I bought 2 of these guns , they are a very good gun to me and very accurate . My 3 shot groups most times has no paper between the so not quite the same hole but very close . I always fire 105 grains of 209 by weight and changed to magnum large rifle primers cause was having abit of trouble with large rifle primers , sense the switch I have had zero problems and I average 2297 feet per second on bullet speed and that hardly changes 10 feet per second from round to round . To me is like a .300 win mag just more bullet drop out at further ranges . Gun hits real hard and deer most times just drop , zero tracking which is nice . I really like mine
We agree. We are going to look at making some videos in the next couple months about maybe pushing the limits on the Paramount a little. Probably related to long distance shooting. Thanks for watching and taking the time to give us your experience and input!
I bought my Paramount HTR .40 caliber a few months ago. Unfortunately bullets, powder and primers are nowhere to be found! Everywhere is out of stock. That being said, I have no idea how my gun shoots. Glad for you that you are able to find components to shoot.
@@After5Outdoors , I bought lots of powder and 45 cal bullets as well . I think I bought 15 packs of bullets when I bought the 2 guns , I'm waiting on the 40 cal HTR and hope it will show up in the next couple months and hope the .40 ELR bullets show up as well
I saw your post in out FB MLgroup. Thought I'd come see your video. I've had my Paramount since last Nov. we've had them bout the same time. I started out shooting 105grW BH 209 with the ELR's right from the beginning. I put a DNZ 1pc Game Reaper mount/rings on mine with a Viper PST Gen2 5-25x50 FFP IRMOA scope on it. It's heavy alright. More of a benchrest style & weight
We really appreciate you taking the time to comment on our video. We are be going to doing alot of experimenting with the Paramount here in the near future. The possibilities are endless with this rig. We really appreciate your input. Hope you have a fantastic season!
@@After5Outdoors Thanks for your kind reply. I'm happy to hear that you have more testing & experimenting with your Paramount as well. I have 250 & 275gr Parker BE's, 275gr Parker Black Max, 270gr Parker E Max, 275gr Parker Match Hunters & 310gr Parker Match/HUnter Hollow Base bullets ( all bumped up to .4525 ) to test out at the 105gr W BH 209 charges. The BE's in both weights both shot very well. I have yet to test the others. I would love to see that 310gr M/H hollow base perform @500-600yds in it. I can only shoot to the lil over 400 I have set up on folks place. Try some Fury .453 STB 265gr bullets in your Paramount. Im summer they are load shoot without re sizing from .453. They will shoot well with a 1/8" felt wad ( I use .50 felt wads in my .45's with sized bullets) they also shoot sub moa without any wad & faster than the 280gr ELR's with fantastic accuracy & performance & they don't Burger your deer ON THE HOOF. really a great deer/pig bullet. If you want to share info/ learn from each other, plz let me know & we can do that but in private messages, I'd prefer. I can't/won't post exactly what I'm doing & the direction I'm taking my gun in in an open forum. BUt privately with another competent shooter, sure, no probs at all. Whats your FB SN? I'll hit ya up in messenger or our muzzleloading group if you'd like.
@@After5Outdoors I sent your buddy Al a messg through FB messenger. I guess he dont want nothin to do with me I'm guessin due to his religious beliefs. Damn shame, but oh well, I get it. Well wishes, enjoyed chattin with ya. Peace out
The powder and bullet is loaded from the barrel, so it is a legal muzzleloader. It's accuracy is that of a rifle. It is amazing how accurate it is. If a guy was going to do a trip for big game out of state during a muzzleloader season this particular tool would be the one to use!
Hey I need some major help I got a Sig scope and I have no idea the info I put in for my app for the bullet and the gun... but do you know the bullet diameter, weight and coeff and the the firearms muzzle velocity and slight of hand is I got use the same gun and bullet as you!
The bullet diameter would be .001" under bore diameter which is .45, the bullet I use is the 280 grain ELR bullet so 280 grains. The velocity is all going to depend on the amount of powder you are using. I had read somewhere earlier that if you use 150 grain of powder it puts your FPS at around 2200 FPS muzzle velocity but I have not done my research on that yet. Hope this helps you, otherwise could always call the customer service, they are very helpful.
@john M, we have not experienced any ingnition issues. Last year we hunted in -20F. The thing that is key I think is keeping the powder dry. We make sure not to bring the powder inside at night, it is possible to get condensation there are large temp swings, say like bringing it inside from -20 to room temp. We plan on doing some extreme testing this winter. Thanks so much for watching.
@@After5Outdoors Yes condensation can certainly be a problem here. I keep my loaded weapon outside as well. Had some bad experiences with BH209 in the cold and went back to 777. Looks like I'll be about $1,000 poorer sometime between now and next muzzleloader season. Thanks for the vids!
It currently has the vortex diamond back 3-9x40, with the mildot reticle. The reticle will give you the opportunity for further distance if you understand how to use it. But I plan on going to a diamond back 4-16 or 6-18x44. The gun has so much more distance to offer then this scope allows. Hope this helps!
Mine is junk. Purchased it last year after muzzleloading season. Had a few misfires at the range. It is accurate. Now in the middle of a week of hunting it is only shooting one to two times out of ten. Lite strikes on the primer. Beyond disappointed and dissatisfied. Missed three bucks this week because it would not fire. I maintain it per the manual and have made zero mods. JUNK! Looking forward to hearing back from CVA.
@@After5Outdoors Forgot to mention, I have reloaded in the field several times with the collapsible rod and it worked fine. Maybe I have just been lucky.
Great video but the open sights idea is trash why buy a Long range muzzloader and expect it to have open sights a regular muzzloader would be fine for that you don't buy a corvette and expect it to preform like a Honda

Wow, that's a tight group. Nice review, guys.
The Paramount is an amazing muzzleloader, takes smokepole hunting to a whole new level
solid review, very informative Alex!
Appreciate that sir. Thank You
That thing is setup better than most rifles
It actually shoots better than alot of rifles too. I'm really surprised how squared away it is. It is a quality made product
It’s definitely quality.
I would recommend it for sure!
Nice shooting, good review.
Thank you
Very nice muzzleloader!!! Awesome review!!
Thanks Shiner! Really appreciate you as always, hope you have an awesome day sir.
Great video! Nice target shooting and honest review 👍
The Paramount is a winner, no doubt about it
Great job guys
Hey appreciate it! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Thanks man, good info
Appreciate it
Nice review. Well explained.
Thank You, Happy Thanksgiving to you sir!
appreciate both pros and cons
We call it like we see it
Parker productions will size his projectiles to shoot bullet to bore and that are accurate and perform well.
we will look into that
the free floating barrel can't have rod holders on it. I just ordered the 40 cal htr. I know it will be awesome.
The Paramount shines!
At the beginning of the video, I was wondering where the ramrod would go. Looks like a good gun.
That is an issue with it
Very neat rifle
It almost is a rifle.....😂😂😂

Nope, so far only issues was one of my primers didn’t go off but pretty sure it got wet.

120 by volume? Of bh209...
Nice rifle, muzzle brake maybe ??
I think we're going to leave it stock for now. But you never know. Appreciate you watching.
looks like a bergara
I have one. Have killed several deer and hogs with it. I love the gun !
It's a deer slayin machine!

Some states require open sights for muzzleloader season
@@After5Outdoors I understand that but no one buys a Long range muzzloader to only shoot it open sights
Some people enjoy the challenge. Like the old time buffalo hunters with the Sharps rifle. Everybody's different.
