I walked into a Rolex AD yesterday and saw it person and its beautiful, the AD asked if I wanted to see it in person and told me it just arrived today. I asked is it up for sale and not a show piece, he then replied, do I want to purchase it. We arranged to purchase for cash and now im on my way to the AD to pick up my Daytona Ghost today. This will be my first Rolex watch too.
Both look beautiful. The difference in thinner sub dials in new 4131 movement is only really noticeable when compared to 4130 Daytona side by side. I hope in future Rolex makes all precious metal Daytonas with open case back.
100% Mike I agree it’ll be fun to see more of these beautiful new movements and rotors on new models. Knowing Rolex they’ll give it to us SLOWLY 🤣 like in years haha. I guess we’ll find out in March at watches & wonders 👀
It’s on the dial but absolutely tiny in between the 6 o clock marker on the dial outer ring. It’s on all the new 12 references and not on the 11 references I hope that is helpful 🤝🎉
I just wish the hour markers could be a tad thicker. With that being said I’ve always had a distaste for the old bezel to some degree. This new bezel is the one I’ve always wanted lol but now the hour markers. With that being said I bet in person it’s just fine and would not be too hung up on it.
I get it but they had to change something and it needed to be dramatic! I do sometimes think it’s possible that I’ve been spoiled by spending way too many time wearing the old references. So when something new comes along and it looks different I’m an absolute sucker for it because I feel like I need to change but I realise that I am against the grain especially with collectors and lots of people don’t like change on the Daytona model which is also an interesting fact. Both beauty's but i think i prefer the new version. I prefer the encased bezel and the remodelled indices make the dial look a little bigger, well to my eyes at least. Thanks Oscar👍

I’m enjoying this upgrade particularly Nick as so far it certainly seems well received amongst a lot of us. The nod to the zenith days is the icing on the cake.
Awesome review. I have the 126519ln，it does have a flatter case back compare to the 11series, but I measured the thickness is 12mm not 11.5mm. And the glidelock is really useful!
Another excellent video Oscar. The more I see the new 4131 Daytonas the more I like them. The new case and redesigned lugs looks a lot neater, and the thinner, longer indices look better IMO. The ceramic insert within the metal outer bezel is the cherry on the cake! It makes the watch appear bigger, although it isn’t and just seems better proportioned overall.
Andrew I couldn’t have put it better myself absolutely agreed on all fronts. The agressvid stance on the lugs one me over INSTANTLY when I got it on the wrist. Always a lot of controversy with the Daytona fans and changing that particular model but they’ve absolutely nailed it. Thanks so much for taking part in the discussion it means the world to me 👊🎉

The white gold oysterflex cases were never asymmetrical, what were you talking abt? The case profile changes were just for steel and yellow gold models.

i cant see the coronet at 6 you mentiion in the video. are you referring to the etched laser that many have or is it on the dial itself?

Dial looks bigger and case even feels bigger as the lugs reshape in my opinion was the killer upgrade! Heavenly now ✅
