Morning friends! 👋 When was the last time you had your A1c tested?
I can't remember my A1c.
December
Hi Kait, if my a1c is 5.3 but Insulin is 17 mU/L. What does it mean?
February 2024 and it was 6.1%😅😅
@jingulu insulin above 3 signifies insulin resistance. Insulin resistance begins years before fasting blood sugar and A1c go up.
Thanks so much, Kait, my recent A1c was 6.5 from 8.1, I also dropped 50 points off fasting blood sugar! You're the best!
Hi Kait, my a1c was 5.2 2weeks a go I do intermittent fasting, and use apple cider vinegar, and minimize carbs maximize protein. 🙂☕👍
KILLING IT 👏
Me too, it's been that for about 5 years
@@carwoman43 SMASHING IT 👏
Thank you so much for all you do and help us. I tested 5.7 last week. In March I changed my diet, getting rid of most of the breads, pasta and watching my sugar intake. I have lost 30 lbs. and 4 inches around my waist. I have my A1c tested every 4 months. My triglyserides have always been at a great level. I am 74 years old and have noticed a huge change in my 70's. I have to watch everything a lot closer than when I was younger. I do walk 2-3 miles every morning. And lift free weights at least 4 days a week. Still working on that pesky A1c though.
1. Drink ACV
2. Take walk in the morning
3. Get good sleep
4. Priorities animal protein
5. Intermittent fasting
6. Reduce stress
Got my A1C down from 10.7 down 5.6 in three months thru low carb diet, intermittent fasting(12-6 window), and a CGM(paired with a bit of OCD with watching my numbers). Working now to lower my fasting number consistently under 110. It can be done!!! The CGM was a game changer.
Hello, can you please tellme what OCD and CGM means?
I eat 2 times a day in a 6 hour window, usually between 12 & 6pm. I have been using ACV with the mother for 3 years, I add some spices in like cinnamon, tumeric, black pepper, cayenne pepper. I lost 8 kg and now my weight is stable and rarely changes. Also walking helps me and keeps the mind healthy.
I'm 71 male, A1C 5.3, Triglycerides 48, HDL 78, LDL 47. Take no drugs, no corrective vision, great teeth, no grey hair and in perfect health. Basically unprocessed natural/organic foods. Two FULL meals a day. Very fast metabolism. And occasionally willing and able to socialize with people with their type of regular foods and drink habits.
Hahaha, I believe everything said except the Gray hair.
@@Hippy2021 Asian or Latino. My father in law in Native American Mestizo from Central America and he is in his 70s and still has jet black hair. Most men do at that age, more indian blood them more so.
haha like grey hair is a minus. most guys bald after 45
I had my A1C tested last week. It was 5.1 🙌🏾
👏👏
Me too!
That's amazing!
That’s great! What did you do to get it down
@@maryleslie2019 Hi Mary! I got it down by cutting carbs and intermittent fasting. I hope that helps 💜
Thanks for your video, just by watching your videos and diets helped me out a lot. I was pre diabetic and from 6.5 but after watching your videos and following your diet helped me reserve to 5.2 your videos are doing a change for the better thank you!
Hi Kait, my A1C was 7.5 in October of 2023. As, of July I'm at 6.3.
How did you do this ?
I have been a huge fan since finding you a few years ago. Because of you, I started on Berberine and saw so much success. Thank you! I've had fasting blood sugar taken every 3 months with regular blood work. Because of you, I had my A1c also taken and I stopped the Berberine for a month beforehand. WOW! My fasting glucose was 98 but my A1c is 5.9. This cannot happen. I am nearing 60 and was always very healthy until becoming disabled a decade ago. I cannot walk far and trying to find some kind of aerobic activity is hard. Right now, our heat index is 105 and we are staying in. I've restarted Berberine, drinking a ton of water and trying out these ways to try to lower it. I will do the 12/12 fasting, I also have cortisol issues right now, eating protein and working on non starchy veggies. Anything else you can think of that might help?
Hi my A1c is constantly stuck at 7.2 and I’m frustrated. I’ve had diabetes nearly 40 years and am battling severe sleep apnea which has made me obese because my body can’t sleep or repair correctly. I have an annoying condition of being always hungry. And I admit it’s my eating out of turn that contributes to my elevated blood sugars most of the time. Im getting my tonsils out early October and hope that cures my obstructive sleep apnea and I do plan on attacking my weight then. I did have my A1c down to 6.8 for 5 months with aggressive insulin therapy. I know I need to get back to that I’m just stuck in some bad habits like you said being often hungry due up the fact I never get good sleep which really does add fuel to the fire. Thank you
@kathrynflaxbeard have you changed to keto diet? That alone should help to give you the satiety to successfully intermittent fast.
FANTASTIC INFO!! - Thanks for the the A1C numbers (0:07) I never knew this which is great for losing weight. You have got many good things going for ya Kaitie - 1. being your smart 2. You are a beaufy - what a WINNING combination! Thanks for all your time and everything that you do for us. Takes a lot to edit and put out quality info . Love your channel keep up the great work (appreciated). Does apple cider vinegar break a fast?
I have been as high at 7.1 but my last a1c in may was 6.8 so I am hoping this next test in Oct will be in the 5's we will see. Thanks Kait
I'm on a ketovore diet. Went from 204 to 160, no Ozempic face. Goal is 130. Shout out to all the amazing carnivore docs on RUclips like Dr. Ken Berry and so many others.
Hi Kaiti, still working on my A1C , I was 5.5 in march, excited about the next blood work in sept. !! God Bless ❤
In 2021 I tried fasting and low carb. My A12 was 10. After a month it was at 7 and I lost 15 lbs. I’m trying to get back to it. I’m 54 and I want to live longer than my mom did.
Please can you tell me your daily routine. I'm 44 yr and A1C 10%
Congratulations! That’s a huge achievement! I just started the fast myself a couple of days ago.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thanks Kate! I need this!
I had mine checked last month, 5.8
Love your content... Just joined Tier 2 to start. Happy to be aboard.
thank you so much kait, always support you!
I’m 78 years old, my A1C was 7.1 brought to 6.4. I lost no weight. I have dawn phenomenon. A1C is still high. Runs 130 -145. My glucose runs normal rest of the day. I don’t take any medication. Please give any recommendations.
My A1C was 6 the last bloodwork, now I am doing intermittent fasting my first meal 12 noon I stop at around 6 or 7. I also go to the gym before my first meal, I get tested again in Nov.
Hey Kate, I've asked a few RUclips people this question before but haven't gotten any response. I work overnight so my sleep schedule is f'ed up as you can imagine. So I have questions about when to eat, the dawn phenomenon ect.. any info would help. Thanks, the Pittsburgh Penguins fan!!
I’m going to do a full podcast on sleep and talk about shift work! It’ll be up in the next few weeks 🫶
Great tips.
Thank you for the in fomation
Reducing stress in this post covid inflationary time is definitely not easy
Thanks kait!!!!
Thanks
thank you kait
I do walking and low carb, trying eat good fats. Also have used intermittent fast to the point that my body adjusts to just 1 meal a day,, thats just how it works.
My a1c was 5.9 over a year ago. Doing keto and fasting and acv. Now it is 6.5 and rising.
Any changes since?
My A1C is 5.9 and quite eating bread pastas all soft drinks 3 months ago. I also started eating whole foods and my A1C is still 5.9 . I lost 30 pounds in the 3 months . I just heard that glucose stays on blood cells for months and A1C will stay the same until blood cells die and are replaced by new ones , is that true?
love you information
I think your videos are super informative, thank you. Just FYI, item #1 says "Prioritize Protein" but you're talking about Apple Cider Vinegar.
How soon after eating should we go for walk should it be immediately after eating or 30 minutes after eating? My age is 38 my hba1c is at 6.2% now. I would like to know instead of taking metformin n insulin after meal does walking lower blood glucose and mimic what insulin metformin do to lower blood glucose
I take the apple cider vinegar capsuls. Is that as good as having to drink the awful tasting liquid?
Yeh not much difference I just swig it down 😊
People, low carb or very low carb + high fat is the key. The rest will help you tweak your results for sure. But very low carb is first, far before anything else.
I hade them all before in the beginning , 5 injections per day. Now im alright, almost. 2 injections per Day, but still pain in my hands and restless legs
Don't worry if you are diabetic or prediabetic only focus on ur healthy diet and cutt down processed food and stay active all day ...drink more water and stay happy and relax .... every thing will be fine with you.....
My A1c is 6.1 down from 6.2. I'm having a
Hard time because I'm craving sugar so much. Do you have any suggestions?
My HBA1C is above 10. Can I reverse my diabetics? I'm worried about this report.
Walk before breakfast or after breakfast
Can't do morning walks. I work from 3 am to 12:30 pm
To do what you recommend I'd have to quit my job...
12.5 😬in June. Doctor has me on Mounjaro. Will test again in September.
🙏
I started Mounjaro last week 2.5mg.
Combine the Mounjaro with an alternate day fasting routine and you’ll be successful. I lost 80 pounds that way.
is lemon juice a GOOD alternative for ACV?
No, you would have to drink a lot of it to get the same effect. I’m talking like the juice of multiple lemons 🥲
I definitely get dawn phenomenon every day. Very aggravating!
I know what you mean
It’s not a bad thing! It’s your body giving you energy to wake you up. As long as you’re controlling blood sugar overall it’s ok 🙂
that is why I eat breakfast after my morning walk, since insulin is up might as well eat
How long does it take normally to get your glucose down.
Madam I lowered my Hba1c from 7.2 to 5.1 in 3 months (April 24 to July 24). But my uric acid is increased.
I am nonalcoholic pure vegetarian. I followed 16:8 fasting and 1 hour walking too.
Please guide.
My HbA1C was 5.1% - normal, but my fasting glucose is 5.68mmol / 102mg/dL = prediabetes,so I'm confused, am I prediabetic or ok?
My fasting insulin is
My A1C was 6.8 in May 2024 but FBS 94
What does it mean
i drink alcohol two drinks twice a week ,is this the reason my HBA1C NOT COMING DOWN it;s 10.3
What kind of apple cider vinegar or brand
Any liquid vinegar works
I thought it was best to drink ACV first thing in the morning ?
Both morning and night can have benefits! Drinking before bed brings down fasting numbers the following morning 😁
How much water to ACV ratio?
Can we do acv pills instead of drinking it? I did it for 3 months in the morning with minimal improvements and I don't want to drink it anymore.
The capsules are not as effective as the liquid and often contain sugar and filler... which is counter productive to the benefits 😥
@@HealthCoachKaitthanks for the response! Bragg's makes one with no sugar but I do see starch in the ingredients.
Glucose and fasting insulin normal range why A1C Ranging 5.8 to 6.1? Daily walk 5km in the morning.
Im sorry ACV never worked for me , tried it before meals and before bed noticed no difference after.
Would increasing healthy fats also help? I think I’m not eating enough fat.
Yes! Check out my video on how to build meals for insulin resistance/better blood sugar ruclips.net/video/RqxTQvDswcA/видео.htmlsi=3r68-IYKyr_44DB7
Hi kait, I have low sugar (24 the lowest) and very high cholesterol (495 highest). I get a racing pulse after I have any healthy fat and wake up in the morning with palpitations, morning is the only time I wake up with low sugar. Please advice
I'm not Kate, but I just had this issue myself. Have you had your thyroid tested? You could be sub clinically hypothyroidic. Once I got on thyroid medication my blood sugar stopped going so low
@@lynnrobin9988 okay I will do the test and check the results. Thank you
What about apple cider vinegar gummies?
Avoid! Loaded with sugar which is the opposite of what you want. Even capsules without sugar aren’t as effective as the liquid.
I am beyond frustrated with my A1c level being at 9.5 no matter what I do is not coming down.
What have you tried?
@@HealthCoachKait lot of different things. I went back in my insulin pump after experimenting taking hand injections.
Have you been taking insulin throughout? Insulin makes insulin resistance worse, which could be why your A1c is still high. I have a video on why insulin injections are only beneficial for type 1 diabetes ruclips.net/video/zU-nRl85rlc/видео.htmlsi=4N-O8TMjDV42BiOr
@@HealthCoachKait thanks Katie . I’m thinking about doing the bury pills 💊 to see if it helps with insulin resistance.
@@WhoamI-b89I did all the things too and it helped the first few months. Last few months numbers haven’t budged. I’m pretty sure for me it’s thyroid. Low thyroid causes high cholesterol and a1c.
Hello! I just read an article that said sage helps with insulin resistance. Have you learned anything about that? Is this true?
Interesting haven’t heard that before! Do you have the article?
@@HealthCoachKait I will see if I can find it. If so, I'll share the link here. Hold please!
I should've said the article says it MAY help. Sorry for the misinformation!
How much ACV before bed?
1 tbsp
My A1c was 5.4 on high fat, high protein and low carb. But was 4.8 when I was eating 250+g carbs with lowish (not low) fat. Cause?
There's a theory those who are low carb or Carnivore, their red blood cells lifespan is longer, which is what A1C glucose is a part off. So your A1C maybe higher on this doet which is not a bad thing. You just can use the standard ranges because you're on a different level.
Two weeks ago: 5.3
I have a reading of 6.2 a1c . I dont work and eat terrible I'm a 42 f
Average 6/7. Always walk after a meal
I had to stop fasting because it raised my cortisol levels so high making me stress more
You know your body best! You don’t have to fast to lower you A1c
Me too
Maybe you’re not eating enough during your window
Please use the Numbers for "Normal People" An A1c of 5.2 is still an average blood sugar of 103mg/dl.
The World Health organization says "The expected values for normal fasting blood glucose concentration are between 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L) and 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L). When fasting blood glucose is between 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) changes in lifestyle and monitoring glycemia are recommended."
Optimal would be 70-100mg/dl. The 5.2 to 5.6% A1c is only normal once you've been diagnosed with diabetes!!!
Well of course fasting blood sugar will be higher after few hours of sleep than longer hours. Fasting time is much smaller...
I just wonder why don´t you recommend to drop carbs down. Low carb diet helps most. If you want faster results than keto or carnivore will work the best.
I reversed my insuline resistanse with keto in three months. And the numbers were idealic. Just ditch the carbs and you´ll gain more health benefits that you can ever guess.
I´ve been over 16 months on keto and it is a heslthy lifestyle for me, not just quick diet.
There are some researches that say intermittent fasting can lead to higher cardiovascular diseases.. Is it true?
Overwhelmingly the evidence points to it being beneficial for heart health. One study means nothing if it cannot be replicated.
👏👏👏👏👌👌🌺🌹❤️
❤️❤️
HbA1c should not be used to diagnose diabetes, but it can be used to monitor and track known diabetes.
If I am intermittent fasting and usually end my eating window at 6:00 pm, won't a bedtime dose of ACV break it? How do I get around that what is 30 G?
ACV doesn’t break a fast 😁 I have videos on what 30g of protein looks like
I tried to drink small amounts before bed. In the night i got the sweats and tremors. Not for me!
Wow I wonder why that happened! Are you ok with ACV at other times during the days?
Its hard to take someone with a bone in their nose seriously!
What on earth does this mean 😂😂
@@HealthCoachKait It means unobservant, ignorant, judgmental people have yet to go extinct. Thanks for your video Kait! May many be helped through it.
U Promte non veg😢
Correct! I don’t recommend relying on plants for protein ❤️
Before you bang on about crap 1. Are you talking about Type 1 or type2. Type 2 is easy to fix stop eating crap lose weight and get off your back side and fasting. It's that simple.
Type 2 🫶
Kait, can you please make a video on your thoughts on GLP1s? I would appreciate it very much.
