Many openpilot users are so amazed by the enhancement of their drivers assistance that they overlook or ignore this small but grave negative. I do recall a hackathon “pass through” project that took into account parallax, but I may be remembering it wrong? Still, that would be a Invincible meme moment of “look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power”.
Welcome back. First time that I've seen an installation video from you. Installation videos sometimes have the same charm that Transformers reviews have because of in-depth user experience and awkward camera angles. Speaking of which, I wonder if you collected Transformers back in the day. 7:59: Come on. That made me think back to when I used to have forehead acne in high school.
Tony! Awesome to hear back from you, as always. I think I had one or two Transformers growing up, but my parents spoiled me in different ways, just not in toys lol And yeah, I was a crater-face myself so I hear ya. 😂
@@bryan.deleon Hope that this unit doesn't drain too much power from your vehicle compared to others. Do you remember which Transformers characters were in your lineup? I remember buying my first Optimus Prime figure on my own in 2011. My 2nd Prime was in 2014. Both were bought on discount. I've discovered that shaving my head often greatly reduced my forehead acne because no oily hair touched my forehead.
@@tonyc.0451 lol man I vaguely remember it being a Optimus Prime variation as my first? But my most memorable was the Ninja Turtle's that transformed, I think it was a collab? Regarding the power drain, I just realized I have a solar panel on my hood now, that acts as trickle charger when I don't have it charging my battery bank... so the test is a bit moot.
@@bryan.deleon Seems that you have that base covered regarding test drives. Less worry about being out of juice. Hasbro teased an upcoming Ninja Turtles-themed Party Wallop figure that goes from robot to turtle van and has 4 alternate heads.
While It's likely your airbag would blow the wire away, it's probably better to cross over at the bottom and tuck it under the trim on the windshield side rather than going across the airbag at the top 5:06
I may investigate if possible… having worked in that area before I’m not sure if my hands can fit AND tuck wires though - also unlikely there is enough cable for it too. I actually installed my Comma cables behind the air bag before… but at this rate it’s not worth the risk, and like you said… the force the bags deploy at far exceed the integrity of the wire install.
@@bryan.deleon I know you said you only have the unit temporarily so I guess it makes sense not to mess with trim. I think SideCar advises installing this way too though. And yes, if you're going to actually go behind the airbag, you need to disconnect the car battery to be really safe, which is a big hassle.
If Epilog Sidecar makes a molded plastic case for each specific model, then for my Honda Freed I will never get an autopilot from them (((. It’s possible that in the prototype they left a lot of space inside, but for production I would make a smaller case
14:15 yup that was my main concern too, comma device blocking the pedestrian view when i make a right turn

YOU PUTED THIS VIDEO SO QUICK. SUPER !
Test drive footage will be edited soon too.
I’m super excited to see how this will work in comparison to the comma 3. The design is already a clear winner. Love how it’s so stealth.
I’m currently editing the first drive atm, so stay tuned! And yes, I totally agree with the form factor being better.
First test drive is up! ruclips.net/video/yo144P_KnP4/видео.htmlsi=vLsx0Uy6ypOw9UPZ
@@bryan.deleonI’m watching it right now. Lol. About 20 mins into it. Pretty epic that you have the first test drive by an actual civilian user.

Hola tengo un coche toyota auris 2018 quería saber si sidicar funcionaria me coche?
Hola amigo, puedes verificar si tu coche es compatible aquí: drivesidecar.com/compatibility
Bro, just get a hairdryer out and heat the mount from the other side.
And then use a credit card to pry it out anyway?
