India govt has given millions of dollars to Maldives...but their people are against India....they run program India out... Every year thousands of Indian tourist go to Maldives... Spends lacks of rupees in their beach resorts... Where a water villa cost nearly 1 lakh per night even over in seasons.... What do we get from that? Instead of giving such aids we should develop our own resource in lakshadweep to help economy of our own..

Just wanted to highlight that we know that you have to show positivity as a content creator. However, as Indians and Hindus, we try to push anything under the rug if it is mildly offensive to anyone. If we keep doing that, then we lose our own identity because there is no dress code in Hinduism. Accommodating conservative dressing from Victorian England and Muslim rulers has created a Hindu conservative mindset- which we loosely called 'Sanskar'. We think we are also conservative. However, if you go back in history just 200 years back, men and women were simply wearing loin of cotton cloth. This is due to our sub-tropical conditions. We should all be wearing what Mexicans and South Americans wear (mostly single layer of clothing). It is just that we are conditioned to wear conservatively, not according to the weather requirement.

Lakshdeep had to step up big time to attract people planning to spend in Maldives. Maldives has no restrictions and lot of choices.

Hey, thanks for this amazing blog. I just wanted to get some more information while travelling with gol travels. Whats the procedure with them, I am asking because, i had a call with one of the employee, i hope so, and he said i need to complete the full payment beforehand and did not gave much information about hows the process goes after i make the payment. He just said its government scheme. I asked him will u give me any receipt and didn't received any satisfactory response.
So i wanted to know, :-
1. Do u have any reference person there with which i can have a chat with more confidence and trust.
2. Any other trusted personality, because as you know there are alot of scams going on now a days.

Now I understand why people go to Maldives. Lakshadweep ke kept closed by govt. so many permits and too less infrastructure for tourism will never attract tourists. People go to Maldives just because they have no hustle, they just have to get visa and rest is enjoy the trip. In Lakshadweep you have to get police certificate and then you need Kavaratti Police permit. This looks like you are planning for foreign country where tourism infrastructure is not available.
Couldn't understand why should anybody from India be limited with so many rules for moving to this island permanently or for tourism. As an Indian I will move to any land/state and make my home there. It is out of imagination that someone is prevented for moving to this island. Is it because it is occupied by illegal occupants so there are so many rules?
The reason there's a limitation on people on the island is because of the dearth of accommodation facilities made by the Govt. There's one resort per island that cannot accommodate too many people at aa time, and without a place to stay, they cannot allow an influx of tourists. Also, while tourism brings in good money, there's also a downside, as you may have seen across Indian states. Lakshadweep wants to maintain the island as raw as it can...the 10 islands are only inhabited by locals from Lakshadweep

You can travel wherever you want, it all depends on whether you wish to find a hidden gem in our country or prefer to travel international :)
