    If you're willing to cast and patch, you could go with a Lee 459-500-3r with a .443 BC (or NOE 459-500-CB6 with .391) size them to about 5 thousandths under bore, and paper patch them ( it's a little slow, but the barrel twist might stabilize them, it sucks that they're sticking with what amounts to pistol weight bullets). Then you realistically would have a muzzle loading 45-110, or .45-120 then, and those were used in LR comps (out to 1000yds) in the late 1800's

      also, look into a "precision packer", it's a loading tool that greatly aids you in being consistent with load compression (for a ML, it's the equivalent of Cartridge Overall length, Neck tension, and seating depth; all rapped up in one)

      Awesome info...I am unwilling to do any of that lol! It’s difficult reloading for 5 rifles, 2 long range pistols and then really give the right attention to what you’re taking about I have a biddy who does and hats off to you both!

    Sweet. I have the exact setup you do on my Paramount. I had it set up with the muzzle brake from CVA and just got it back from them so we will see if I can get on steel like you have..

      Awesome a muzzle brake will definitely help! Just make sure not of the BH 209 slides out of the holes...but I’m sure you will use a good funnel! Good luck and straight shooting!

    I’m looking to get into muzzy since I have 4 custom built long range rifles but I felt that kick in your vid lol. Is their a brake on it?

    What ballistics calculator are you using

    What size rings did you put on the gun. I have a huskemaw 5x20x50 and I'm debating on what size tally rings to get. any suggestions?

    • @timmywinslow
      @timmywinslow  3 года назад +1

      I would recommend high rings with the 50mm objective, it will give you more room for adjustments as well with these relatively sluggish muzzleloaders at long range compared to a rifle. I’ve had good experience with all Talley rings, good luck this season🤙

    Got a question why do you yank the trigger so hard does that not effect your long range shooting I feel like that would be harder to stay consistent

  • @rendendye8741
    @rendendye8741 3 года назад

    Would you recommend getting the Sig Sauer 2.5- 8X32mm or the Sig sauer 4.5-14x44mm or my other option is the vortex tactical 16X44 don’t know to much about scopes but building a long range muzzle loader!

    • @timmywinslow
      @timmywinslow  3 года назад

      I would go the 4.5-14 Sig or 4-16 Vortex....it’s he right magnification vs weight vs long range performance that fit the muzzleloader for that 500yd long range capabilities. What muzzleloader you choose?

    Hey I heard from a sportsman warehouse guy that they will be making this gun not Legal anymore and this year will be the last year for it? Can you confirm this or was this guys just full of it?

    What gr bullet powder What primers you using, what are your MOA from 200 t0 650, these are things im sure people like to know, not where to put your face on the butt of a stock or a video watching you shoot, boring. Anyone can shoot consistently off bags, what grain powder is sufficient for maximum accuracy, what set up are you using , Thanks for sharing

    • @timmywinslow

      All that info has always been in the video description…check it out same for all the other shooting vids. That way you don’t have to pause the video to listen to what I say or go back and look to find a clip with the info…hope that helps👍

      Oh I see....so you are still at the hit or miss level... when you level up and you actually start long range shooting it’s more than just hitting a paper plate at 100yds bubba...Go back to your old man forums that pat you on the back for shooting all day at your 100yd ranges and Walmart equipment and cleaning your rifle 3 times a day...😂😂😂😂
