Hi Mally.. Aside from the beard and the cap you took me back 60years and watching me Grannie Stevenson qwaffing back bottles and bottles of her favourite tipple Milk Maid Stout.. When my mother approached the parrish priest to have a quiet word with her, his response was... " i know Molly drinks far to much.. swears an owfull lot and gets involved in far to many fights, but she never misses mass on a Sunday. and i wish there was more like her... Early Paul Brady and the great Andy Irvine from any period for me Mally.. Take care......

Nice to see the bar open again Mal. Lovely relaxed feel to these videos. Plenty more Irish bands/artists to explore too.

It goes without saying that we really enjoyed this video. Happy to Meet Sorry to Part by Horslips was recorded in an old house in our hometown on the Rolling Stones mobile unit. We were talking about doing a video on this once the weather improves. You've just inspired us to go for it. A great video... BTW I really love the first Moving Hearts album. My brother saw them at the famous Lisdoonvarna festival just after they formed and was blown away by them. A great achievement as he was an unrepentant punk at the time. 😂 Keep up the good work. Love the content and your positive presence. 👍

Cheers Dermot (and Tara)-I'll look forward to that video. I've always loved Christy Moore's song about the Lisdoonvarna festival-always made me want to go there

Looks a lot like Ram Tam that we used to sup at the Duke of York back in the day. Now Timothy Taylor's changed the name to Landlord's beer. I get suspicious of name changes. Then again I changed my name to 4D so I can't talk.
Talking of Ireland, an inspirational Irish tutor of mine from back in 1977-78 died in 2022, age 92, I found out last week, much on my mind. Can;t let that pass without getting something about her in print, & with that in mind contacted a few of her relatives & pals in Ireland.
Quite enlightening to hear the side of her that as a student I wasn't privy to. One of the things she taught me was how to pronounce my own name.
Her biggest gift was an uncanny ability to spot potential in a student long before the student himself had any idea. Tantamount to mindreading.
Must honour the inspirational teacher in our past if we want to stay civilised. So raise a glass to your favourite teacher, whoever s/he was.

Cheers as ever 4-dman. I guess you have a Gaelic name? Agreed on celebrating inspirational teachers- unfortunately I never had the benefit of meeting one in my schooldays. In my school the best teachers were useless and the worst one's violent and useless

When that happens, best bet is to get your Mentor from media as I did in my teens - - One of them was Jonathan Miller, quite inspirational in his TV documentaries & interviews back in the day, & then decades later we talked about helping his writer's block, so you never know where 'one-way' mentoring will lead.
      6 degrees of separation.
Another inspirational figure, for the way he wrote his own narrations & his art judgments, was Australian Robert Hughes, who presented/wrote BBC's THE SHOCK OF THE NEW in 1980. Learned a lot from Hughes, about art & writing.
These days it could be film director Jim Jarmusch, not just his films but his cool polymath interviews - - well worth raising a glass to, Jarmusch. He answered a Q of mine once - - by taking the p out of it. It was brilliant.

On the precipice of a slippery slope? Fast forward, to behold a slumped and emaciated VM, waist deep in bottles and cans, matted beard caked in a flotsam cocktail of Parmo batter, nut dust and stale ale. Shelves stripped bare, their contents long since pawned to feed an insatiable lust. Rab Noakes chants ‘Drunk Again’ to the desperate, pained crinkling of a two litre bottle of cider, squeezed dry between the wasted fingers of this once great man. A warning to us all.

Cheers Col-yes, in the autumn of our lives we can view life as a downhill slope-maybe, it could be argued - the slippier the better

The first 2 minutes 10 seconds were possibly your finest moments on the channel - it all went a bit south after that 🤭
