I have one and love it. Yesterday I killed a doe at 125 yards. Could drop a baseball in exit wound. An hour later I dropped a 175 pound boar in his tracks.
No. If you want to run smokeless you need to have a proper gunsmith do a conversion. The pressures aren't just higher, they also build up differently than BPowder. You can always pull a forrest gump and do whatever the fuck you want, just send us pictures of the surgery
Would you recommend getting the Sig Sauer 2.5- 8X32mm or the Sig sauer 4.5-14x44mm or my other option is the vortex tactical 16X44 don’t know to much about scopes but building a long range muzzle loader!
I would go the 4.5-14 Sig or 4-16 Vortex....it’s he right magnification vs weight vs long range performance that fit ‘most muzzleloaders with 500yd capabilities. What muzzleloader you going with?
Hey I need some major help I got a Sig scope and I have no idea the info I put in for my app for the bullet and the gun... but do you know the bullet diameter, weight and coeff and the the firearms muzzle velocity and slight of hand is I got use the same gun and bullet as you!
Yeah this is a tough one for muzzleloaders even for top of the line setups like these. The ballistics, velocity and BC are so sensitive and need to be accurate...I generally go with a base velocity of 2250 if I don’t have a chrono, the BC is listed as .452. Start with those stats. Zero at 100yds then shoot a group out to 300 or 400 and determine the drop of it doesn’t line up with your data adjust velocity accordingly to get your dope. This is all assuming you don’t have a chrono...it’s very effective way to get good hard info for your long range setups.
I go back and forth mused that’s why we use both...Remington is super easy to use that’s it’s big advantage IMO....the CVA is a little more capable and it was specifically built around the ELR bullet which is very effective.
Hey I heard from a sportsman warehouse guy that they will be making this gun not Legal anymore and this year will be the last year for it? Can you confirm this or was this guys just full of it?
I am definitely not a Remington Only type of guy, I really like the Winchester Model 70, Howa 1500, and even the cheaper Ruger American. The Rem 700 is preferred because of the modifications are easy to come by and available, stocks, triggers, bases etc.
So I've been looking into buying the paramount htr for my December mule deer tag here in az. Do u think this is worth the investment? Is this gun really a 500 yard gun?
Yes this is a legit 500 yard gun, a bit more so than the Remington Ultimate IMO because of design and caliber. The real issue is not it’s long range capability, it’s availability of powder and primers, the paramount requires blackhorn 209 and rifle primers which both are really hard to find right now…if you have a stash of primers and can find some BH209 it’s the best option. If not the Remington Ultimate is easier to use and powder/primer availability is not an issue.

Awesome....they do lay the hammer on deer!
. How many shots can the paramount handle before you have to clean it. I would never shoot 300 yards at a whitetail with a muzzleloader.
What ballistics calculator are you using
Curious why you’re bc is .452 and the powerbelt .45 elr box says .333?
Love your style and content. I’m looking for a 300yd muzzleloader too. Thanks
On a 1 to 10, how do you like your rifle for long range?
Are you going to be getting the paramount pro?
Has anyone tried any of the Savage 10ML smokeless loads in this rifle?
No. If you want to run smokeless you need to have a proper gunsmith do a conversion.

I’m thinking about putting a diamond back vortex tactical In a 6x24x50 on my paramount. Would this be a good choice
Yeah that’s a great scope, keep in mind they don’t have a zero stop feature but you can always index the zero from its bottom point.
That’s a lot of magnification for the paramount. I think I’m gonna put 4-16X44 on mine did you get that scope already!?
@@rendendye8741 not yet but I ordered the arken scope for it it’s a 6x24 also
@@ericeverson6822 nice have you seen the Sig sauer scope? And why did you end up getting that scope?
@@rendendye8741 yea way to much for me i would love to have it just to much money.

Haven’t heard of this but they are making and have made 2 more modes on the same platform so it’s not going anywhere it may be your states laws...
