Similarly, in the macho man fight, a person in the bottom right wearing sunglasses drops his shades when macho man is about to throw his single close-line punch. You can see it at 24:24

I like how Mike compliments your "finger speed" if you win, just to make it clear that unless we were Buster Douglas, we were never, _ever_ going to knock him out anywhere but on our NES.

How is that? They are in every way the exact same except for Tyson and Dream color. Their trunks are even the same. Every punch and every dance are the same.
Such a timeless classic. Mr dream can’t compare in his port to the original. Can’t believe all those carts still work despite the heavy usage over the years.

As a kid, Super Macho Man was my stop. Playing on Wii or Nes Classic I couldnt get past Soda Popinski because of input lag. It took a CRT and the original nes to finally beat Tyson! It felt so great all these years later.
I always heard about how awesome this game was, and now I got to see up close and personal. The higher you go in the ranks, the harder it is for stars to get the “power punches.” Sometimes you have to “rope the dope” to get him where you want him for the knockout blow.

Stumbled on your channel. This brought back so many memories. I’m 49 years old and I got this game when it first came out. I think I still remember the code to go directly to Mike
Fight Night needs to remake this. A boxer working at an arcade finds an old Punch Out arcade after taking off the dusty cover. Decides to plug it in and give it a play. He gets sucked into the game. And in order to escape, he has to become the world champ and beat Mike Tyson!
Never played this as a kid though new about it. I was more into non-sports games. Very excellent playthrough. Thank you for letting me watch it from a pro for the first time. Was enjoyable..
It’s surprising how a seventeen year old boy who’s still in high school is beating the shit out of experienced grown men who already have their own lives to deal with. Highest I ever got to was Don Flamenco (the second one), never was able to get to Mr. Sandman, Super Macho Man, or Mike Tyson.
Uncle Brad rest in peace I miss you and love you. You introduced me to Nintendo and Mike Tysons punch out. It's really comforting to me watching this listening to the classic music and sound FX. I just want to have a conversation with my uncle right now...
I think what also contributed to making this game so great was you had to learn every fighter, everyone has their own style. I'm a big fan of Champion, but every fighter basically threw the same punches, just with different attributes. Although I haven't played Undisputed, the one thing I've noticed is that every boxers' style is different and somewhat relates to how they move in the ring, physics just seem to be off.
Thanks so much for showing me how to get more stars in Round 2 of Mike Tyson. After ten years, I have finally beat all fighters and seen the end screen.
This is what got me into watching real boxing. My dad is a boxing fan and growing up we would play punch out together and as I grew older he introduced me to the fights on ppv (we had the black box😂)...and it's been our bonding activity ever since. As a kid I could always get to tyson but never beat him legit. I could beat tyson with game genie or saved states.
And the good old days of watching boxing on HBO, Showtime, ESPN, ABC, Prime Network (later Fox Sports Net and Bally Sports) and USA, way before the days of Premier Boxing Champions, TrillerTV (formerly FITE) and DAZN!
Oh you’re finally getting to this little old game? Haha Can’t wait to read your detailed thoughts on this one. This is still what I’d consider the best boxing game ever made. Nothing can touch it’s playability and unique play style. Not to mention the super charming presentation and the fact it’s one of the first celebrity endorsed video games. Soda Popinski and I are having a few drink’s tonight to celebrate this channel featuring the great MTPO.
I absolutely loved this game , there was a set of twin teenagers that lived up from me, they were the only dudes I ever seen even make it to Mike Tyson. I had my grandparents get me the power glove because of this game
Loved this game growing up, it’s a true classic. I only ever beat Tyson once at the 2:59 mark in the last round-I won by the skin of my teeth, but still thrilled I (barely) won. 😄
Watching this game being played on youtube gave me the same feeling as walking into a room, and feeling dazed, as if remembering that I had been in the room before, when I actually hadn't. I can't believe it's been 36 years since I played it
From what I remember Tyson would back up and go into a rage after the first knock down. Didn't see that in this one. You had to avoid a flurry of punches and one hit you were down.
I was 9 years old when I first rented MTPO in 1988 and I remember I was stressin on Bald Bull the first one, it was a hard game back then when working up the ranks. I remember renting the game again a few weeks later determined to get past 1st Bald Bull but couldn't. Finally I ended up buying the game a few months later and I remember getting past Bald Bull and then I was stuck on the other huge dudes. It was a challenging game back in the day.
I remember going to toys R us to purchase this game back in 1988 in Las Vegas along with spy hunter. The games were stored behind the glass like todays method
I never saw a Toys R Us with a glass case. The ones I went to had tickets that you'd take to checkout. The actual games were a walk-in cage near the exit.
Glass Joe is the only opponent in the entire game that you can get an OHKO on. There's no other opponent you can get a KO from by just hitting them once! Edit: nvm I completely forgot to edit this 7 months ago, but Piston Honda 2 you can also knock out in an OHKO
The Legend of Zelda and this were my first 2 NES games. I was nervous fighting Tyson until I beat him in the game regularly. It took a while on Zelda to get through level 9. They got my boys into this and they play All Zelda, Metroid, and Final Fantasy games now.

🧔🏿♀️🦑
I loved this game when I first played it I was 14 years old. It was my first boxing game I owned. Oh how I wish I can go back in time and relive it.
more entertaining than the actual fight
Fun fact: during the bald bull fights, when bald bull is about to do his bull charge, a camera from the bottom right of the crowd flashes, indicating the time a player should throw a punch and knock him down.
Similarly, in the macho man fight, a person in the bottom right wearing sunglasses drops his shades when macho man is about to throw his single close-line punch. You can see it at 24:24
Saw nothing of the sort
@@nickrockxu2113 that’s on you. The developers said decades later that this was the case, it wasn’t well known until then. Google it.
Saw it, but man, thats tough to track while paying attention to MM.
@@ALT3REDB3AST yeah that’s why no one ever spotted it for thirty years! Developer told everyone about it. People had spotted the Bald Bull one.
32:00 Jake Paul!
I keep thinking of the Studio C sketch on Punch Out.
"You booked me in a fight with Mike Tyson? I weigh 100 pounds and he's the world heavyweight champion."
"Yes you can Mac."
"So this is how I die....I hate you forever and always."
"Join the Nintendo fan club today."
Wow!!
What a fun game to play growing up in the 80s. All the boxing characters were so exciting to me as a kid. Seeing them again brings back so nostalgia. And now Mike is back in the ring again. Unbelievable!
I was born 1987, the same year this game came out.. classic Iron Mike Tyson game. I played this in early 90's as a kid good times🥊🇮🇹
This is one of the few NES games that truly hold up. At least if you're playing in a way that eliminates input lag.
I got beat by Glass Joe once when trying to play with an extremely suboptimal emulator setup.
@@D-Fens_1632 lol WOW damn.
@@D-Fens_1632gee whiz! 😅
I got my name in Nintendo power in 1989 as first person to beat Tyson! I got so good at this game I could sit down now and in 2-3 try’s beat Tyson over 30 years later
One of my favorite games, ever.
Still to this day one of the best games of all time hand's down
Played this game as a kid. Was hard to begin with but after playing it a lot of times, got better with the movements including Tyson’s punches. Good game though.
27:33: “IT’S ALL OVER! MILLS LANE STOPS THE FIGHT WITH 1:05 TO GO IN ROUND 2, AND WE HAVE A NEW WVBA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD, AND HE’S FROM THE BRONX!!!!!”-Jim Lampley.
(Replays)
“Let’s go down to Michael Buffer for the official decision.”-Jim Lampley.
“Ladies and gentlemen, referee Mills Lane has called a stop to this bout at 1:55 of the second round, declaring the winner by TKO and NEW Undisputed WVBA Heavyweight Champion of the World… LITTLE MAC!!!!!”-Michael Buffer.
Just a week after Summoning Salt did his speedrun history video on this game, we get this as well :) One thing that always confused me though was why Bald Bull was ranked below Don Flamenco in the World Circuit.
Maybe because the Don is able to fight bulls.
I like how Mike compliments your "finger speed" if you win, just to make it clear that unless we were Buster Douglas, we were never, _ever_ going to knock him out anywhere but on our NES.
Watching this brings back so many great memories! I can feel myself getting tensed up again remembering mashing buttons trying to land punches! This was my favorite NES game and an all-time classic. Someone find me a time machine...
This version is way better than the Mr. Dream version
I AGREE 100%
Fun Fact: Did you know Mike Tyson never heard or played the game til 2013 since Nintendo no longer has the license to Mike Tyson when he was defeated by Buster Douglas for the very first time
How is that? They are in every way the exact same except for Tyson and Dream color. Their trunks are even the same. Every punch and every dance are the same.
FR
Such a timeless classic. Mr dream can’t compare in his port to the original. Can’t believe all those carts still work despite the heavy usage over the years.
Not sure what you mean it can't compare. It's exactly the same game.
Umm because it’s not the same. How about replacing wesker with a bum? Or what about final fantasy 7 without cloud?@@gr8gmr
Little Mac: whatever he hits, he destroys!
Mike Tyson is waiting for your challenge
@@Dr-WeirdAnd a good orthodontist, I hope.
*_"Let's keep it clean! Now come out boxing!"_*
Now you gotta do the original arcade
Great job versus Iron Mike; very impressive!
I used to play this all the time!
I found this game a year ago, and loaded it up and let my 20yr old daughter play. She lost to Flemonco...
And not the 2nd one the 1st one!! , I was so ashamed I just shook my head. 😮😂
Wasn't a big boxing fan but this game was pretty damn rad growing up
As a kid, Super Macho Man was my stop.
Ah my old nemesis Super Macho Man, you gave 8 year old me a consistent beat down, glad to finally witness your defeat
OK so I'm 46 years old when I found out you can beat Glass Joe in one punch.
Honeslty it's more fun to just work his ass over though.
I was thinking the same thing! Lol! I loved giving him the buissness!
The music makes me feel good 🥹💪🏿💯💯
The absolute best sounds... pure simplicity!
31:51: “So we have a new WVBA Heavyweight Champion of the World in Little Mac, the 17 year old Bronx native who took care of the 27 year old Super Macho Man in two rounds, and it took five knockdowns for Little Mac to achieve his lifelong dream. That’s it from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. For Larry Merchant, George Foreman, Harold Lederman, Michael Buffer and our entire HBO Sports crew, I’m Jim Lampley, and from all of us at HBO Sports, have a Merry Christmas.”-Jim Lampley.

Stumbled on your channel. This brought back so many memories. I’m 49 years old and I got this game when it first came out. I think I still remember the code to go directly to Mike
Left right left right up down up down B A B A start
Better than Paul vs. Tyson.
I had to come back here just to cleanse myself from that.
@SolarFarle Same here.
Never knew about the Glass Joe trick. I always just clobbered him (but that takes longer!).
I had no idea how you beat this game like magic, bro. You got the touch!
What a classic game. Round 1. FIGHT! Star Punch! KO!
I totally forgot about the Sandman secret, after he does those lightning uppercuts to do the L-R-L-R body shots because you get a whole lot more in.
I was 8 when I beat this game and Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2.
Fight Night needs to remake this.
A boxer working at an arcade finds an old Punch Out arcade after taking off the dusty cover.
Decides to plug it in and give it a play.
He gets sucked into the game.
And in order to escape, he has to become the world champ and beat Mike Tyson!
Congratulations you have just unlocked Iron Mike Tyson
Never played this as a kid though new about it. I was more into non-sports games. Very excellent playthrough. Thank you for letting me watch it from a pro for the first time. Was enjoyable..
That mugshot is an underrated jumpscare
It was for me as a kid. I used to catch my father playing this at like the worst times before bed.
At least they got the teeth right, hey?!
Hello, I want to ask, what is the technique that Little Mac uses to avoid King Hippo's blow?
You can make him duck by double-tapping down.
@@NintendoComplete thanks i try
Uncle Brad rest in peace I miss you and love you. You introduced me to Nintendo and Mike Tysons punch out. It's really comforting to me watching this listening to the classic music and sound FX. I just want to have a conversation with my uncle right now...
damn now this brings back memories one of my favorite games along with Contra....the game genie was life saver.
brings back all kinds of memories from the 80's
DADDY COME HOME!!! Why? Why does Mario suddenly have a family that he’s forgotten about!?
I think what also contributed to making this game so great was you had to learn every fighter, everyone has their own style.
I'm a big fan of Champion, but every fighter basically threw the same punches, just with different attributes.
Although I haven't played Undisputed, the one thing I've noticed is that every boxers' style is different and somewhat relates to how they move in the ring, physics just seem to be off.
Everyone's favorite Punch Out.
Thank you for the nostalgia. Awesome.
'Iron' Mike Tyson, the baddest man on the planet, at this time was on top of the world, and becoming a household name in sports.
Yep, youngest man to get the title in boxing history during the 80s....
Thanks so much for showing me how to get more stars in Round 2 of Mike Tyson.
After ten years, I have finally beat all fighters and seen the end screen.
The person playing is the punh out king
I’m at Macho and seen him hit one time
Mike Tyson
Great Fighting!! You Were Tough, Mac!
I've Never Seen Such
Finger Speed Before. 31:50
So many memories. That was a game that was even fun for everyone not playing to watch and cheer on whoever was playing. Loved that game!
I forgotten that mario was the referee
My favorite boxing game all the ages.
I like the knockdown sound when someone’s going down
This is what got me into watching real boxing.
Mike Tyson is one of the toughest last bosses I remember ever fighting in an NES game. The slightest mistake can lose you the fight in an instant.
Ah yes, the good ol' days of pirating cable TV. Good times.
And the good old days of watching boxing on HBO, Showtime, ESPN, ABC, Prime Network (later Fox Sports Net and Bally Sports) and USA, way before the days of Premier Boxing Champions, TrillerTV (formerly FITE) and DAZN!
Bravo champion! J'ai des souvenirs incroyables des combats de Mike Tyson. J'étais adolescent devant la TV. Et Mister Tyson écrasait tout le monde.
How much score did you have because if you have 5000 score on Tyson you will win by decision
You misremember
@@Woodyfiel nope
@@michaelweston1042 YES YOU DO BRO, Tyson has no different interactions when he gets knocked down, he just gets back to the beggining of his pattern
And this time Mike Tyson didn't try to bite Little Mac's ear off 🤣
This game has aged so well. Don Flamingo reminds me of Tom Jones, and Bald Bull reminds me of R Bear, from Streets Of Rage 2.
31:39 TKO Iron Mike with 4 seconds left in the round!
Glass Joe is the only opponent in the entire game that you can get an OHKO on. There's no other opponent you can get a KO from by just hitting them once!
Edit: nvm I completely forgot to edit this 7 months ago, but Piston Honda 2 you can also knock out in an OHKO
Glass jaw for Glass Joe😂
Piston Honda II too
Piston Honda 2 btw
The Legend of Zelda and this were my first 2 NES games. I was nervous fighting Tyson until I beat him in the game regularly. It took a while on Zelda to get through level 9. They got my boys into this and they play All Zelda, Metroid, and Final Fantasy games now.
Watching this is certainly a feeling of nostalgia. I’m 43 and I remember playing this game at 6 years old. SMH 🤦♂️
Sandman and Machoman are powerhouses i really struggle with, even if i manage to beat them through sheer chance and luck, Mike is just where i stop.
Este amigo si es un profesional. Derrotó a todos los oponentes de forma excepcional.
12:49 I was the only one in the house who could time the Bull rush punch. My siblings and friends would throw the controller at me when it was about to happen. And if I missed, I would get so much flack for it!!! Good times😂😂😂
