That is because the CCP forced the minor ethic groups to adopt a more "modern standard" It is all politics, the local CCP doing it to prove their effort "lifting up 800 million people out of poverty" so they (local officials) could get a chance at the high table (politburo) In reality, they are forcing Han culture to everybody and ethic cleansing since the CCP believe different ethics create sub-division and is a threat to the national and party security.

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding. The burqa is just an outerwear. It's just a loose flowing garment that a woman wears when she goes outside. They still wear sparkly and stylish clothes but they don't advertise it to the public. Only other women/ their inner circle (husbands, family) will get to see them wear it. So that's why those clothes shops for women haven't been closed by the Taliban. Also keep in mind that these Taliban are the children of the original Taliban. They lived their whole childhood and life in fear and war and uncertainty. No human wants to live that type of life.
I don't know what the big deal is no one questions the Amish or Mennonite even though they to have incorporated some western ways but dress wise no. I see them all the time it does not bother me. Its a culture and some cultures thrive when they do not adhere to total western indoctrination.

I think jeans with traditional upper/shirt would no problem.
I don't mind if women have to wear a head covering because many feel it is part of their identity HOWEVER when women have to wear the full head piece with netting for the eyes IT IS RIDICULOUS because if a woman is studying or working how can she properly see through the netting? You can't and before you know it these women have to be stay-at-home housewives because their outfit stops them from being able to work or study properly. ....... That is the problem with the Taliban as it is subtle changes......Already curtains have been introduced at universities where women must sit on one side and men on the other, women are no longer allowed to be reporters ( apart from International female reporters) and people ( women) are no longer allowed to protest........These changes will keep happening and before you know it women will have no rights once again.
pls give them a try, time will tell. why? because taliban is now in control. just like when trump was in power, or when biden is in power now. just give them a try, and time will tell. ohh, btw, i heard taliban will apply the same rule with saudi arabian custom clothes.
I am an afghan that was born and raised up in the UK… this breaks my heart. My other family is there such as grandparents and cousins, I wonder how they are doing
Afghan loved their traditional clothes but their some places that you can’t wear them like school or some jobs let people wear whatever they wants to wear! May Allah bring peace help guide and protect us Ameen🤲🏻

It’s 2020 people can wear other traditional clothes from other country as well! And I’m shocked how can people like you still believe Talibans may Allah help us Ameen🤲🏻
Its great to keep tradition. I was rather disappointed when i visited the rural areas of China in 2019. The tribes no longer wear their traditional outfits unlike 12 years ago.
Chinese minority groups do still wear traditional clothes. Obviously, Han people wont wear a hanfu in the city but there is a revival.
Not great ehen u are forced to wear it
Do u wanna wear it daily
Modern clothes are more comfy and relaxed for any person
Every era has it clothes and 21st century does have too
That is because the CCP forced the minor ethic groups to adopt a more "modern standard"
It is all politics, the local CCP doing it to prove their effort "lifting up 800 million people out of poverty" so they (local officials) could get a chance at the high table (politburo)
In reality, they are forcing Han culture to everybody and ethic cleansing since the CCP believe different ethics create sub-division and is a threat to the national and party security.
Not at all great to impose tradition .
Positive change. The world is not solely comprised of the west yet global westernization has stripped many people of pride in their cultural roots. Imagine being looked down on for wearing your own cultural clothes in your own country. That is the case of many Asian countries.
I understant that but right now in Afghanistan that's not the case. They have traditional clothing that they wore and were proud of, like women wearing patterned multi-colored dresses. That's taken away under the Talibans strict regime where women can only wear black or blue burqas.
Oh yes , peaceful regime...

Shocking!! How can Afghans wear Afghani clothes? What is this? Who will wear western cloths then?
Lol.

Not all of them are traditional actually the long skirt and belly tops are Indian, some of the dresses are Pakistani.

Traditional afghan clothing would look fabulous on chinese people.

It seems like they have a beautiful culture.
Nice
The Taliban terrorists will do their best to erase it by replacing it with their burqas and niqabs

I don't know what the big deal is no one questions the Amish or Mennonite even though they to have incorporated some western ways but dress wise no. I see them all the time it does not bother me. Its a culture and some cultures thrive when they do not adhere to total western indoctrination.
But those groups choose to do so. Previously all women under Taliban rule had to wear full burqas and those who didn't were punished. I'm happy with a woman wearing one of her own free will, but having it forced upon you is what I disagree with.
