I have listened to classical music (and no other genre) for over 40 years. Through all life's challenges, I have always been able to pick my time as a listener and lose myself in it. (I also play the piano a little). - So I watch the 'broken pedal' video which leads me to the Chopin Etude posting. - What a facility of technique!! The tempo for this Rachmaninov is very slightly slower than I am used to, but that brings out the beauty of the piece. I am so, so impressed with Eliane Rodrigues!! Wish there were more postings.

An outstanding performance by Eliane Rodrigues and matched by Maestro Serov and the LSO. Eliane and the orchestra preformed at precisely the right tempo (unlike so many others who attempt much more rapid speed) bringing out the passion Rachmaninoff intended. I have heard dozens of performances of this piece since I was a child but this one is with out a doubt the most satisfying both performance wise and recording wise. And the Fazioli F-308 piano is without equal as I have told Eliane privately many times.
Eliane, from one pianist to another....BRAVO....absolutely magnificent playing. What I really like about your playing, is that you do not take your tempi at break-neck speeds or keep the tempi more concise and "to the beat", and I REALLY hear the music coming through "da sua alma". There is SO much passion in Rachmaninov, and you really exemplify this. You know (and of course your conductor too was brilliant) in adapting the various tempi to the "bigger picture". Beautiful job!

Bravo Eliane! Saber que temos pianista tão talentosa, capacitada e inspirada é uma das poucas coisas que me dá orgulho de ser brasileiro. Tamanha técnica e fluência interpretativa a colocam no altar sagrado dos fenômenos que a Natureza produz tão raramente. Almas capazes de se darem a dedicação intensa que a Música exige e que são anjos que desceram até aqui para nos provar que existe algo mais do que as ilusões carnais e a sede de poder. Parabéns.

Als eerste wil ik zeggen dat ik alles wat ik van haar heb gehoord altijd heel mooi vond vanaf het concour Elisabeth in 1984? en alles wat daar op volgde. Haar 3de pianosonate van Chopin meer dan indrukwekkend !!! De 32ste van Beethoven ook groots. Door haar ben ik ook van Villa-Lobos gaan houden. De Etudes van Chopin die ik van haar gehoord heb in Rotterdam waren ook een onvergetelijke ervaring. Als ze in Rotterdam in de Doelen speelde (Kerst) was het ook altijd Feestelijk. Ze kan eigenlijk alles spelen en ze is een beminnelijk Musica pur sang en een innemend mens. Een pianiste met een drukke agenda is zij natuurlijk ook als keihardwerkend vrouw. En daar ligt het misschien aan. Zelf heb ik het pianospelen wel eens een tijdje verlaten -een pauze genomen- en het daarna weer opgenomen. Ik weet dat muziek altijd mijn eerste en eeuwige liefde is maar ook dat heeft pauzes nodig.
