Love this conversation! Its so true! The inly thing is about hrt. I've tried it on and off for a few years but i get terrible side effects from it. I really want to be onit though asi want to replace my hormones. I'm still searching for how i can do it without horrendous side effects. I eat well and excercise so weight is fine but it's the rhings that we can't see that the hormones help with

I’m so confused about protein. I was feeling great eating 1 gm per pound of body weight. But now there is SO much out there about lower protein plant-based diet but heard amounts as low as 0.4 mg per pound of body weight in longevity diets. The more protein, the higher the mTOR levels. Negative impact on the epigenome. But I successfully lost weight, built muscle and was not hungry on 130 gm of protein with a total of about 1400 calories a day when working with a trainer. It seems there a two opposing schools of thought on protein intake. Dr. Valter Longo, Dr. David Sinclair, many more recommend lower protein levels, plant-based diet. Super hard for me as I came from typical American diet.

Interesting that you posted this video/subject today. Last week I started a 100 squats and pliés per day challenge with myself. I started with 50 last Wednesday and by today I got to 75. I am doing M-F and resting Sat & Sunday. Now I am wondering if I should do every other day instead of every week day and skipping the 2 days on the weekends. Along with these squats & pliés I have been lifting free weights to try and strengthen my arms, as well as a rebounder that I jump on for cardio (when I remember to). Not so disciplined with that. I am 54 and notice that I am not nearly as flexible as I once was so I have been doing a stretching routine in the early evenings to increase my flexibility. I do not want to be one of those people who falls and injures something because I am tight as a rubber band. I want to get my flexibility back because that was one of my bragging points that I could touch my nose to the floor while sitting, legs spread out to the side. Now I am struggling to lean forward much at all. I WILL get there!!

Hey there, I recommend 1g of protein for ideal body weight. So for example I eat 120g. I talked about all of this in my previous RUclips video about my favorite protein sources. You can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/3Xy6OJ-yw7Y/видео.html

I'm 49 years old, I'm in perimenopause, I've gained 5 kg, but I've had a cervical spine operation, I still have an unoperated cervical hernia, one thoracic and 3 unoperated lumbar hernias, and now there's one on the knee. I have had all these problems since my youth after two car accidents. How can I at least maintain muscle mass if I have so many restrictions?! What do you recommend? How can I lose this 5 kg?

I’m confused. Granted, it’s probably my menopause brain, but how could a person consume 1 gram of protein per ideal body weight (145 for me) with in six hours? Especially if we can’t metabolize large quantities at a time. I feel I’m missing a big piece of the puzzle in these discussions.

I wonder what pound of weights should I start out with? I am 73 years old. How much protein should you eat in 1 day?
