Jordan Ashburn, a guy riding a bike that hasn't changed since 1995, going up against factory supported racers, on the latest high tech bikes, and coming in 11th in one of the gnarliest races in the world. Ashburn is a beast IMO!
Thats who was on the kdx?
@@ethanhopper432 Yes, Ashburn was the only guy on a KDX in the 3rd race. There was also another rider on one but didn't qualify for the 3rd race.
racist film makers
WildAzz, you still got your KDX?
I’ve seen some guys in Germany they competed in a enduro World Series event on their original 87 factory MZ bikes ( they won the 6 days race that year)
They were still quite competitive
Red Bull really dropped the ball on the best story here, Jordan Ashburn riding a 20 year old stock Kawasaki KDX200 and finished 11th overall is nothing short of amazing, Red Bull should pay a bit more attention to more than just the top 2 riders of an event, take a chance with some more personal and compelling stories than just the same cookie cutter coverage that everybody does, a little creativity and effort goes a long ways.
Red bull never makes mistakes with their videos homeboy
100% agree with you. I noticed the KDX in a couple of shots and was really impressed he was keeping up with all those fancy machines!
@@chrissanger 11th place out of 15 in the final. 26 pros total. Not bad on a 1998 KDX!
Kawasaki and KTM and pretty much everyone else especially redbulls preferred sponsors do not want to showcase that. That would not sell new bikes.
@@chrissanger

God bless that crazy bastard riding around in the RBSS on an old KDX
There were actually two KDXs! One of them ridden by Jordan Ashburn made it pretty far.
On that course a KDX isn't going to be a disadvantage. They are barely moving anyway. The only thing he is giving up is the electric start.
My KDX was the best 200 cc I ever raced . I had all types all brands.
Still love Husqvarna though.
My guy on the KDX is the winner in my book.
Yeah lol I gotta kdx 250 idk how that guys doing it
FOR REAL. Having owned a KDX...I almost fainted when I saw it.
There's a reason that Jeff Fredette raced the ISDEs on KDXs for the last 30 years :)
💯
Bro honestly 😂
Cody Webb: *get on screen*
Commentators: *LONG LEGS intensifiles*
S/o to the guy braving this course on a KDX
Why won’t the casters talk about that bloody legend?
@@markmartir6932 I know that anoyyed me dude needs needs some respect thats impressive
Jordan ashburn professional gncc rider
I did a double take!!
I still ride mine competivly..... Love her she is my old dog....
*price of old KDXs go up 250%*
With due respect to all riders, The Legend here has to be "Jordan Ashburn" 11th place riding an H-Series KDX Kawasaki , An awesome bike that did not change from 1995 - 2006, and here he is in 2020 competing in a "Hard Enduro" Race, I take my hat off to you Jordan You & your bike are both Legends!!! Awesome Result .
It's great he is getting his money's worth out of that bike, but if you look at what they are doing the only advantage the new bikes have is electric start. If he placed in a GNCC, that would be a feat. I raced a KDX for 15 and they are great at the slow stuff.
That's a awesome ride right there buddy I'm telling you that joker right there where you was at a disadvantage riding a motorbike like that but I'm telling you what that was some kind of good riding if you done that good Levin place on a stock kdx200 I used to ride one of them but I'm big and fat now but anyway man you done great man that was great
Would’ve honestly rather watched his POV of this race
This legend on the KDX chasing the guys on their brand new bikes. A better bike might have helped him at least 5 places.
Should be a trophy for that , call it " the KDX challenge"
Hahah I saw that right at the beginning and couldn't believe it. Dude is the 🐐
Well, that thing was less HP than the newer machines, less wheelspin, violence, less strain on wrists & elbows, less fatigue.of course, it has more primitive suspension, but in this chunky terrain, more go isn't necessarily an advantage. Dude also has less pressure to perform, no one was expecting him to do well;
Props to him for a good ride!
Good riding is more important than truck hardware
I love my KDX, wish they would bring it back with just touch more power, a few pounds less but same low seat height and same compliant suspension and chassis. Also it was crazy at my last race, of all the bikes in the pits everyone was most interested and talking about my KDX, they all loved seeing it racing with the new bikes.
Got to respect the KDX for sure. Looked completely stock down to the graphics. And not to mention it's kick start.
38:31 best coverage of Jordan Ashburn on that old KDX. ....and pucking out coolant
I did this for 25 years and it was the best part of my 65 years except my family.
You know you’re old when you remember when Selema had dreads at Xgames Lol
And when he used to go by just “Sal” hah
@@lucasblanchard47 I honestly thought I was going crazy thinking that he used to go by Sal. Threw me off when he said his full name.
@@TrippyRaptor86 right?!
Who is the guy on the kawasaki? I have never seen anyone participate in an hard Enduro race on a kawa. Big props
jordan ashburn
@@ryansmifh Is he NOT a factory Beta rider anymore?
@@hemisuperzee1287 His bike for some reason was not operational so he borrowed the KDX from his dad.
The announcer takes me back to when i was a little kid glued too the tv watching twitch and all the og riders on xgames😂🤙
So they basically just had a really long mma fight with their own bike.
I'm still riding my 2004 kdx 200 after all these years... Been on the new bikes but for the money, I can't get off of it quite yet.
Is it a bird ?.A plane??
NO ITS KDXMAN🤟
Enduro is prolly the best thing ever.
the ads every 2 minutes and cut away/commentary bits every 30 seconds made this hour long video insanely watchable
KDX rider 💪 RESPECT 👍
The beatings and comebacks when exhausted are nothing short of the real SICK! Damn Tennessee looks tough.
I've grown up riding in Tennessee and it is really fun but it's also super dangerous, you can be on a flat one second and the next your almost going straight down.
Welcome to Tennessee, lived here my whole life, still not use to the heat.
Agreed. Been in East TN about 18 years now and still not used to it! 🤣
This is so tough that 99% of the people playing it on PS4 give up.
The host was awesome!
Love seeing hard enduro growing in the 🇺🇲
Lucky for Cody none of the euro riders aren't there , this makes him look good lol.
This is some of the best XC riding filming i have ever seen... THANK YOU!
These are the bikes on craigslist listed as " Wife's bike for sale, she stopped ridding so I'm letting it go, lightly used" lmao
Excited to see Jarvis or Manny come race it; show em how it's done....
I’ve had lots of Mx bikes. And kdx is still my favorite over all bike. Also I’m born and raised in. Sevierville Tn. Lil over hour from where they are. Most beautiful place in the world east Tn. Mountains
After seeing some of the terrain Trystan is practicing on in BC, I see why he's getting so good!
We do have some of the best riding up here in BC eh.
@@ryanhobbs3362 we talking revelstoke?
Excited for this year!
hi
When is it?

Who else lives 1 hour away from the TKO? If so where you there? It was awesome if you haven’t been you need to go it is awesome.
I'm 1.5 hrs away. Been there before. I just need a sponsor bike. 😁
Welcome to the south boys!!!
Enduro is life.
Gonna be a PITA - The TKO is not held in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Jeez, am I the only one imagining trials bikes crushing this course with relative ease?
ith not with ease but yea a trials bike miigth woek very well for this
Watching Sipes struggle at 31:00 makes me feel so much better about my riding.
Looks like it would be faster to leave the bike at the start line and run instead
It would.
RED BULL GIVES YOU WINGS
That's some nasty terrain that will really test and push the limits of ones skills.Does look like what id call fun riding..
Jordan Ashburn not even having an electric start is brutal, stalling it in a weird spot happens all the time in this kind of riding and since the kickstart is on the same side as the rear brake taking your foot off the brake to kick the bike can make you slide down the hill because just the front won't always hold you if it's steep and slick
Sal's gained some weight since the series started years back.
Ok dud dont be mean to him
He cut his hair so his actual weight has stayed the same.
@@believe8263 i miss the dreads
@@jordanlund3132 He’s probably saved them in a box somewhere. You should ask if you can have them.
That's cus it's not Sal, it's Selema.
That moment when you realize you're gettin old, and miss the good times of biking watching this clip.... 😒
go get a 450 and enjoy life
I wish enduro riding got more play. A man and his machine, name another sport like it!
The announcer guy said 15 huge complicated words just to say it's slick out in the woods 😂
Grew up in these hills. Riding since I was 12. My advantage was a strong grip and forearms built from stiff arming 12 ft 5/8 drywall for 20 yrs.
Looks like a 2001 KDX love it
Kawasaki! Where is our KDX300? I vote for Cody Webb to lead team green 👍
Sounds better than a KLX300......
This race was just one county away. I didn't even know it was going on😟. Maybe next year.
An awesome rough terrain race. Well done young man 🤙🏻🇨🇦🏍
Well done all riders
When you realise that 90% of the real hard enduro riders are NOT from the US :D
It’s been a popular sport in Europe for a long time, it’s very new in America.
and Then you realize that most of the Real riders arent even at this event.
Because there aren't very many trials guys out there and all the top hard enduro start in trials.
@@nostranger2u Not all. Wade Young doesn't have a Trials background. But definitely the vast majority
@@joshuavanzuydam5044 Nearly all at the top ARE former world- class trials riders.
So why didnt you folks even mention the KDX rider ,,can only think might be a bit bias ,,looked like he did a hell of a show,KUDOS KDX RIDER,,Any sponsors yet???
Hes a GNCC regular top 5 finisher, a AA pro from that series. Must have stuck in on his old fav KDX dirt bike as its not in his GNCC series contract id guess. Was a factory Beta rider a few years ago. I dont keep up with who rides for who anymore.
Fun to hear GL announcing hard enduro!
Its this love. I am feeling. Its this true love. There Ill be searching for. Its this love. What am I feeling. Its this true love...
Quoting White snake??? Seriously???
I know all about that heat, being in florida that humidity is no joke, they didnt even mention having a blazing hot engine under you and heat rises. Had an hour ride home in the midst of summer along beachside in shorts and a tee. 60-70mph and I still could not cool off, had to stop multiple times. Anxiety comes into play lol. These guys are freaking warriors man.
couldnt even imagine how my clutch hand would feel after this lmfao
So, Keith Curtis is 32 years old and he has won THIRTY snowmobile world championships in his life...so...how many snowmobile championship races are held each year?!
Different classes 600s vs 800s stock, modified, open modified hes the type of guy that enters all of them and then wins half of them.
a 32 year old with 30 snowmobile world titles? Somehow that just doesn't add up to me???
Yeah!!! U saw that thing and said to myself wow!!! I used to have one of those KDX 200,s Rock solid bike!!!👍
Imagine calling these bikes heavy my XL250R is 131kgs wet I had to push like 100 meters when clutch lever broke basically an enduro weapon
Was cody webb injured last season. The announcers didn't mention it.
It seems being talented on a motorbike isn't enough.........fitness and athleticism definitely counts too
It never looks as hard on screen
Been going to Tennessee for decades. All I can say is “ look out for the ticks and chiggers” they are brutal as the humidity !
Got a kdx220 my self there not as heavy ss yall think and with the proper mods are absolute woods weapons. Ask jeff fredette have won many on his. Shoutout to this dude showing everyone up on the old kdx. Been looking to do a enduro with mine.
I raced a KDX220 in scrambles for 15 years. They people claiming it is at a big disadvantage at this race don't know them well. The only major disadvantage is the kick start.
Holy crap I remember Sal Masekela from when I was a kid at X Games VIII. So cool to see him still around the sport
These guys are in for a shock when the European riders come to town.
Good riding from Trystan Hart go Canada :)
I live close to the trials training center and I can say it is very slick no matter where you are
Is it open to the public?
Yes. It's open to the public. Just call ahead make sure they're open.
@@Jlow67WV Thanks!
Tennessee laughs at your bikes. Tellico would've been more of a challenge but they shut that down awhile back
Felicidades Benjamin Herrera en una competencia muy exigente lograste tercer lugar 👏👏👏
Awesome coverage! More of this sport!👌
Dang that’s tough!
I wish they had a grasp of geography. Not the smokey mountains. The foothills of the Cumberland plateau almost two hours west of the smokey mountains.
It still ain't the Blackwater race!
Why don't you do such a beautiful service anymore? It's a real pity.
This group is radical👊😎🇺🇲

the trails are usually 10 times worse than what it appears on a video.
Looking sharp Sal. Like that shirt. Greetings from Carlsbad, CA.
That humidity is a killer.
Go Canada! Wonder who told Salema he was not Sal anymore?
Himself probably, he just went by Sal to make his name more "TV friendly" which I don't agree with, I would prefer him to be called his actual name.
Tennessee looks like a rad place to ride! will have to check it out.
Cory Ashburn 13th on a 1920’s Kawi?
I rode a KDX it was a better bike than my Yamaha IT175 or my Suzuki PE 175, better engine than Suzuki and would turn on a dime, won a lot of hare scrambles on it.
I raced one for years. Once it was setup, it wasn't much different than any new 2 stroke. I only gave it up for electric start.
The announcers need to be given a map this race is held a good 2 hour drive away from the Smokey Mountains. It's actually held in the Cumberland plateau area of the state close to an area I spent many days in riding and hunting in when I was a kid. Its in the community of Sequatchie Tennessee on Coppinger Cove Road. We had a cabin when I was a kid up in Indian cove which was a few miles past where the blacktop ends on this road....
Masha'Allah, this channel is excellent, I recommend it.
Much more of this please !!!!
Someone should give whoever chooses the corse a mental evaluation.
Dat KLX doe!!!!
Incredible win✅✅✅✅✅
Screw that track. These guys deserve better!
Not in the Smokies actually.
So, was that 4 manufacturers in the first 4 bikes? Awesome to see the variety in the lineup for the finals.
I still think a good Trail Bike rider and his Trailbike would win this competition easy.
Billy bolt will kick all their assess
Felicidades un super evento 😊
rocky terrain negotiates time and effort for those efficient bikers.
SO SICK
