Thank you for not wearing weird black surgical gloves to make this. I don't understand why so many gun tubers look like they are about to give a prostrate exam.... But on another note- my first duty weapon was a 10-5 with a heavy barrel and aftermarket "target" grips . This was in 1987 back when revolvers were still the main weapon of LE- carried the SWC "FBI" load. Actually was quite effective round. The early 9mm loads were awful. Switched to a Beretta 92 in 1991. Still have the old wheelgun.

I served in vietnam and the model 10 smith/wesson in 38 special were carried by air force crewman, like on a-6's , f4 phamtom, spotter planes. The army issued the 1911 45 acp 4th inf div. Pleiku S.vietnam.
It's a Bit Rough for a Handgun from the early 1960's... But then again, it was in Ethiopia... Royal Tiger isn't really known for selling the Best Surplus... That Revolver is pretty cool none the less... Great Video!...
I once got a Victory model UK lend lease for 60 some bucks and it was very rough finish and locked up. After 15 years in the safe I finally restored and refinished it to look and work real nice. They were obviously from India or Pakistan when under British influence.
I bought a grade C bodeo from them. All parts matching, double action worked just fine but for some reason single action would not. All It needed was a good cleaning.
@eltelboy8492 that's a good idea, I may do just that, I'll probably have to get some hand checkering tools to do that, but it sounds like fun for sure, thanks!
That will be a Cheap Fix... And they are Simple and Very Easy to Work On... You shouldn't have a Problem... I always liked what they called The "Bull Barrel" over those "Pencil Barrels".... I'm not sure if I still have a Model Ten around here or not... I'll have to look... Your Video might have sparked a Newly Found Interest in Hand Ejectors, M&P's, and Model 10's for me.... Haha!
@jasonbuck489 very cool! Yeah, I've always been timid about working on revolvers mainly due to inexperienced, but I think this will serve as an excellent learning experience.
Been selling guns for 3 decades, that is $125 gun in my shop. People, look around. I appreciate the "challenge" but a true very good condition 6" 10-5 is a $300 gun right now and only if it works
@jewyork718 last one I got in was a trade in and sold for 225, a rossi with box and docs at a show, without box and docs it would probably be a $200 gun or less. For all the people having problems with this I just purchased a smith model 64 and 10 both 4" barrels in g-vg condition off a very well known forum for 600 total mainly because I was an hour drive away, willing to meet in the middle and pay cash. Keep paying gunbroker prices and ignore what real people sell there guns for when they don't want to pay fees to gunbroker and ffl fees for transfers or shipping Keep in mind a non ffl cannot ship a handgun through usps and currently fed ex and ups disallow non dealers from shipping handguns. Now people lie and use them anyway but if they read the fine print if caught they forfeit their guns and face penalties
Suggestion: before attempting anything too radical, try removing the grips and boiling it in distilled water for around thirty minutes, dry it and check for function.
@@The_Casual_Collector Very well could be, having been in that Theater years ago, indigenous troops were not diligent on cleaning,. And the sands over there are exceedingly fine. And remember to use a water displacing oil after boiling.

@brownwrench it's roll stamped .38 S&W Special, which is .38 Special. If it was roll stamped .38 S&W, yes that most certainly isn't equal to .38 Special.
Love my Model 10. Was part of the lend lease program many years ago. Thanks for the video and I'm now subscribed.

@danschneider9921 very cool! Thanks for sharing that. I love to hear the history on these old guns and those who carried them.
That "FBI load" performs all out of proportion to what people usually assume about a .38 Spl.

So your department had old revolvers? I have a couple 10-7 revolvers and know they were a single year production in the late 70’s 77 I think.

@TomSherwood-z5l interesting, funny you should mention that, I have a S&W Victory in another video that I got from Hunter's Lodge.
I had one that got a chunk of lead down in the trigger workings, blew it out with a can of air, works great now
