My 3800 lb 2014 Infiniti Q50 with a naturally aspirated 3.7 liter (tuned) Will run low 13s.
Slow 7 speed automatic.
My 370Z has the same engine but it is supercharged, so it's a completely different story.
Both of them sound great.
I know that Cadillac tries to appeal more towards the older, luxury type of clientele... But again it's not my cup of soup.
The Black Wing is a different story.

Seems like BMW advertises the hp/tq at the wheels rather than at the crank like the competitors. Can pretty much always bet on the BMW to take it if the HP is equal.

B58 is a beast. I have an M340i and adore that engine. It's just so good at pretty much everything.

Actually, the CT4-V (non-Blackwing) costs about the same as as Golf R; both are about $46K.

The AWD CT4 seems to be quite a bit slower than the RWD. I noted in one of your reviews that it did 5.1 0-60 and mine consistently does 4.5-4.7 0-60. Wish you could get a race going of a RWD vs AWD.
Would really like to see the M240i against the Camaro and/or Mustang. Should be a good race if you can arrange it.

Let’s be honest each car brings its own sauce and are excellent bargains for what they are and everyone’s preference. I’m not one to let a cars straight line performance convince me. It’s like truck pulling and ultimately proves on particular thing. Great runs!

I think on a track the results will be the same, the m240 will come first, then the golf, then the cadi. It is what it is. Imo the Golf is the best looking one but with the horrendous capacitive touch buttons on the inside I would never buy one.

Hey Sam......how about listing the MSRP for the vehicles along with the engine configurations and power. Also, the M240i is essentially the GR Supra 3.0 with AWD.

Judging by how the golf sounded and how slow it looked (yes, even compared to the m240i), whoever was driving it definitely didn't have it in the best driving mode. The active valves in the exhaust were closed, which means it was probably just in sport mode (which is technically just "normal"). This test needs to be redone with it in the Special drive mode (the one that has a picture of the Nürburgring on it, next to the Drift mode under Race).
I have a Mk8 Golf R and it doesn't sound that muddled in Race, Drift, or Special modes, only in Comfort or Sport... And not only that, but the automatic Mk8 R has launch control. Why didn't he use either of these features?

Everybody keeps talking about the m240i but is anybody talking about how a “Volkswagen” with a turbo 4 is keeping up with a brute like the bmw??? Jesus German cars are underrated. Lmao
This is why I've advocated for the CT4 V to have the 3.0tt with 360 hp and 405 lb ft of tq. The 2.7t is designed to be a truck engine and it shows in this video. Jumps off the line due to its low end tq. But then on the high end it gets dropped. The 2.7t should have been the base engine. Producing 309/349 hp/tq, and 330/380 hp/tq for the Premium Luxury. The V could have gotten the 3.0tt making 360/405 hp/tq. Then the 3.6tt could have just been the same for the V BW. For the CT5 it should have been the 2.7t making 330/380 hp/tq the Premium Luxury could have gotten the 3.0tt making 400/404 hp/tq. The V model could have gotten the 3.6tt with the ATS V tune making 464/445 hp/tq. Then the V BW could have remained the same with the 6.2 V8 LT4.

Agreed. The CT4-V should get the 3.0tt V6. Would love to see magnetic ride control with awd on the CT4-V too. Another option would be to electrify the CT4-V with the 2.7 powering the rear and an electric motor making 100hp for the front axle. Or even swap the 2.7 for the na lgx...
That Caddy is the TLX Type S of this group. Unfortunately for Acura, there’s no TLX BW version to save the model.

Interesting I just watched another video of a stock Mk8 R do the 1/4 mile in 12.2 on a strip. This one seemed quite slow. Did they use launch control and have their UHP tires?

This is why the M240i is going to be my next car. I discovered another neat little car that rose to the top of my list as my next option. The M240i. It also has the B58. I have been researching for months now. So my next choices are a Supra, M240i, or M4. I am leaning towards the M240i because of the price, B58, and extra space. I have researched the F82 M4 and A90 Supra. Now I have discovered this neat little M240i car with the x-Drive option. I think my next car in the future will be a 2017-2020 M240i because of the price, AWD x-Drive option, it has the B58 engine, and it has the extra car space I like. I don't like the appearance of the next generation of 2 series cars. 2018-2020 are the years I will choose. I have a stock 2016 Genesis Coupe 3.8 right now. The car is already becoming rare. Save it for the value, or sell it? Hmmm. 348 horsepower was nice to experience, but I am ready for the next level. I have never been in a turbocharged or supercharged car before.
what you wanna know bout the m240i?..I got one..had it since may 2022
I took delivery of 2023 M240i and i actually love the look much more than 2017 - 2020. It looks so much more aggressive front, rear and side compared with the previous gen. At first, I wasn't too impressed with the rear end but now i get it. it doesn't look good standstill, but looks super sporty when passing other cars.

@@samuelreid603 I got the one with Alpine white and red interior. I was thinking to get the Thundernight metalic but i want to have red interior so i went with the Alpine white. I was also wanting to wrap my car in a few months with frozen black color so I just chose the free color. So far i haven't seen any new generation M240i on the road and it's also a main reason i bought this car. I want my car to be more unique unlike others 328i or model 3 for example. It's exciting you saw another M240i on the road for sure.

Have you done the CT4-V vs the TLX Type-S? That may actually be a close race (I would still expect the CT4-V to win though).

What we just saw here was internal politics. VW can't make more hp than the S4 so, it will forever lose to the M240i. The CT4V I feel should make more power for a V.

Does that BMW limit the revs when in park or neutral? Those revs sounded pretty bad/muted for a 6 cylinder engine. Does it pump in fake engine noise? Really needs an aftermarket exhaust imho.
Not suprsed that BMW won. But I am surprised how bad the Golf R gapped the CT4 from the dig races. I expected the Golf to be faster from a dig, due to under rated HP and lighter weight. But I still didn't expect the gap to be that bad.

@@germanengineering204 Good taste. RS3 is no doubt the king of drag races. When your warranty runs out, advance to stage 2 E85 or stage 3 hybrid turbo E85, you will definitely be unbeatable. It is not too expensive too.

The R had an exhaust and a R600 air intake. With the extra weight for the forged wheels the intake had barely any pull

@German engineering what I'm saying is that golf was the slowest out of all those cars but with the weight advantage it beat the caddy and was close to the Beamer.I was saying if it was tuned it would've been closer tied with the Beamer or could've beat the bmw. I'm just saying how impressed I was on how the golf r handled that Beamer would be a beast tuned but I always go for the underdog.

The CT4-V and CT5-V are very good enthusiast cars. Their chassis are magic! Being a fun sport sedan is not just about drag racing.

The BMW is actually obtainable, seems that VW isn't making many Golf Rs, making them almost impossible to find, and if you do, the markups bring it to the same price as the BMW.
