I love my Gear VR, so I try to find the way to run Cardboard apps on my Gear VR. If you need it, go GOOGLE PLAY and search "Play Cardboard apps on Gear VR", you will see that app with blue icon. hope this can help
The passthrough camera is the first step toward something I've been anticipating for a number of years now. Virtually assisted reality. With it you'll be able to share a virtual layer that rests on top of the real world. If you want to paint your house a different color you can give it a test run on the virtual layer by pulling out a paint program and painting the house. Then anyone with a headset will automatically see it the way you painted it. You'll also be able to change yourself so other people with headsets will see your avatar rather than you. And if you find someone annoying you can make them disappear so the only thing you see is an outline that will keep you from walking into the person. Audio will be included so you can delete sounds as well (with the headset producing the inverse wave to the sound you want blanked out. So barking dogs, boom cars or a nagging wife can be muted. Graffiti tags and other unpleasant things will be deleted. But everything your headset sees is recorded in your own encrypted database so if an invisible person attacks you, they'll be recorded and reported to the police within seconds. And eventually you'll be able to have a virtual presence in an actual space using drone technology. You'll see from the drone's perspective as if you were there and those with headsets will see an image of you as you walk along having a conversation with them.

Just got my "free" Gear VR with my Galaxy S7 Pre-Order today and was expecting just some plastic version of Google Cardboard but I was very wrong because this thing is awesome fun aside from the headaches after using it too long.
It looks incredible. I'm meeting with a mate to try it out for myself for the first time today. The only criticism I would have at this stage is that it looks only passive. Is there no handheld controller to go with it?

prasanth jos No you would have to connect the phone to the VR. There's a USB cable you have to connect with from the VR to the phone and apparently there's no cable to connect the computer to it.
I would say this would be awsome but what turns me off to it is the fact you need your hand up on the side to select things it needs a either wired or wireless remote with a button that does the same thing like a Wii numbchuck idea.

Swivel Z how's that possible? It's only got a little over 100 degree of field of view. They have vr with larger fpvs meant to fill your view with more of the screen.
