FYI you got pretty lucky with a heated floor...that is definitely not common ;) Especially on older houses (they didn't care about thermal efficiency of a house until 10 or 5 years ago) you'll find only radiators. Yours is either a recent house or a renovated one.
Wow!! It was so cool to see how different it is compared to the states!! It’s beautiful and I’m beyond excited to see how you decorate it- you are the decorating queen 😊💕
Omg your house is amazing! We get there this may/June and I am so excited!! I’m originally from Germany but have been to Italy many times but never lived there… I pray we find a beautiful house similar to yours!!
That heater in the bathroom it’s connected to central heating, usually in Italy, in the bathroom, there isn’t floor heating but those “towel rack” style heaters. If you need more “power” for your appliances you can ask your energy provider for an improved (and more costly) contract, the standard one is 3KW here (if you get used to it’s not a problem)
Such a pretty house! Deffinaly love the kitchen living room areas. I think heated floors are pretty common in Europe from a RUclips family I watch in wales.
That house is BEAUTIFUL! Houses in Italy is way different than the states. I went to visit my best friend the beginning of last year before the pandemic started. So I was just completely amazed! I’ll have to recommend some restaurants we went to which were so cute! Also, please do a video of “Things I wish I knew before PCSing overseas!” As we want to PCS overseas. We had germany then lost our orders.
Yes! Please share the restaurants you ate at, we’d love to try them! I love getting video recommendations from my subscribers, I’ll add it to the list! Thank you☺️
I love your house and how tailored it is to y’all’s needs! How did you find the home if you don’t mind me asking? Did you go through a real estate agent?
Hi welcome!☺️ There are two main websites people like to use when it comes to house hunting. AHRN.com is one & then the other is homes.mil . There are also a lot of helpful Facebook pages too!
Hi Brittany 😍 my husband just received the order to move to Aviano😍😍😍 and I totally love this house. Are you still in Aviano?? Did you find this house before leaving the states?
@@brittanyyycampbelll thank you for your answer...🤩 it's a good news, so I don't need to be worried about it. maybe we'll meet in Aviano🤗. we are going in January.
Thank you for this video! The house is beautiful! We might be pcsing there. I think I heard you say you have a dog, is there dog sitters there that everyone uses for when you're traveling?
Hi! Thank you so much for watching! I’d love it if you subscribed ☺️ We have 1 cat & 1 dog so when traveling there are people here who offer to pet sit while you’re gone! ☺️
Very cute house! I think i like the kitchen the most, and the backyard of course. What a great space for a dog. Did you film a video about your hotel quarantine too, like a day in your life in quaranrine? I'm kind of obsessed with those now. A whole new genre of youtube videos, thanks to covid lol
When you PCS over seas did you have to put a down payment on the home or was this part of the BAH? I’m thinking of joining the Air Force so trying to get all the info I can. Thanks in advanced! I hope I get to go to Italy! So cool!
Ahhh you got such a good house!!! The Italian bathrooms really shocked me the first time I saw pics online lmao! How long did it take you guys to find this place??
All of the color shocked me at first too! I’m a neutrals kinda gal, but since all the color is contained in the bathrooms I don’t mind🤣 This was the 3rd house we looked at during Steven’s 10 days of house hunting leave so it didn’t take that long!
Our house is definitely a bit more "americanized" than the majority of other homes you'll see in Italy lol. The best place to look for a home will be on ahrn.com and homes.mil
Ahh! I love your ceilings so much! We’ll be heading to aviano next year and I hope we find a house this cute! If you don’t mind me asking, is it far from base?
@@brittanyyycampbelll I see! I’ve never been to Italy and this will be the first time. It’s the base in Capuchino were my hubs will work. We are civilians. I am so excited.
I'm confused, it's a high end, restructured furnished italian country house, probably a couple of thousand euros a month, part of an italian inheritance... some aviano family. What's the big deal, considering you won't be in there more than a year. Leave the decorating to not decorating, just don't damage anything. You're there to be soaked.
First of all welcome to Italy for your deployment, sure you came across a very nice villa with a big garden and a separate building as a garage. Let make this clear, in Italy and generally, in Europe, we have a different perception of what amount of space a family really needs. So even a big house generally hasn't more than 3 bedrooms. Even the square feet of every single bedroom is very different from the States. So guys be prepared for a different cultural approach to the concept of "size"...after 4 years, at the end of your deployment, you'll be totally adapted to our "dimensions".this being said 172 square feet are our standard 16 square meters ( be prepared to our metric system, very easy btw)for a master bedroom, for the children we usually scale down to 139 square feet or about 12 square meters. Our windows are the best in the world, from lamellar wood to mixed wood aluminum or PVC with double or triple pane with mono frame including shutters and insects screen. As for our heating system forget about your typical floor ventilation system, by convection. We use a different approach, radiant heat is more comfortable than hot air which flies fast to the ceiling. Our radiant floors, while keeping homogeneous temperature all around, make you feel cozy and comfortable because radiant heat is basically reflected by the mass of a body as infrared radiation which is nice on the skin. Probably you noted our homes aren't built in wood. Yes, residential buildings here in Europe, but particularly in Italy, are built with a mainframe of reinforced concrete and big bricks with external insulation made with styrofoam panels, 5 inches tick, which are then plastered with a specially designed mortar. Internally we use counter walls made of drywall plates on a metallic frame which in the States is a code required only for commercial buildings. Electric systems are connected to a 220 volts outlet, not your regular 110 or 120 volts. As for the AC, we don't use a centralized system with dedicated conduits, but we use split based system with a couple of split units on a different zone. I hope this long post will help you guys from overseas to be familiar with our residential building perspective...and enjoy the beautiful Italy
Great VIDEO, what was the cost per month with water and electricity? Thanks

This is so nice for overseas housing!! You have so much storage compared to others I’ve seen. Love the colors as well 💓
We definitely got super lucky💗
Wow, I absolutely love that house!! The coloring in the upstairs bathroom is adorable.
I wish the upstairs color theme was downstairs, because I like those colors more too lol
obsessed is an understatement!!!!!!!
You’re gonna have to come visit💗

I assume your husband has been in awhile can you cover more housing areas? Like when you get the chance even old bases you’ve been at!
I have another house tour from our last base on my channel as well!
Do you mind saying if this is at or significantly above the housing allowance? Just wondering what to expect
