I just got a b-stock martial 50gfx today for 250e on thomann. Should be landing this week. I’m hoping it’s b-stock because the person didn’t like the tone, not because it’s damaged electronically!
The Marshall sounds much clearer to me. I have the Marshall MG10 for practicing and carrying around the house. Lovely sounding little amp. I love the Fender Champion 20. Do you still have yours Rich?

@@thenovicenoisemaker verdict, really nice sounding amp, very Marshall, can be very bright or very warm depending on the settings, nice tube sound. The gain channel is very gainy, not really my thing but the clean channel is very nice, and I’ll be plugging in pedals into it for overdrive. Was £350 at PMT

A tad difficult to tell over YT. For me, a small amp has to sound like a big amp, otherwise I'd rather have a big amp. I like my Spark 40 for home use. I have a Marshall 80W and two Vox 10W combo amps but don't use them. ;)
If your familiar with the boss katana 50...would you recommend the spark 40 over it? Looking for something new. I know the katana has a whole software programmable deal which I wouldn't toy around with. I just play metal at home and in the garage so want an easy set up
@@DressagePonyQueen just my opinion but no. If you use the Spark manually without the app there is nothing to be gained with the Spark. The sound quality is good but no match for the Katana. If metal is your thing (I’m a metal man even though I don’t play it) then maybe one of the Marshalls (I have one now, did a little video on it) or even a Fender Mustang LT25. The latter has done great presets, takes pedals well and sounds good too

@@thenovicenoisemaker the gold shecter tele was really nice that guitar looked and sounded great. the sandblasted HB, your vid was one of the vids I watched while deciding to make the purchase ( I purchased the orange one and it's now one of my favorite guitars that I own).
@@TheEARLD I really wanted the orange one but they weren't in stock. That guitar is still a top 10 of all the ones I've had. That Schecter was very pretty , weighed a tonne mind you. Didn't really gel with that sadly
@@thenovicenoisemaker when I got it I had to level one high fret and polish the frets wasn't necessary to polish them but I have a bit of an OCD with frets that are really, really shiny, went through the set up as you do with a new guitar. then started playing for what I thought was an hour and a bit turned out to be a bit longer cuz it had gone dark outside
@gitartha.kashyap.official yes. It’s a great amp with lots of good tones. Should be fine with a processor but it has no fx loop and pedals, especially modulation, delay etc, aren’t great through it

By the sound that comes out of my speakers, the Marshall wins. 🤔but it also comes down to the controls of the amps, what you like to use the most. It looks like I have to come over there and slap you!... I don't see any Chapman hybrid in the back 😉
Marshall has the fuller sound due to the larger speaker the blackstar would sound like wet fart when the gain is up , Blackstar has more functionality , pedals yes I am thinking of that since I have 3 Stack P90's having a noise gate is important, be nice if you could morph the functionality of Blackstar with the sound of the Marshall , good review

@@thenovicenoisemaker at the moment Boss Katana Mini I love it but I would love some extra features , great thing is when I do travel home to Toronto this year I can pack the mini no problem , and it's brown sound feature is amazing , I do like the Blackstar but I think the 20 watt would be better due to the bigger speaker, and reading on blackstar's side you can use their footswitch with the 20 you cannot with the 10
@@canadianintheukbrian ah that’s a cool amp! I’ve had the 20 and 40 of this Blackstar amp. There’s very little difference between the 20 and 40 which surprised me. I’ve had the TVP 15 and 30 watt which are better I think. Much better sound and even more features included valve simulators
Nice video, Rich. I think the Marshall is a bit more clear and bright, but the Blackstar is also a good amp.

For me out of those 2 the marshall would probably be my cuppa tea. The black star 30tvp is an awesome amp I know a couple of players who use them.
