The Volkswagen Polo has been a great car to own over the last 4 years. It has been really good in terms of costs of ownership as the Tax/Insurance is pretty low and have been getting around 50-60 mpg which helps. I own the 2014 1.0 Bluemotion 5-door variant and its been a pleasure to own.

I have mine for 7 years now. I have driven it 100.000 km. Almost nothing has broken. It is very good.
Polo mk5 is ideally balanced from all perspectives and ideal as a city car. I would say it is very good not even as a very first car, but even as a second family car. I have 1.2tdi with ~4.5l/100 in city mode and 3l/100 in a highway (with a stable speed 90-100km/h). Super economical, comfortable and reliable!
Also bear in mind, the base it is built is like a constructor, so you can apply a lot of custom parts and create super unique car with fantastic look ;)
Is it good for long distances, or for uphill roads?
How expensive is maintenance?

5 doors are way better 3 doors are ugly lol having to lift the seats to put people in hate them
3 doors are sportier and look nicer but 5 doors are more practical

ive just bought a 12plate 1.6 Polo, Manual, for £2000, fuckin love it.. will be using it for years until i save up for a Mercedez GLA or Audi A6 avant

@@dom123456able to be honest, my dads friend has a son who had owned it and now has a Mercedez A Class.. the Polo is actually Low Milage with only 43k, its white 62 plate.. Runs like its a 2021, looks brand new no scratches or dents, only thing I need to do is put an infotainment system in it because its the standard version.

Looking to get a polo for my first car. Got up to £6k to spend. Then got 2k saved for insurance. I’ve been looking at 2013-2014 polos with 60k or less miles and preferably 74 or 84bhp. With the multimedia system. Would you say that’s a good choice? Or would you recommend the 59bhp model. I am planning on keeping the car until it falls apart. Hence the budget.
