My favorite King's X tune of all time. Too bad they had to drop the tuning vs. the Gretchen recording. Still, killer!
he is doin well, my girlfriend was at jerry,s benefit show last night,,there all friends of hers,,and he is gettin strong and he is home,,,
This song is so good!!!
wow...this song has much more impact live....which is interesting to notice since I have been listening for 25 years
Thanks! They sure did a great version that night. I had goosebumps through most of the song... :-)
My fav King's X song!

It don't get much better than this. The memories this song brings back...my wild "drankin" days in that Mustang GT : )
Wow, That just blew me away!!! without a doubt the Greatest Band of All Time!!!
Great video of my fav band, thanks for sharing skyyerocks!
Low and Heavy.......... LOVELY
Jerry absolutely tees off on the cymbal to his right!
Was there. Sellersville Theatre is a rare gem. I wish they had a place like that in St. Louis....
American Theatre still around?
I miss the old MIssissippi Nights. Saw Kings X there at least 6 or 7 times.
Amazing tune... I've always loved and loved this one. thanks for sharing
My favorite band of all time! Thanks for sharing!!!

Great tune,. Great show!
A thing of pure beauty.
Wow, I love the sound of Jerry's snare. Great job, skyyerocks. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome clip! thank you for posting from this classy show!
KING'S X...& then there were none.......KING'S X .......& there's the void.......
Just reinforces my opinion that King's X is one of the greatest bands ever. the perfect tour was Galactic Cowboys opening for King's X. Talk about an evening of rock Bliss........
Great job on the video. I was sitting at the stage in front of Doug. Way cool! One of my faves too with Dream Theater.
Awesome band in an awesome room. Love ST94
killer guitar riff so freaking awesome heavy as fuck yeah \../
god jerry all up in the drums tight. maybe more show off drummers I take jerry allday!
dodge peters:
Yes, and this is a shower tempo than the record which is even more impressive.
Yeah. I hated those drummers that used to show off and twirl their sticks 'Look at me' attitude
man I cannot believe I missed this!
the Greatest band in the world! KINGS X RULES!
stunning
Kings'X Rocks I like the 12 string bass great stuff!!!!!!
you can get serious diarrhea if you stand right in front Doug's amps. It would be the best diarrhea ever.
Man that bass tone is so insanely good xD
Wow...both KX and Clutch?? I'll bet I know you, don't I? :-) Great video, great song, great moment! So jealous!!
Awesome band!! King's X rules!!
Thank You for posting this
Great Video Jerry rocks in this
They all do…
Il loro pezzo che preferisco
Wow! Great Stuff...
herry hits them drums hard as a mother
Jerry kickin ass back there....awesome
I caught KX back in '89 (maybe '90) at the Roxy in Atlanta. Doug blew like 2 bass heads that night. They ended playing the rest of the 2nd set and encore set all acoustic and played the song "I can feel the Difference ". OMG! THAT WAS AND IS the best acoustic set I EVER heard to date! Everybody sang together in unison. I am convinced that that's how my heaven will be when I die...unless I go to hell and get stuck in a Taylor Swift dimension! 😈
Freaking eh! Kings X slaying it!
@Jefgg jerry is getting better and should be going home soon.. ive been a kings x fan since out of the silent planet album and they have never disapointd me at any of thier shows.
Jerry commands this song here
Yes, people were sitting down for this show as this is a traditional theater. I'm not used to sitting during shows either. LOL. I was cool though as it better enabled me to take video. I was going to go to the Stone Pony show the next night, but alas I was too tired. I love seeing them play that place - I'm sure it was excellent. :-)
@Jefgg - I'm pretty sure I was at that show as I've seen just about every show KX played at the Birch Hill. Yes, I too was sad to hear about Jerry, but I hear he is making a comeback and is getting better every day. My thoughts are with him constantly....
Nahhhh. :-) They're still going string and Jerry is better than ever. I just saw them open for Kansas a few months ago and they kicked ass. I just wish they had gotten a longer set....
@mattkaslow DAMN RIGHT IT IS!! wonder if their will be a second
!!!!That's the ish!!!!!!
Jerry.... The most overlooked dummer ever...
Every tour seems like a different tuning haha. I could swear elephants and whales can rock out to this miles away. Too bad they don't bring out the Bulbous tunes. They need to make an album in that tuning again so they have more of a reason to play them.
this version is tuned down a whole step from the studio version. i knew something was different about it
@804pillow - Pillow! How are ya? Well I hope. Keep on rockin'... :-)
no one will ever understand why they weren't that successful as they should have ought to be. it's a real shame, what the hell went wrong back then? I still have no answer to this although I just finished The Oral History. No one knows - no one will EVER understand!
@Cavs278 I'd love to hear that
I just can't believe that they've stuck it out since the fucking 80's with only a marginal audience. Most people just give up when they don't achieve U2 status right away
You tell 'em Pillow... :-)
Killer snare sound jerry
@Cavs278 I'd love to get that. Im a huge fan and have over 30 Boots from them.
yeah, who knows what had transpired b4 this show. I just surf YT and am one of those 'play it like the record' people so I get kind of sad when I hear singers voices drop 3 or 4 notes and they can't sing the stuff they did 10 years b4.
Great show, and great footage! Did you get the video of Goldilox?
Jerry🐸
I love King's X from waaaay back but this drags and just sounds as if they're tired. maybe toured out.
agree, and I miss Ty's original tone..this just sounds like distorted dropped tuned generic guitar tone
There is always a perfect tempo to a song...always. It usually takes a producer to nail it...
Love these guys forever but the tempo is wrong and I'm being nice...really nice...
HA! Thanks for the giggle!
JERRY!
what's with the "...I'm a mormon" video link to my right. Can't you see I'm listening to KX!
Jerry
@skyyerocks Why do people always have to stand at concerts anyway?? I can't see anything when people stand up. I've always hated that about Rock concerts...
The drop tuning is too low to sound good- the sweet spot is gone
Jerry is full of violence
Should be millionaire rockstars
these guys are tighter than a sm pair of undies on a 400 lb man
3 freedom loving alpha biological male rockers from Katy Texas grundgeing and funking us right the fu#k up !!!!!
...jus caint fukk wit the X...
