- In this video, I am reviewing the Keurig K-Mini Coffee Machine.
The Keurig K-Mini Coffee machine comes with a 12oz non-removable water reservoir and has one single needle entry point.

The model is a couple of years old from the date I made this video however it seems to be fairly popular and so I wanted to review it and test it out for myself.
You can't remove the water reservoir on the Keurig K-Mini but you can on the Keurig K-Mini Plus model. Since you only add fresh water to the reservoir every time based on the amount of coffee you would like to drink, there are no extra buttons to push. Just fill and press the brew button.
Unfortunately, the Keurig K-Mini takes fairly long to brew a cup of coffee when compared to one of the newer models like the Keurig K-Supreme or the most recent compact model, the Keurig K-Express.

The Keurig K-Mini takes you through a couple of steps. First, you add the water the coffee machine with drain the water reservoir into the coffee maker and then it will take several minutes for the machine to warm up and start heating the water, once the water is heated then it will start to dispense the hot water.
The Keurig K-Mini is noisy when compared to the newer models, so it shows that Keurig has definitely improved on their newer models going forward with both speed and sound.
It takes 81 seconds to brew a small 6 oz and 2 minutes 12 seconds to brew a large 12 oz cup of coffee from start to finish.
Overall, I would say that this has to be one of the fewest best single coffee makers under $100.

I didn’t know until I watched another video on how to use it, that the drip tray could come out for a taller travel mug. I have a 17oz Rae Dunn Christmas mug and it wouldn’t fit so I made coffee in a plastic Starbucks travel mug then poured into mine. Then I saw how to fit my mug. 🤦🏻♀️ I have the Keurig mini in the color evergreen. I absolutely love it. I got mine for $90 at Target as it was on sale. I eventually want to get the Keurig reusable k cup. But someone opened the box and stole it, and they didn’t have any more of the Keurig brand. I loved your video and how helpful it was.

I just bought it - I was heating water before with an electric water heating kettle or by boiling water - people are complaining about the time or the weight but think how long does it take to do it the old fashion way or to go to a coffee house, stand in line, pay 5 times more - so no complaints here but good review

With the mini plus you can remove the reservoir, and it has a strong button. Since this is my travel Keurig, I don't mind that it takes a little longer, or that it is a little noisy. It's a much better option that using the hotel's in-room coffeemakers.

We picked up the Mini Plus also, to avoid the Hotel fees, Covid, and the long lines in the lobby Starbucks. It travels well in its own backpack.

Possibly the best review of a product I’ve ever seen. Mine just arrived. It’s a backup to my AeroPress for when I need to go out quickly and don’t have time to grind and brew. The only down side for me seems to be the brew temp but we’ll see. I normally do 195 degrees. 167 seems a little to cool.
Oh thank you, kind of you to say. If you have time, preheat your mug, either microwave or put hot water in for a minute or two. may help a little.

I am trying to get into coffee for being more alert awake at work.
I’ve touch my lips to slightly warm coffee and is shocking and burned me. I’ve burned my lips on cold deli meat. So I can only imagine 195.. that’s hotttttt

Which one is better?
So, the first time I did this, the water didn’t drip into the mug, it literally sucked down into the unit. I tried to pull it apart but I can’t get it open and I’m afraid I’ll break it. Can I use it with water just hanging out in that back part? I feel like it will eventually get moldy. I’m not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Useful review. Also tells me this machine is VERY slow to brew a cup compared to the regular old school Keurig...seems like water heating is very slow...and I have to figure out how much water to put into it vs the old school that has a button for 6oz 8oz etc . Also thank you for using compostable pods !! :) Those are amazing
If you can't wait two minutes for a cup of coffee people you have serious issues. A mention of how long the cord is would be useful too.
@@sixtoseven7563 that doesn’t make it junk lol. That just means it doesn’t fit YOUR personal needs. I drink a cup every day, so the reservoir is perfect for me, and the cord isn’t an issue as I have an outlet close by for it. It’s not junk, it just doesn’t work for YOU personally.

I just brewed my first cup of Swiss miss hot chocolate and it was quick just over a minute to brew and it taste great.

I originally intended to purchase a K-Mini coffee maker at Walmart, but I ended up choosing the Ultima Cosa espresso maker with an integrated grinder for just $259. Coffee bean are a lot cheaper than the K-cup.

I just bought one...awaiting for Amazon to deliver. First time Keurig owner - I bought it because of the size (kitchen real estate is at a prime - and don't like a lot of 'things' all over the counter. I agree, now since viewing this review, about not being able to properly clean the water tank - can't remove. I got it for $60

When the coffee put the hot water in it started overfilling! And I ran out of things for hot water so I turned it off

I got mine in Jan of 2021. It was good for about 9 months than it just stopped working it would leak on our the bottom and back.

This is a "do not buy"!! I received one as a gift a couple weeks ago. Made two cups a day for 3 days, then it quit pumping. Tried everything, even adding another couple cups of water which ended up coming out the bottom. Contacted Keuring, nice people. They sent me a new one the other day. This morning, after 2 test runs to make sure all was clean, and working properly, I tried to brew a cup of coffee. Dripped about a thimble full, then it just sat there running, but not dispensing. Same problem as last time. Will send this one back and go back to my old stainless steel percolator which hasn't let me down in over 30 years!

Yes, you can as long as you use the reusable coffee filter. I'm sorry I didn't show it in this Keurig video but it's covered in all my other Keurig videos on how to use and insert it into the coffee machine.
Hi! If this is a one cup maker and there's only so much coffee in a pod why does it go up to 12 oz?? Does anyone know?
Because yu can also use your own filter to use the coffee that yu use to make in a regular coffee pot

The mugs on the stand are from Ikea, many many years ago LOL. The sloth winter mug is from Walmart. It was a gift. :)

Just the first time. I did it wrong and the water got sucked into the actual machine and didn’t drip into the cup. Now I have water floating around the unit that I can’t get out. I should have watched her video first
@aqsamussarat8605 . No, the first run was a cleaning brew - you want to do one before making your first cup of coffee since it's been sitting in a box for who knows how long. It's also a good idea to run a clean water brew after a few cups of coffee to remove any coffee deposit buildup.

yes you can use it to heat water for tea bags
How many times you can used the coffee?
Depends on your taste buds. The second time it will be less strong, probably won't taste as good as the first.
Would you have to put water first then throw it out before putting the pod inside to brew every single time?
Not necessarily. The very first time you use the machine for sure. But you may want to run a clear brew before your next cup in case any coffee bits are stuck from the last cup of coffee you made. Or you can always just run one daily... hope it helps.

ours broke after 3.5 years. it was great when it lasted, so it is extra frustrating when it stopped working for us.

It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.

Did you use a chemical disinfection wipe to clean the machine? They contain Quaternary Ammonium Compounds that may kill you

Yep, not too keen on this model at all. Had it for a year and was not impressed with the quality of anything. Recommend looking elsewhere, even for a budget k-cup device.

The K-pods can be emptied into compost, and then the outer part recycled. You can also buy compostable pods, which I like to do. Or you can use your own ground coffee with the reusable coffee filter. There are lots of options. Hope it helps.
