@@morrigans_cottage Yes Aisling our little fur babies seem to look so bad when sick then just like that they seem to just bounce back, I thought Harvey was on his way out last year as having seizures and completely stiff, I was at a loss as to what was happening. But vet visit and meds he was like a new dog 2 days later. took me longer lol, Big hugs xxxxx to you and yours. xxx Dede
What a bloody awful time You've had. Firstly, don't apologise for being you and waffle as much as you want. The only good thing is her cherry eye was sorted as you would never have forgiven yourself if it had blinded her. She does look like she's been through the mill poor little love but I guarantee you feel much worse than she does. Bainne got the innocent face going on 😂. What a pain your plans are ruined but have a lovely relaxing time with the family and if you can give us an update on herself and nan it's appreciated but you just look after yourself and princess, you have enough to worry about. I still have a headache I think I must have hurt my brain for all the sobbing LOL! Thankfully Morri is doing even better today than yesterday. Nan is also doing better, she is out of ICU but unfortunately has a couple things going on that will have her in hospital over Christmas. I'm not surprised you have a headache. Crying is good, let's the stress out but try and just chill as best you can which is hard with the worry you have. Cats are very sensitive to change and mine reacted the same way if any of my other animals have had surgery ..should improve with time ..I'm sure everything will turn out fine ❤

Oh Ais, that little face, it melts my heart. What a nightmare situation and thank goodness you acted so quickly getting Morri to the vet. You know your baby and knew something was wrong with your past experience from working in the eye clinic. Morri will be comforted having you by her side but you mind yourself too. I wonder if Bainne is off color because she can sense Morri isn't herself but also can smell the meds and scents from vets etc. About the videos, don't worry because I for one enjoy the renovation stuff but its only part of tge reason I follow along, you, your fur babies and your life story are the other reason I enjoy your content. Best to Morrie, she'll be ok and if there are visual deficits, you and Morrie will deal with it ❤ As to why your cat reacted to Morrie that way after surgery is normal. Morrie has been in a hospital and has had surgery and under anesthesia and your cat is aware that there's something different because of her keen senses, the smells of a different place and anesthesia smells,etc. She may be put off for a bit. Be patient. And don't put bad vibes on her, they were sibling playing and an accident happened. Be kind and positive. Best to you all!

It sounds like the eye injury saved Morrigan's eyes and sight. I understand the stress of furbabies when they aren't well. She's going get the best care ever with you being home. I always wondered what animal eye doctors did. Now I know. We will watch Morrigan updates if you want to post!
It really is so stressful, I'm trying to stay calm and trust the process that her eyes are on the mend but I'm no doctor and just not sure! Omg let me tell you, that clinic was sooooo busy! So many dogs in getting things done to their eyes!

Something similar happened to my cat after a cat fight . It was over Xmas and her eye was weeping and they just thought she had a cold . Then it looked like her pupil had blown and I thought she was dying of a stroke. Emergency vet happened to be an eye specialist who was amazing and took a great deal of interest in her . Thank goodness for pet insurance.
Oh goodness your poor cat, I hope she is ok now ❤️ I know, pet insurance really is a life saver! I am hoping Morri's will kick in and cover some of the costs!

Awe, sweet Morgan, here's a quick, funny but not really. Here goes a stray cat ended up at our window for days till we took her to the vet . She settled in. Okay, i thought till one day she jumped at me, causing my arm to swing to the back of my back, hense shoulder came out of socket surgery happened afew years later making homemade beer slipped from the table again shoulder came out of socket this time emergency room . Next was in Chicago, another emergency room visit now lets hope to goodness this second replacement works. I blame all this on my cat hah.. good luck with everything sending lots of Morgan hugggz ❤

I had the same happen to my dog, ulceration. Your advice is right on. Get to an eye specialist for anything with the eye. I had two dogs and both were misdiagnosed at a regular vet. I also foster dogs. You have a wonderful place for that. It’s so rewarding
I know eyes are so scary, I always consider it an emergency 😅 hope you furbabies were ok in the end! And so wonderful you foster im hoping to start that soon once I'm fully moved in ♥️

Aisling, years ago I had two cat sisters who were very bonded - one of the girls had to have surgery and her sister hissed and spat at her but it settled down. Who knows - could be the cone, the strange smells etc. Your fur baby comes first - so happy she's got through the surgery, bless her, what a brave little girl 💝🐕 Kizzy and I wish Morri a speedy recovery and Bainne feels less stressed. Thank you so much, it's been a hard week but I keep reminding myself that it happened when I had time off for work so I could be at home, and I actually had money since I've been saving for the house, so while it hasn't been ideal at least I was in the best position to help Morri at this time! My Nan is thankfully out of ICU but will probably be in hospital for Christmas which is sad but she is also in the best place for her right now. So happy her surgery went well. One thing for sure, anytime our fur babies have a medical issues, it can and does STOP anything else we are doing and changes any plans we may have had. I've had to cancel vacations because one of my older dogs became ill 2 days before I was suppose to leave. I stayed home with my dog. Sweet little Morri, we are all praying for you.
The furbabies really do come first! I'd be the same as you cancelling holidays or whatever came up for them, I think I have separation anxiety from Morri because I have been more of a mess than she has this week! Happy Christmas! Ugh, it's been such a hard week. Morri is doing well though, she's tolerating all the pills and drops, and she's mostly resting which I'm thankful for. Nan is ok too, she has been moved to a regular ward thankfully out of the ICU but she will likely be in hospital for Christmas. Fingers crossed both Morri and Nan will start getting better

Im so sorry you had to go through all this. It's so scary to have a pet that can't tell you what's wrong. ... Cherry eye is pretty common, We had a foster that had the surgery and Im so glad we got it done. He looked better for adoption and I feel like more comfortable after. Lots going on for you, take what time you need don't rush healing. You are young and that house will get going when you get to it.
I'm a little cranky that for the past 3 years Morri's vets have led me to believe the cherry eye wasn't worth having surgery for. It never seemed to bother her, but when I told the eye specialist she was horrified! She did say her eye wasn't dry etc. but when she showed me the images of Morri's eye and I could see the small amount of damage I was so upset with myself for not having her operated on sooner. I'm so glad your foster got the surgery too and it helped get them adopted
Awee poor girl but we are so lucky to have super medical care these days.. my pups and me are sending her pawsitive thoughts and a ton of licks ❤❤... as for kitty I would think that to her morri smells bad and that "thing" on morri's just shouldn't be there .. all will be well .. hugs from afar

Poor Morri has my full sympathy. I have been having eye problems myself for about 18 months and am waiting for surgery. 8 drops in my left eye daily and 6 in the right. Its not nice so I know how she feels. You really have had a rough week so please try to enjoy the holidays. I'm hoping for better things for you next year. Take care ❤

Cats are very sensitive to change and mine reacted the same way if any of my other animals have had surgery ..should improve with time ..I'm sure everything will turn out fine ❤

Oh Ais, that little face, it melts my heart. What a nightmare situation and thank goodness you acted so quickly getting Morri to the vet. You know your baby and knew something was wrong with your past experience from working in the eye clinic. Morri will be comforted having you by her side but you mind yourself too. I wonder if Bainne is off color because she can sense Morri isn't herself but also can smell the meds and scents from vets etc. About the videos, don't worry because I for one enjoy the renovation stuff but its only part of tge reason I follow along, you, your fur babies and your life story are the other reason I enjoy your content. As to why your cat reacted to Morrie that way after surgery is normal. Morrie has been in a hospital and has had surgery and under anesthesia and your cat is aware that there's something different because of her keen senses, the smells of a different place and anesthesia smells,etc. She may be put off for a bit. Be patient. And don't put bad vibes on her, they were sibling playing and an accident happened. Be kind and positive.

It sounds like the eye injury saved Morrigan's eyes and sight. I understand the stress of furbabies when they aren't well. She's going get the best care ever with you being home. I always wondered what animal eye doctors did. Now I know. We will watch Morrigan updates if you want to post!
It really is so stressful, I'm trying to stay calm and trust the process that her eyes are on the mend but I'm no doctor and just not sure! Omg let me tell you, that clinic was sooooo busy! So many dogs in getting things done to their eyes!

Something similar happened to my cat after a cat fight . It was over Xmas and her eye was weeping and they just thought she had a cold . Then it looked like her pupil had blown and I thought she was dying of a stroke. Emergency vet happened to be an eye specialist who was amazing and took a great deal of interest in her . Thank goodness for pet insurance.
Oh goodness your poor cat, I hope she is ok now ❤️ I know, pet insurance really is a life saver! I am hoping Morri's will kick in and cover some of the costs!

Awe, sweet Morgan, here's a quick, funny but not really. Here goes a stray cat ended up at our window for days till we took her to the vet . She settled in. Okay, i thought till one day she jumped at me, causing my arm to swing to the back of my back, hense shoulder came out of socket surgery happened afew years later making homemade beer slipped from the table again shoulder came out of socket this time emergency room . Next was in Chicago, another emergency room visit now lets hope to goodness this second replacement works. I blame all this on my cat hah.. good luck with everything sending lots of Morgan hugggz ❤

I had the same happen to my dog, ulceration. Your advice is right on. Get to an eye specialist for anything with the eye. I had two dogs and both were misdiagnosed at a regular vet.
I also foster dogs. You have a wonderful place for that. It’s so rewarding
I know eyes are so scary, I always consider it an emergency 😅 hope you furbabies were ok in the end! And so wonderful you foster im hoping to start that soon once I'm fully moved in ♥️

Aisling, years ago I had two cat sisters who were very bonded - one of the girls had to have surgery and her sister hissed and spat at her but it settled down. Who knows - could be the cone, the strange smells etc. Your fur baby comes first - so happy she's got through the surgery, bless her, what a brave little girl 💝🐕 Kizzy and I wish Morri a speedy recovery and Bainne feels less stressed. Thank you so much, it's been a hard week but I keep reminding myself that it happened when I had time off for work so I could be at home, and I actually had money since I've been saving for the house, so while it hasn't been ideal at least I was in the best position to help Morri at this time! My Nan is thankfully out of ICU but will probably be in hospital for Christmas which is sad but she is also in the best place for her right now. BUT everything is hopefully now on the up :) thank you for all your kind comments and support this year ❤️ I hope you and your family and friends have a lovely holiday season and New year ❤️

So happy her surgery went well. One thing for sure, anytime our fur babies have a medical issues, it can and does STOP anything else we are doing and changes any plans we may have had. I've had to cancel vacations because one of my older dogs became ill 2 days before I was suppose to leave. I stayed home with my dog. Sweet little Morri, we are all praying for you.
The furbabies really do come first! I'd be the same as you cancelling holidays or whatever came up for them, I think I have separation anxiety from Morri because I have been more of a mess than she has this week! Happy Christmas! Ugh, it's been such a hard week. Morri is doing well though, she's tolerating all the pills and drops, and she's mostly resting which I'm thankful for. Nan is ok too, she has been moved to a regular ward thankfully out of the ICU but she will likely be in hospital for Christmas. Fingers crossed both Morri and Nan will start getting better

Im so sorry you had to go through all this. It's so scary to have a pet that can't tell you what's wrong. ... Cherry eye is pretty common, We had a foster that had the surgery and Im so glad we got it done. He looked better for adoption and I feel like more comfortable after.
Lots going on for you, take what time you need don't rush healing. You are young and that house will get going when you get to it.
I'm a little cranky that for the past 3 years Morri's vets have led me to believe the cherry eye wasn't worth having surgery for. It never seemed to bother her, but when I told the eye specialist she was horrified! She did say her eye wasn't dry etc. but when she showed me the images of Morri's eye and I could see the small amount of damage I was so upset with myself for not having her operated on sooner. I'm so glad your foster got the surgery too and it helped get them adopted
Awee poor girl but we are so lucky to have super medical care these days.. my pups and me are sending her pawsitive thoughts and a ton of licks ❤❤... as for kitty I would think that to her morri smells bad and that "thing" on morri's just shouldn't be there .. all will be well .. hugs from afar

She really is a sweetheart, and all 3 vets she's seen this week have said how well she's handling everything and how gentle she is, I am a very lucky fur mommy. She is sleeping lots, although she's starting to get a little pep in her step again and wants to be moving around!

Poor Morri has my full sympathy. I have been having eye problems myself for about 18 months and am waiting for surgery. 8 drops in my left eye daily and 6 in the right. Its not nice so I know how she feels. You really have had a rough week so please try to enjoy the holidays. I'm hoping for better things for you next year. Take care ❤
