With lyrics of regret and redemption at the end of one’s youth, the song is about Dora, and myself, but ultimately it is a reflection on all manifestations of mythical heroic maleness and its illusions.

@@heatherholiday9582 No doubt Dora had some horrific views and was more than likely a racist and anti-semite, it's worth noting he was raised in abusive households His step father Gard Chapin was known to be a violent alcoholic and racist who I would imagine shaped some of his step sons thinking. I'm not defending Dora but sometimes the damage and trauma are so great its never overcome. When Miki was at the age most would develop their own views and realize the error in what the have been shown he might not have. He was a troubled man.

haven't heard an album this good for a long time. can't stop listening for months now. I remember the same mood in summer 2011 when I discovered destroyer with genius Kaputt. but that time i found love and this summer i lost and with the help of this album i returned my loved one.

I live in North Hollywood. I've walked along, and into, the waves of North Beach, Monterrey, Malibu, Santa Monica, Zuma, Matador. As a Californian, I was definitely aware of Miki Dora and his legacy. This song is Diamond Sharp *B*R*I*L*L*I*A*N*T*. I'm so looking forward to seeing Amen Dunes in concert, at the Teragram Ballroom in Downtown Los Angeles!
