    • @GerardBarkandJack
      @GerardBarkandJack Месяц назад

      It's necessary if you want to avoid premature strap wear and tear, particularly on softer weaves and with watches where the pins are too close to the case.

    • @HotelBravo556
      @HotelBravo556 Месяц назад +5

      Seriously. Just feed it in at a perpendicular angle to the case.

    Is it better to use curved or straight spring bars with nato straps? How do you prevent spring bar failure?

    • @GerardBarkandJack
      @GerardBarkandJack Месяц назад

      You can't prevent it, either while using a strap or a bracelet, but thats the whole purpose of a two-pass strap. If a bar fails you won't lose your watch.
      I've never personally liked the curved spring bars, but I know people who use them, each to their own I guess.

  • @alfieakaronaldog
    @alfieakaronaldog Месяц назад

    Sorry Adrian but they look awful and pin buckles are last century and unsafe for watches.
    The only good thing is there is no gap, but that is just all the more reason to spend more on fitted straps.
    Do it properly and have fixed lugs.
    There also needs to be better straps for fixed lugs. They could be more substantial with a deployant clasp.

      Well, the boring watches are the ones that most people gravitate to eventually, Rolex explorer\submariner and iwc mark series.
      You should look at iwc Portugeisers and perpetual calendars as they have a lot more interesting dials
