I'll be honest, Shido IS my favorite palace at least as of my last run (every palace after Sae's is fantastic). The rat puzzles didn't bother me as much as they did others. It just felt satisfying, uncovering all the cogs of Shido's conspiracy all the while giving each member of the Phantom Thieves their moment to shine. The game also has one of my favorite boss fight capped off with a 1v1 with the man who ruined Joker's life. My only real complaint is that it's too long but if too much of a good thing is my only problem, I'd say it's a damn good palace

He is responsible for the death of futaba's mother, the mental shutdowns, and why you are in probation to begin with. As a villain in general he was kinda mid(no real flair or interesting motive which maruki kimda makes up for), but he is still the culmination of most of your game till that point.
Thumbs up earned solely because you actually made (er, are making) a complete correct guide to the game in the process of this run. It's amazing how in recent years the manipulation of search engine optimization has actually made correct information on video games (well, any topic really) super difficult, as all of the top results are invariably early-made guides with either little actual value, or outright wrong information because all they cared about was getting page clicks.
You said it much better than I could! And yep, so many of those websites aren't even written by fans. Sometimes they're made by people who have only played the game once. The thing is, I know good informative sites exist for it, but they just don't show up on Google. Instead I get shitty results from the same 6 sites that don't tell me anything relevant. It's frustrating, but as long as people like you care enough about games like this to compile information in an accurate and sensible way, and people spread the knowledge about these databases, things'll turn out alright.
a challenge run idea has been on my mind for a bit, an “opposite” run where each party member uses skills they were not designed for at all (which would only be possible in p5r specifically, with the jazz club and prison battle rewards). like Ryuji with Spell Master and Ann with Arms Master and Joker playing completely as support and Morgana not being able to use a single healing spell, stuff like that

Also, I don't actually know if you know this, but the man of the "shady trades" is the father of the kid in front of the darts and pool, you can hear the kid ask to his father the object that the trader later wants, also they have the same jacket

It's very tempting to try to get these finished quicker so I can get more of them out there, but anything more than 1 run a month is probably not sustainable for games that take 50+ hours to complete. Next week's bonus video isn't a challenge run, it's just a fun video I wanted to put together for the heck of it. :)
I'm still in the process of updating the Min-Max Guide. For example, I've just discovered a better way of getting great early-game armour easily and without taking up a time slot. We're gonna have this game PERFECTED. 😀
god I agree about shido’s palace, it’s just too damn long. plus at that point in a normal playthru we’re hitting the 70+ hour mark and I’m usually ready to get to the boss fights and wrap it up 😅 my fave is probably the bank I really love the bg music
I like Shido's palace but it's definitely not the best. My favourite is Sae's Casino, The Whims of Fate is one of the best songs in the whole game, and the aesthetic is awesome. You also have Akechi in the party who's really cool and it's finally to where the game is in the present. ❤❤❤
Even though I understand going merciless for the bonus damage when hitting weakness, hard is simply harder because of the other things merciless has over it. Either way enjoying the content on a bit of a binge right now so keep it up.
I like the idea of making an actual p3p guide that’s usable lol. It’s annoying doing ng+ and somehow still messing up a social link (Always used to be mitsuru I mess up maxing or not having enough points for aigis rank 10
Futaba’s Palace is probably my favorite, closely followed by SPOILERS dungeon in the second semester. I just enjoy the palaces where the big bad shadow or whoever is in charge isn’t a jerk or makes you question if you are doing the right thing ya know? If you do other games, I would love to see a dragon quest 11 run sometime! I would suggest all draconian challenges but that’s kinda been done to death, so instead I believe you can set your allies to AI control, so see if it’s possible to beat the game P3FES style without the hero lifting a finger.

As hard as it would be I am curious on how hard (if even possible) a hard solo challenge run would be. I mean in the end if you just cheese with instakill and stamps everything is possible but lemme explain. The issue here is that merciless is way easier than hard, since although damage numbers are suposedly harsher it's balanced by a crazy weak/crit multiplier, making you able to pull off damage numbers unseen at any point in a hard run. Heck, I only played through royale once but I HAD to switch from hard to merciless on Okumura because I couldn't deal with his goons and it made the fight a complete joke. I would be very interested in seeing such an idea for a run in hard mode, or maybe just solo joker but hard mode. It would make a lot of stuff way harder (like for example that double crit on yusuke's intro fight is not getting you out of jail this time.) Consider it next time you tackle Persona 5, although I understand if you get a bit burnt out of it, digging a bunch of your content although I do favour games I already have at least decent knowledge on, but I'm digging it!
You're totally right, I think Hard would very likely be more difficult than Merciless (for most bosses anyway)! I'll definitely be doing more Persona content soon so stay tuned. 😀

I personally wish you would get the persona to level 99 before using gallows to max their stats. I would rather see how much of the game can be beaten with the stats inherent to the persona and having more effort put into skill management, instead of the middle to late section of the game mostly being a joke because you maxed the persona the instant you could. I don't mind maxing the stats when it's necessary to beat the bosses, but give stuff a try before doing that. I still love these vids. Good job mate

This is (kinda) unrelated to this video but bicorn's moveset isn't all bad like he naturally learns apt pupil which in my opinion is a must for any physical build

My favorite palace is surprisingly the pyramid mostly because of the movement but also because it’s a good easy palace a nice part of the story in between the worst parts of the story. Meanwhile the spaceport is easily my least favorite again because of the music as well as the maze. I finally managed to memorize the path but it still sucks

"I'm sorry I almost risked destroying someone's life by making screams their trauma for a prank" would be more appropriate than "you're welcome"

Criticals are so painful in solo runs Also i find it funny that according to the wiki that purple shido has worse stats than red shido even tho futaba says hes getting stronger
I dont mind Shido's Palace, but I have a personal vendetta against it because it was at that time that my PC began absolutely shitting itself with framerate drops. Ever since Shido's palace, the game became close to fucking unplayable, and Im not sure if my computer is showing its age, or if the PC version is badly optimised. Also at 31:02 Nijima normally picks an element one of your part is weak to, but because you have no weakness, she picks completely randomly. Aleo, Punishing Hail cant freeze to my knowledge, Im fairly certain none of her elemental roulette attacks can inflict status.

I'm still in the process of updating the Min-Max Guide. For example, I've just discovered a better way of getting great early-game armour easily and without taking up a time slot. We're gonna have this game PERFECTED. 😀
god I agree about shido’s palace, it’s just too damn long. plus at that point in a normal playthru we’re hitting the 70+ hour mark and I’m usually ready to get to the boss fights and wrap it up 😅 my fave is probably the bank I really love the bg music

I like Shido's palace but it's definitely not the best. My favourite is Sae's Casino, The Whims of Fate is one of the best songs in the whole game, and the aesthetic is awesome. You also have Akechi in the party who's really cool and it's finally to where the game is in the present. ❤❤❤

Even though I understand going merciless for the bonus damage when hitting weakness, hard is simply harder because of the other things merciless has over it.

Futaba’s Palace is probably my favorite, closely followed by SPOILERS dungeon in the second semester. I just enjoy the palaces where the big bad shadow or whoever is in charge isn’t a jerk or makes you question if you are doing the right thing ya know? If you do other games, I would love to see a dragon quest 11 run sometime! I would suggest all draconian challenges but that’s kinda been done to death, so instead I believe you can set your allies to AI control, so see if it’s possible to beat the game P3FES style without the hero lifting a finger.
Good point about the final palace. Yeah bosses are much more fun when they're morally grey and make you question your actions.

As hard as it would be I am curious on how hard (if even possible) a hard solo challenge run would be. I mean in the end if you just cheese with instakill and stamps everything is possible but lemme explain. The issue here is that merciless is way easier than hard, since although damage numbers are suposedly harsher it's balanced by a crazy weak/crit multiplier, making you able to pull off damage numbers unseen at any point in a hard run. Heck, I only played through royale once but I HAD to switch from hard to merciless on Okumura because I couldn't deal with his goons and it made the fight a complete joke. I would be very interested in seeing such an idea for a run in hard mode, or maybe just solo joker but hard mode. It would make a lot of stuff way harder (like for example that double crit on yusuke's intro fight is not getting you out of jail this time.) Consider it next time you tackle Persona 5, although I understand if you get a bit burnt out of it, digging a bunch of your content although I do favour games I already have at least decent knowledge on, but I'm digging it!
You're totally right, I think Hard would very likely be more difficult than Merciless (for most bosses anyway)! I'll definitely be doing more Persona content soon so stay tuned. 😀

I personally wish you would get the persona to level 99 before using gallows to max their stats. I would rather see how much of the game can be beaten with the stats inherent to the persona and having more effort put into skill management, instead of the middle to late section of the game mostly being a joke because you maxed the persona the instant you could.
I don't mind maxing the stats when it's necessary to beat the bosses, but give stuff a try before doing that.

My favorite palace is surprisingly the pyramid mostly because of the movement but also because it’s a good easy palace a nice part of the story in between the worst parts of the story.
Meanwhile the spaceport is easily my least favorite again because of the music as well as the maze. I finally managed to memorize the path but it still sucks

I dont mind Shido's Palace, but I have a personal vendetta against it because it was at that time that my PC began absolutely shitting itself with framerate drops. Ever since Shido's palace, the game became close to fucking unplayable, and Im not sure if my computer is showing its age, or if the PC version is badly optimised. Also at 31:02 Nijima normally picks an element one of your part is weak to, but because you have no weakness, she picks completely randomly. Aleo, Punishing Hail cant freeze to my knowledge, Im fairly certain none of her elemental roulette attacks can inflict status.
