  • I decided to record what's involved in doing an oil change on our 2012 Touareg TDI, I hope it's helpful to someone.

    I had the same oil drain plug leakage with my Touareg. It was solved by applying the correct torque spec. I believe the torque spec is about 35 lbs.
    And because I'm anal retentive, I give the filter an oil bath so not to put in a dry filter.
    Adding a small amount of oil to check for leakage from the plug is an excellent idea. Thanks!

    sorry might be a silly question, but is the oil supposed to be black like that because it’s a diesel? how long do you go between oil changes

    Thank u for a great video , so I have a 2011 vw Touareg 3.0 tdi am I safe to use this one , because the price is reasonable compare to Liqui Molly ,

    I watched this whole thing to find out where the dipstick was... and you didnt show it 😔

      @@cmacd76 Is there a spot where one can be added? Also you can't pump the oil out?

      Front Right of engine. There is a plastic plug in the tube for the dipstick@@vorsprungdurchtechnik5
