I love your videos. Walking in the rain around old buildings is a favorite pastime of mine, it really lowers my blood pressure. Thanks for lingering around a few areas like restaurants, it provides a welcomed break from walking. The quieter the streets, the better for me.
wow! this brings back memories! I worked in the Gate House building, 1 St Johns Square, the 60s looking building on the left, through the Gate House archway, near the red shuttered newsagent on the corner! 84-99 Sad to see the signage on the building gone! The Clarekenwell Social next to us was called the Three Horse Shoes pub! St johns Path was the trek everyday to get to Farringdon station! that alleyway was like walking through Charles Dickens era! still looks the same! thank you for sharing!
I always find your walks so educational as well as visually interesting. It's funny how the names of places and streets always go back in history with there origins. It's also great to see the British sense of humour is alive with the mural of the cow wearing a face mask. Thank You. I have never walked around this part of London so it was great to come and explore it with you.
Nice peaceful place in the middle of the night. Sat outside Barts many times. Great walk onwards. Best very early on a Sunday morning. 2am onwards and there is are a couple of pubs open.
I truly admire and appreciate your effort in making these wonderful touring videos. But I really hope you are taking care of your health and staying warm. With covid cases on the rise again and cold weather it can be risky to walk around like this. Hopefully on my next trip we can catch a cup of latte or something. 😊 Stay healthy dear 👍
Great video, as usual. Thank you, Sanpo. You have certainly helped me in these uncertain times by adding beauty and culture through the strolls. Warm regards from Buenos Aires
Sanpo Stroll They really are!!! I live about 15 miles from here. I adore Architecture but for some reason this beautiful area was unknown to me!!! Obviously I heard of it etc but unaware of how interesting it is. Thank you. This is truly going to be the loveliest Christmas treat to myself and my camera. A day out in Farringdon etc
Your videos are often imitated but never bettered, it's the captions which make them so much more interesting. Love how you exit a historic street to see a 'Pret' across the road. Cheers.
SS, Another awesome "stroll" with you in the rain!! Love how you find these areas that maybe no one has seen before and love all the details you provide in your walks! Love the history as well and you always find these interesting side alleys/lanes to explore. You are almost at a well-deserved 25 K subscribers, well done! It is our Thanksgiving holiday in the US and thanks as always for all your great and educational walks, I appreciate all your efforts! Cheers!
I've watched quite a few of your videos now, Sanpo Stroll and I have to say that your channel is in a class of its own. You have a very good eye; it's the way your camera lingers on certain objects and details. I guess you could call it an artistic or aesthetic sense. Farringdon has a fascinating mix of buildings from many eras and those narrow alleys are quite atmospheric. Cheers, from New Zealand.
Hi Sanpo, Thanks for sharing, I appreciate your little snippets of information, they add to my enjoyment of the film. I didn't know Smithfield was moving out of London, although I'm not surprised, as the other big markets moved out of C London long ago. This is such a historic area, but it doesn't feature very often on the tourist map. You can't resist an alleyway!! Passing Alley seemed surprisingly busy, considering how few people were around.
oh my thank you for this! I've been looking into Cloth Fair and East Passage as my great grandparents lived on Cloth Fair in 1905 and used to go to the Old Dick Whittington pub 2 houses down at #24. Your walk took me right past their old house (demolished in 1914 but house number remains same). Then the walk down East Passage (where they moved to in 1907 and gave birth to my grandmother. Love this
Hello Sanpo Thanks for the great walk. At St Bartholomew church yard you walked by the bench were I took a lovely picture of Sandra on our first trip to London in September 2012. On our list is to visit inside the church. Love all the small little alleys and passageways. We saw the business called The Rookery, which most means there most have been a Rookery in this area not a very nice place to live in. Thanks again Chris and Sandra of Canada.
The narrow alleys you go down are intriguing and a little creepy. So narrow they look like one person could barely pass but yet are wide enough for two. Enjoyed the gentle rain, so calming thank you
Another fab walk. Please take care. In this one at 12.01 mins when you are panning around charterhouse square the Art Deco building is the one used in the David Suchet version of Hercule Poirot show. Looks a little shabbier in real life but was a good walk to find it anyway.
Farringdon and Clerkenwell are great areas to walk. Unfortunately many old buildings were destroyed both in WW2 air raids and by insensitive rebuilding. However it’s still a good area to explore and at night many streets have a great vibe particularly in Summer with loads of restaurants and bars.
24.45 St Johns Gate appeared in the movie 'A Fish called Wanda' 22.42 this was originally called Pissing Alley but the name was changed in Victorian times
I love this I have the money but will never have the time to do a walk like this It is exactly what I would do so thank you. I am an engineer so I would have stopped and told the guy lifting the scaffold poles to put a helmet on - I would not have been so polite

Thank you Stephen. Glad you enjoyed. I agree the modern buildings are all trying to look unique.
Oh I enjoyed this historic video very much ! Beautiful indeed ! Merci beaucoup Sanpo ! I always imagine you enjoying a nice cup of tea afterwards :)
Thank you Marianne! Yes a tea or beer :)
I am astonished at the number of interesting places you show us. Thanks.

Thank you for this wonderful walk. London's rich history has always fascinated me but I now live in Leipzig, a Brexit refugee.
Brexit refugee?
نرجوا لكم التوفيق والنجاح صديقك يوسف من الكويت 💐💐
Thank you Yosef!
Very nice video
I like buildings in London. For Koreans like me, European buildings may look similar, but I think British buildings are more special and pretty. 😄😆😮
Bloody hell that was quiet. Was it a sunday or just because of covid?
Hi Milo, it was Friday afternoon but during second lockdown.
Very interesting.
Super....
Thank you!
Ottimo grazie
My first impression,streets are empty,so depressive,beautiful city,rich country,amazing buildings
This video was filmed during the second lockdown, so it was very quiet.
Avec le traducteur en français c'est encore mieux , j'ai beaucoup apprécié , très intéressant de découvrir Londres, merci !
