- [Ep. 930] A relaxing ride from 's-Hertogenbosch to National Park Loonse en Drunense Duinen and back. A roundtrip of 40km in a little over 2 hours (but I did stop a few times). Recorded on Wednesday 9 March 2022. This was my last ride before I had open-heart surgery. More information in the blog post: bicycledutch.w...
Glad to hear your surgery went fine and you may cycle back again soon. Amicalement de France !
So glad to hear that your surgery went well, Mark.
Wishing you all the best in your recovery.
Glad to hear your surgery went well!
a 2 hour video of a bike ride is a bit niche, but it is a very nice niche, perfect to have on while I'm doing housework, give me a feeling of getting out when I have thing to do that makes it so I can't get out right then :)
Also: imagine if we had a full video like this of the same trip 50, or 70, years ago! So much local history, so much history of many aspects, could be learned. How do we create resources like that for future generations? We create them today!
Thanks for this, my health has been very bad and I’ve not been able to cycle all year, very nice.
Thanks for this ride, seems like a good ride to clear your head, and something to work hard to be doing quick :-)
Ik heb eerder deze week een flink stuk van deze route gewandeld. Van Bosch en Duin naar de Roestelberg/IJsbaan, en terug. Helaas nog te vroeg in het seizoen dus de ijscoboer staat er nog niet haha.
Thank you for another great ride Mark and so glad to know your surgery went well and that you're back on the bike. I like the longer rides for my excercise on the rollers and of course the natural sounds of road and the freedom from commercials! Very nice camera and video work!
Take care, sending you all the best thoughts!
Ooh I did enjoy that! 😊I can't believe you undertook it before your operation though... and weren't you lucky too. So glad you're on the mend, listen to your specialists and listen to your body. You'll soon be back out there again. Btw I'd be quite happy to have a look at the countryside when you stop for a break. I'm beginning to get out on my SMV e-bike again now it's warming up, I often cycle alone but if I were to film my rides I'm sure you'd hear me chatting away to myself, don't know how you manage to ride in silence 🤫 🤭😁
I remember doing marches and runs along the canal as a rekrute from OCA Isabella in den Bosch.
Also camping out in the Drunense duinen and occasionally frightining recreational people when we came out of 'cover' from the sides of the paths. 😁
I'm really happy you're back on the saddle!
Please read the blog post
This was my last ride *before* I had open-heart surgery. I am back on the saddle, just not that long yet.
@@BicycleDutch I wasn't aware of that! I hope everything is fine. Stay strong!
Very nice example of how cycle paths work just fine as multi purpose paths if traffic densities allow it (and pavements are not there). But you can see (nearl) all these pedestrians know how to use them. Best of luck on the slow hard climb back to full fitness!
Greetings from Portugal. Love those landscapes!
I am watching when building bike :) Thx for video.
I press all my thumbs !
The dunes are a great place to go 'uitwaaien' and enjoy the 'purperen hei'.
Even music in the operating theater?
Couldn't the Netherlands do more good things.
Glad the operation went well and you are recovering.
I don’t think the personal music in the operating room is very common, but it is really nice to have a personal touch in an environment that is otherwise not at all ‘you’. I only heard the first two lines of the song though.
@@BicycleDutch But the thought it's nice. When I was a child on the operating table they made me count. To this day I dislike needles and numbers. 😉
Tam bir bisiklet cenneti holand 😘😘
All the best for your recovery, how do you get to these places to start your rides
Thanks. I cycle, this started 200 metres from my home. Other times I go by train and get a rental bicycle.
@@BicycleDutch nice :)
Please go to Kaatsheuvel (Horst), Snelfietsroute Waalwijk- Tilburg. The Route is ok..but the crossing at the Horst is the worst.
Excellent long enjoyable ride at a good pace! Question: at 2:05:19 is that a sign prohibiting bicycles? Please explain.
It does not prohibit bicycles. It's to indicate that the cycling path comes to an end there, because from that point it becomes shared space.
What teddyyyyy said. That sign means "end of the protected cycle path".
Drivers are allowed to use the cyclepath to park their cars on te right side
@@picakiaak No, they are allowed to park on the right side of the *street* . It is no longer a cycle path at that location.
3:44 Aquon does water research, I think they have a reason to be there.
Not if they only drive to the nearest road and leave the area...
@@BicycleDutch Maybe they came from that installation at 2:54 don't know what it is, but it looks like it has something to do with water. And they took the easiest way out.
One of the pro's when you work for "het waterschap".
@@JacobBax It is a spillway for high water, it can flow into the low area to prevent more uncomfortable flooding elsewhere.
It is situated at the beginning of the 'Afwateringskanaal' between 's-Hertogenbosch and Waalwijk, that already has the function of getting rid of too much water.
جميل جدا رائع جدا😙😚☺🙂
Question: do you or others get anxious riding at night with no lights in sight?
As a woman my answer would be "it depends". Usually its already dark when I return home from work at night during wintertime. That feels completely safe cause many people are cycling with me. But when its late at night I avoid quiet cyclepaths without clear sightlines...like the countryside. Our government tends to install lights as much as possible so thats not a problem. Its being alone and you can't see if someone's hiding (like in bushes or something)....thats what gives me anxiety. But if you stay on the well lit busy roads at night you are perfectly safe. There is always light....our bikes have their own lights after all.
so nice to see these uderway paths with no graffiti. it's hard to believe people can be this civilised!
Graffiti is considered art. Do colors hurt you enough to call it "uncivilized"?
@@yumi419 a lot of stuff is considered art even if it's ugly. and when it's ugly it hurts me
@@yumi419
Only good graffiti could be art. Most of it is just 'messing about'.
Mooie tocht, alleen jammer van de matige beeldkwaliteit.
Dan moet je 'm even op 1080p60HD zetten. Dan is het beeld haarscherp.
Would it be possible to change the color or position of the logo once and awhile to prevent burn in of the tv.
Nice video. I often ride around and through the Loonse en Drunens Duinen.
Time to ditch that plasma. You will earn your new tv back with the reduction on your energy bill.
@@rutgerb oled has the same problem
@@palantir135 oh, I didnt knew. Thats too bad.
I remember my old plasma, it got burned really bad.
