  • Today I will be going over the brand new Bauer Pack Out System from Harbor Freight. I'm comparing it to the original puckout system from Milwaukee and how they compare.

What system would you choose and why?

After fully invested in the DeWalt tough system, I switched to the Packout due to all its options. Bauer system looks good but it more compatible with the Tstak system by DeWalt. Nice review 😊

For the money I would definitely get the Bauer (actually bought two boxes yesterday lol.) My only gripe about them is the lack of available boxes you can add to the system compared to the Milwaukee which has like 5 times as many accessories. Sure the Packout can hold a lot more weight, but when in your right mind are you going to wheel around a completely maxed out Packout system with all of that weight in it? Just seems very redundant if you ask me lol. I will say that I do like the latching system on the Packout a lot more as it does provide a more secure and sturdy connection, but again, at that point you have to ask yourself if you absolutely NEED that strong of a connection based on how often you travel and move around with your boxes, what's in your boxes, how often it's going to be latched and unlatched, the environment it's going to be in, etc. For my needs, I don't need any of that, which is why I chose the Bauer system. Just still wish they would come out with more accessories to add to it lol.

I have the Bauer system and here's why. I did heavy repair for a Buick dealer back in the day and all I had was a Craftsman tool box system while everyone else was using Snap-on, Mac, etc. It's NOT the box you put stuff in it's the tools "IN IT". I kept all my Snap-on , MAC, Matco tools, etc in that kit. So saying ALL THAT to say this. While the Packout is GREAT I can spend MORE on better tools and still get all my kit on to the job.

bought the Bauer just for organizing supplies in the van, it just seemed easier than shelving and it makes easier to bring extra stuff right to my work area. I'm not sure I'd want to load it full of heavy tools but for my consumables it's awesome and I'm not paying $140 just to carry nails, glues, and dispensing guns

I work in Customers' homes. I bought both the Milwaukee Packout and the Harbor Freight (HF) modular system to test them around the house. After living with both for a week, I returned the Milwaukee Packout. I don't get the weight capacity difference because the axles in both systems are equal thickness. The HF boxes are slightly bigger on the inside and taller to accommodate larger tools. Even with smaller wheels, the HF system goes up stairs easier because of how the wheels integrate with the box frame. The unnecessarily oversized wheels of the Milwaukee eat up alot of interior space in the bottom box taking away usable tool space. The useless metal corner braces on the Milwaukee can easily catch on door handles. If the Milwaukee is heavily loaded, you could tear a screen door off its hinges if your not careful. The locking setup on the HF is superior. The HF has two locking points on the bottom box so the lid is held completely shut. The Milwaukee has only one so a thf can still reach in and take a tool. Padlocks on the HF don't interfere with your hands like they do on the Milwaukee. The unnecessarily oversized wheels of the Milwaukee eat up alot of interior space in the bottom box taking away usable tool space. The unnecessarily oversized wheels of the Milwaukee eat up alot of interior space in the bottom box taking away usable tool space.

Interesting. I had durability problems with the red latches thay attach the modules together. Also steel latches fall off all the time.

The Milwaukee says it’s small tool box can hold 75lb but it’s like what your guna put 75lbs of nuts and bits lmao some small hand tools maybe a power tool or two lol 😂 atleast bauer is being realistic

I started off with the kobalt/husky bags. They are still my go to bags for the light stuff I do. I have the 2.0 dewalt and now the pack out. So yeah I agree. You kinda work your way up. Dewalt seemed to do just enough to say they were in the game. They’re not serious about it though.

I know 2 people in the same trade. One earns slightly more and has a few Bauer tools but the other who earns a tad less is all the way Milwaukee.

Not even a competition just by naming off the specs. Bauer would have a better chance competing against husky, or craftsman, one of the lower quality storage options and even then those companies have continued to expand and upgrade their offerings. There is no rival to packout; tough system comes close but even then lacks the modularity ability. Kudos to Harbor freight but they should have set the bar way higher those slide clips look like a disaster. The organizer looks decent and the crate might be an ok option of you just want to wall hang stuff but yeah I don't even see it on the same playing field

Upfront cost is a one-time expense IF the product is built to last and be durable. I am leaning toward the Milwaukee just because of it's build quality, weight carrying capacity and it's wheel size. Harbor Freight items with wheels and axles are always suspect.

  • @workingcountry1776
    @workingcountry1776 9 месяцев назад

I reviewed the Harbor freight kit on my channel the week they came out. The red latches that attached the different boxes together would get drywall dust or regular saw dust in them and not work. Even a lil grit and forget about it.
I upgraded to Craftsman Trade Stack and am happy.
I had downgraded the baur to storage at home after 5 months or so

You are comparing apples to oranges. Rigid or Craftsman would have been more fair comparison. Milwaukee is for the professional contractor. Im a DIY'er and bought the dewalt tough system and still not even close to what the Milwaukee is.

Don’t tell them harbor freight dudes nothing. They’ll go straight through a brick wall for those eventual paper weight items they sell at that store. I get excited everytime I go in there as well. I almost always leave with all of my money though. They’ve burned me enough.

Over 200k invested in my Snap-On box. That's not even counting any of my pneumatic or brushless tools. If I could get a refund on it all, I would in a heart beat. I have invested about 1500 into Icon tools for our heavy-duty repair bay and have had beyond impressive result's. I replaced all my breaker bars with Icon because Snap-On breaker bars are complete trash. Replaced many of my ratchets as well recently. One of the techs working for me convinced me to give them a shot when I saw the abuse he puts his tools through. I have a Dewalt XTR, Snap-On, and Milwaukee 1/2 impacts that struggle to break some heavy equipment bolts. I felt defeated when my tech came over and made it look like a joke, with a $200 Hercules impact.
Yeah, their budget stuff is trash but the Icon, Hercules, even the Vulcan welders are impressive. Then add in the fact that the Icon tools are lifetime warranty which is great especially when there are fewer and fewer Snap-On trucks around. It takes me 2-3 weeks for tool replacement with Snap-On now, cause the drivers all closed up shop out here. So I am only left with either a 80mile drive to the nearest franchisee or snail mail.

If you want to call the bauer system a packout system, Milwaukee would not be the original. Other brands came before it. They are nothing alike. The closest resemblance is a combination off Ridgid system and Craftsman Vesastack.

Yep. There is a guy on RUclips who owns both the systems and says Milwaukee is way inferior in quality. This guy in the video is just looking at the price and guessing the quality. I own the Bauer system and it’s built like a tank.

@@abdullahal-shimri3091 I have the Milwaukee system and I really like the variety. I'm not a profesional, just a guy with a lot of DIY hobbies that needs to keep things organized. If Bauer offered more different styles of boxes that were compatable to their cordmess tools...radio, charging station, vaccuum, etc and offer more small parts boxes it could be a different story. I am a huge fan of the Bauer cordless tools.
