@@katie7739 I started out with nothing, only dumpster diving, and eventually moved on to selling stuff I found in the dumpster at a table in a marketplace. I plan on eventually getting a retail store to do the same.
I did this! Started from nothing then made over 140k from it, (i found a LOT of fridges and stoves) , sold the store for 57k then used my 200k to open a restraunt 🤣

Some tips cause I love playing as a vet, store owner or restaurant owner:
- make a "house" inside a room, with all the essentials a sim need to live and LOCK the door so only you can have access. Otherwise the workers will keep procrastinating and not working....
- put the prices all the way up, really create an extortion dinner
- as soon as possible buy the store things that give you bonus like the simoleon neon light, or the signs that attract more clients....
Wait.. so there are signs that attract more clients? I always thought decoration is optional..

Next challenge: a playthrough in the neighborhood that is considered "green." Usually, the neighborhoods revert to neutral pretty quick, and everyone especially works to green-ify the industrial neighborhood. But your sim, Jim, no no no: he's a little different. He loves the industry; he loves the smog. Jim has vowed to devote his life to do everything in his power to turn the nasty green (yuck) neighborhood into the smog heaven of his dreams!

The real challenge would be - after having what you need to open, plus 4 tables - you are no longer allowed to scavenge/dumpster dive - you must survive off the restaurant !
I love this new series! Often times Sims content on yt can feel a bit repetitive and this is something I have actually not seen yet! also I dont have the dine out pack so I can actually play through you which is great!

At the reception desk you can turn off new customers so you don’t lose out on money when you close. When they start getting tired close it to new customers then finish off the customers that are already seated
When I play rags to riches, I work on my sims vampire lore skill until around level 3. Then your sims can make plasma packs, which sell for 50 each. So, if you catch a fish worth 7, for example, you can turn it into a plasma pack for an easy 50 simoleons
You: people can come eat in their pajamas
Me: after quarantine, that would be a legit popular idea
This pack makes me nostalgic for The Sims 2 Open for Business - it was so much better when you could make your household sims do the jobs. Who needs staff when you have 6 kids.

I thought of a build challenge, it's kinda tedious but basically you would build normally but everytime you touch (aka move the furniture) you have to change to the next swatch, I think it would make for a hilarious looking house as it would also be a no mistake kinda thing were you can only change the swatch when you move it and you have to start on the first swatch of every item

The key to making money in dine out is at first to stop sitting new guests (on the Host station) and wait until everyone pays for their bills and then close.
You're paying for ingredients while not getting tabs closed.

I was trying to find some kind of how to run a restaurant in The Sims 4 and I find this video. It really worth because I never laugh so much that I did watching this video. Congrats!!

Thing we need and want:
- better sibling relationship ( actually arguing with your sibling, sharing, playing with them, fighting, giving advices, discuss boy drama, steal each others stuff and babysit if your sibling is younger)
- better babies
-school gameplay (actually going to school, making projects for a talent show, getting a detention and getting in trouble, studying, sneaking out from class...)
- more animals, farms ( farm animals, unique animals, unusal animals)
- vacations ( packing a suitcase going to the airport and getting on a dream vacation in New York, Paris, London and much more...)
- teen drama ( teens don't have any gameplay, they are just adults that can't start a family yet, we need teen drama like getting excited about a boy and crying over him, having a crush, picking a prom dress for a prom that you are going to with a guy who asked you out in school, dances, selfies, concerts, sneaking out, joining a gang with the bad squad...)
- better elders ( walkers, nursing homes for older ppl, golf, doctor appointments, babysitting their grandchildren and being included in their events and lifes-like parents should be)
- more personality ( being sad and dramatic after a breakup, sassy behavior, feeling happy after getting something you wanted, being selfish, being caring, really liking little kids and babysitting them)
- more traits ( kid lover, bad girl/boy, gang leader, sassy queen/king, caring, selfish, internet addicted, maybe sime sims can have health issues they can't see, hear, sniff, walk, talk...)
- unexpected events (being asked to a dance, aliens knocking on your door, principal wanting to have a talk about their children, scouts selling cookies...)
- more events ( dances, graduation party, prom, toddler playdates, school moms meetings, children's ballet shows, sport compatitions, school project show off, sleepovers...)
- more creatures ( imaginary friends, elfs, fairies, princesses, living statues, butterflies...)
- cars that sims can actually drive
- activities for children ( something fun to do after school, like ballet, karate, football, baseball, gymnastics, selling cookies...)
- more romantic gameplay ( it's always the same, find a random sim in the park, speed everything up to get married and start a family since there are no couple activities at all, sims age too soon and while expanding your couple relationship they get too old for everything, that's why having a teen relationship would help)
- more characters that are not included in our households and families (postman bringing you mail, scouts selling cookies, inspectors, children randomly. knocking on your door...)
- more open worlds
- sims need to age slower, adults can't be a couple without speeding their relationship up bc they get too old to start a family and have kids, grandparents can't see their children grow up bc they die too soon, toddlers are the only generation that's alright and doesn't need to change and toddlers age up the fastest
She missed the opportunity to name the restaurant “Dumpster Dive Dinner”
kayla is my favourite human. although my obsession drives my boyfriend insane for i sleep with her videos playing all night - and he isn’t a huuuge fan of that. but she calms me and distracts me from my anxiety so he deals lmao

I always had a decent day if my owner sim was at the restaurant, but any time I had the restaurant open while the owner was not there, it would lose money like crazy. No idea what causes this to happen. I wonder if they've fixed it since then. That was like a year ago, or more.
I liked how in earlier Sims games you could take more of a role in the business like take on the registrar. That would save so much money
when you thought you would be super early since you got on 1 min after it posted.

They need to update Dine Out so that our sims can do the jobs that the staff do (it’d be so cute, like we could have a family run restaurant with like the dad as a chef, the mum as a host and some good ol’ child labour children waiters, so fun!) and we can make sure it’s going really well bc we can control the service and the staff won’t slack off and sleep in our beds etc (unless we want them to obvs) like it would be so much better

This is a silly, unrelated story, but Kayla saying finding ~$900 in the dumpster is the best thing that's ever happened to her made me really appreciate how lucky I was. I decided to go on a rags-to-riches story as well not too long ago. Now... I don't know much ( anything ) about collectibles, and I'd only JUST gotten the Eco pack, so I didn't really know what I was doing. I made a teen, I gave her $25 and a lot in fall ( wanted to give her some chance of surviving ) and I just... tried to survive. Jobs were impossible because of school and how tired she'd be when she got home, and then I'd have to go to the gym for the shower/bathroom/food stuff, and -- and it was just atrocious. While dumpster diving I found a TV and was like "WOO, I CAN FINALLY GET HER SOME FUN!" Come home to find it's a $10k TV. I was stunned. I felt like I was cheating. But of course I sold it and built her a house. All this time I thought maybe everyone finds $10k TVs and using the Eco pack was like, a cheating path in the rags-to-riches story, so... thank you, Kayla, for making me feel like that's not true, haha!
I don't know why, but it's totally awesome that your sim in the let's play uses they/them pronouns. I realized this half way through the video. A true ally.
one tip: wen you see tehe paintings that do random sims you can sel that paintings. (you can had 1000$ for one painyings) in the city living you can find-dit by
