How do you make money without a job? One important thing about making money is that no matter what you choose to do - it will always require one of two things. All of these investments will demand your time, or you can invest your money but generally you’re not going to make money for free without having some sort of an upfront commitment of one of those two.
Most of us choose to invest our time for money which is why the average person in the US will work 7 to 8 hours a day, which is anywhere between 35 to 40 hour work weeks. And if you take that and multiply that by the amount of years we spend working you get 11,250 days or roughly 90,000 hours and that represents roughly a third of our entire lifetime - that we spend at work. Let's make that time shorter.
My favorite way of making money without working. Dividend investing.
WHAT IS IT?
Dividends allow you to literally make money while you sleep because you buy stocks and make money without having to sell the stocks themselves. Some dividend stocks can pay weekly like SoFi’s new WKLY ETF that pays weekly, some can pay monthly, some quarterly or 4 times a year, some semi annually which twice a year, and some pay you one big lump sum once a year. Dividend investing is the best way to start investing for beginners because it gives a lot of comfort knowing that despite what the price of the stock might be, as long as the company is profitable, the stock will continue to pay you money based on the price you bought at.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you bought Coca Cola at $100 a share and it was paying you 4% quarterly, that means you’d make $4 per year, paid quarterly, so you would be paid $1 every 3 months in this case until it totaled $4. And if Coca Cola was to ever go down in value to say $50 a share, your $100 original investment would still pay you $4 a year. How cool!
THINGS I LOOK FOR:
First I look for companies with a dividend safety score of about 61 and up, this means that the dividend income is considered safe. The higher up you go, the safer it becomes and generally speaking the safer the score, the less the yield, and less safe an investment is the more it pays. More risk more reward.
I also look for a dividend yields of between 2-5%. I found that this is my Goldilocks zone that’s not too cold but not too hot, it’s just the right amount because it falls within the 4% retirement rule which is how most people base their retirement withdrawal rate with the goal that you will never run out of money.
I also look for P/E ratios of 20 and under, nowadays everything is becoming much more expensive cause inflation is not real - so it won’t be easy to find that but all a P/E tells you is how cheap or expensive a stock is just make sure you compare P/Es of stocks in the same industry, don’t compare Tesla to Walmart or something.
I look for a payout ratios of 60% or less, that means of all the money a company makes, it should not be paying investors more than 60% unless it’s a REIT, this is because, fun fact, REITS are by law required to distribute 90% of all the taxable income to their shareholders, so if you own a stock that’s considered a REIT, a real estate investment trust that’s when the payout ratio is acceptably higher.
WHY NOT 10% YIELDS?
Because your income becomes at more risk of being cut. If you're younger, you may want to consider investing in dividend growth companies which can yield a smaller 2% yield, but grow at 15-20% growth rate.

That's how life works. Takes cash to make cash
2020 was all about survival with many achievements not met but you have to be ready for 2021 and it begins right now by making a move to achieve your goals. If you have been saving and it's not really getting you to want to be, then invest that money in Bitcoin today for a better life tomorrow. If you can't fly run, if you can't run walk, if you can't walk crawl but just try and move to achieve your goals.
You're right, recession, economic crisis, loss of jobs due to Covid19 pandemic is enough to make people venture into investments

*ill try my best to get my first career job in finance, trying to be a financial anaylst. I think my path to "wealth" is to invest into Btcoin using VLADIMIRCORP , then eventoully into real estate and well guess ill just follow this video from there haha! Some people choose the make their own business route, i think im going the old fashion 9-5, save up money and invest, which is exactly what my professor did to be in the 6-8% bracket of America.
Thanks to you and Graham I started investing in ETFSs, as well as AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, Verizon and Vodafone, seeing some money come in every month, as well as the growth of the ETFs feels amazing and makes me want to invest more. So thanks, you're the one who opened my eyes to dividend investing.

It all starts with $100 or less a week. If you arnt willing to sacrifice that you will never see the $200 or even $500/week. We all start in different places, even if its $10/week go for it and worst case scenario you'll be responsible for leaving those around you in a better starting position than you were given :)
Many people can reorganize their budget to manage at least a few hundred a month. Not saying everyone, but many. If you want to try to get out of the rat race, try budgeting to have more money left at the end of the month, and/or also invest in yourself to try to get a higher paying job. I don't know your unique situation, but you might have more options than you think and just need to put in the work to figure out a budget and path to a better financial situation.
Trading Bitcoin right now should be on everything wise individuals list. In few minutes you'll be ecstatic with the decision you've made today

Btw, although doing RUclips does take a lot of work, the "passive" potential income one could make from it, especially from making videos on topics one enjoys is incredible!
More recently, thanks to you, I've been loving the interest earned on my crypto on Blockfi! And I'd been dollar-cost averaging into BTC, ETH, and index funds! Another thing I've been liking is covered calls! I sell calls at prices I'd be comfortable selling a stock anyway (that I want to rebalance out of soon), so if even if they execute, I'm not too salty!
I get the part about falling into a depression. It's a slow, sneaky process. Keep up the good work. Great channel!

I was a Patreon sub for him for a while. I didn't find it worth it. The only real value is the spreadsheet he mentions in this video, the rest of the time there was no additional content on Patreon and the spreadsheet is clunky, and there are little in the way of instructions on how to use it, and that's even if you can find the "current up to date" version. At the time I was a Patreon sub, there were two versions floating around and tons of people asking which is the correct version and how to get it to work with no reply or assistance.
I wonder if with this video it is showing that he is struggling to keep Patreon subs around, if so hopefully he will realize there is a big disconnect there from him to the subs and he will work on that. This was months ago that I was there so maybe it's different now.

The only downside is if a company cuts it's dividend and you are reliant on that for income
Well the con is you need to work for the funds to seriously Jumpstart your dividends account. Takes tens of thousands just to make a couple hundred a year with dividend investing. Selling covered calls and cash secured puts are the future for passive income.
