I have a question about the “uh” in French: is it considered ok to always use, even in polite or formal conversation?? Because here in the States saying “uh” or “um” has been something I’ve been scolded for though mostly in workplace (worked at a call center and got actual penalty for each one said) and in school when doing presentations etc. Is it seen the same like this in France for these little words?
Pretty much the same rules apply. Don't say "euh" when doing a presentation, but it's okay in day to day conversations. Also, French "euh" and English "uh" don't sound the same. If you can say the French "euh," it will actually make you sound more natural when speaking French.

What if we try speaking French (as a pure beginner) to a native speaker and they become outraged because our French had major flaws? Could you please tell me how to communicate with native speakers without getting caught?
Hi! I just watched another French tutorial video comment that TC's French was good, but very informal/inappropriate for a TV interview context?
He is fluent in french, i'm french and i have heard him in radio, or interviews, he speaks very well, actually at 97% fluent, even more now. A lil bit more of french conversations and his french gonna be perfect !
