- For this video I am going to be taking you around my latest filmarena pickup of the Joker on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. It contains three Editions two Blu-ray and one 4k and also three very different steelbooks for each release. I will also be sharing a story about how hard it was to actually get this edition into my hands. An absolute NIGHTMARE.

I am a huge fan of the insidious movies but I have to admit I heard very bad things about that movie. Hopefully you will enjoy it yourself. Can't wait to see it

It can be very frustrating John but the more I think of it I did get it for an astonishing price and as you can see in the video it's in relatively pristine condition so I have little to complain about. It is frustrating that the numbers aren't matching but the good outweigh the bad. Thank you as always for stopping by my friend

Excellent video as always Keith. So hard to choose between Heath ledger and Joaquin Phoenix in their portrayal as they were both phenomenal.
I'm still leaning towards Heath Ledger but taking nothing away from Joaquin Phoenix who was phenomenal in this movie. Both of them worthy Oscar winners.

Nice set right there keith...it's worth buying some nylon gloves to use when your touching steelbooks and other editions that would show up fingerprints!
I really need to get something like that Steven because a lot of these filmarena Editions your fingerprints badly show on them. Like I said in the video the paper almost feels like silk.

Hello, I hear you and I agree, I like my collections to match up and be complete. I'll think about it too much and can't stand it LOL. You mentioned your days are all over the place. I just got back from Las Vegas, trust me my days are all over the place. I was drinking for four days straight and Vegas was over 110 degrees all week long, In New York New York in the casino there was a pub called Nine Fine Irishman. That's a cool looking set, however I'm sure your thinking about what was actually in the original set? Sorry to say, but as collectors and the money we spend we like and need our purchases to be correct and accurate to the listing. Thank you for the video.

As for the Joker edition yes it's very unfortunate that I didn't get the original Editions but having said that I did get it for very cheap and as you can see in the video it's in perfect condition. Unfortunately for myself I need my numbers matching and I don't get it with this release. You live and you learn

Rewatched this on the massive IMAX with Laser GT screen at Leicester Square, London in Feb 2020. It was a great experience. Had previously watched the Blu-ray of it at home.
If the 4K picture quality is any indication I can only imagine what it was like in IMAX. I say it looked absolutely extraordinary.

For me Matt the numbers have to be always matching. I don't like custom editions. I will actually try and hunt down the other two editions. There is no way I will ever get them but I will try. I am almost certain I heard the sequel is going to be a direct musical. I was under the impression it was going to be. Maybe I missed read it. It'll be interesting all the same. Hey Keith, another great upload, I loved this film and looking forward to the the next Joker flick. The music you use at the start of your channel is fantastic, reminds me of a John Carpenter movie. Or did you compose it yourself? another one of your talents perhaps?
I would love to take credit for the music in my intro but unfortunately I am not that talented. That is indeed a John Carpenter score and it's from Assault on Precinct 13 which is one of my favourite themes from him. A huge thank you for stopping by my friend

It's a collector's thing Chris. Discs don't come in to play. I actually own the movie 5 times 😆 🤣
How does someone put this together with different numbers exactly? I assume these sets bought directly from Film Arena have matching numbers? What's the point of having mismatched editions together if not just to make money? Seems they didn't make a profit anyway, so I'm baffled!
Believe it or not Tim but a lot of people on eBay sell the box separately and they break up the entire edition. So I'm presuming the person that's sold me this edition rebuilt it himself if that makes any sense but he couldn't get the matching numbers. He should have put that in the ad but he didn't and I think he knew what he was doing. It's such a shame but the great news is I was able to get it incredibly cheap and as you can see in the video it's in perfect condition.

It's all down to money unfortunately. It's why I always want my numbers matching because so many of these Editions get broken up

Yeah it really is a shame. But the more I think about it I got it for so cheap and as you can see in the video it's in imperfect condition. So I can't really complain too much. But it is frustrating. Thanks for checking it out Glen
Nice1 Keith. Every now and again I'm reminded just how serious a collector you are ! The amount of hassle (and expense) you have to go through to get your hands on some of these releases is one thing...but a release like this ? ...a "special, special edition" grouping three individual special editions into one set ? As I say...serious collector ! 🤩 Some absolutely incredible artwork on display here...pretty much everything ranges from "really good" to "wow, that's incredible !"
As to the movie itself...yer, it's superb and Joaquin Phoenix deserved every accolade and award thrown his way 😉
I've only seen it once (at the cinema) but I'll be watching it again very soon...on my humble, standard, Blu-ray edition 😁
I can't say I'm excited about the prospect of Joker2 being a musical and featuring Lady Gaga...my expectation is that it will be terrible...but I hope to be proved wrong ! 😉
It's always great to read comments like this when people get me. There are so many people out there questioning why I buy three Editions for the same movie and I'm always telling them the same thing it's nothing to do with the disc themselves because i already have the movie on 4k it's down to the edition and the artwork and of course the rarity Factor plays a role in it as well. I don't know what it is but I feel so fortunate that I am one of only 500 people that can actually hold this edition in your hands. Of course it has to be a great movie for me to go out and buy such an edition and it doesn't get better than the Joker. Just like yourself I am so intrigued to see the sequel and even though I wasn't thrilled about hearing that it is a musical I can't help but still be somewhat excited for it. Well at least that is something Roy. I knew there was no way they could open a HMV without selling any movies. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later
I bet you did the ‘joker’ dance when you finally got this after all that messing about Keith. I think I would’ve given up when it ended up getting returned back. The guy who sold it to you didn’t have green hair and a pale face did he? Because he must’ve had a cheek to pull that stunt on you my friend. That would have boiled my piss too tbh. Still, what an incredible set you have here. Fantastic. Easily my fav movie of 2019. I have the standard slip 4k edition I’ve never seen anything close to this that you have here, it’s beautiful. And I have had the same thoughts about the Batman idea, and could they had made more of it or followed this up? It would be interesting no question. Enjoyed this watch, cheers bud.

My god it was such an ordeal to get this in my hands and yeah I have to admit there was a bit of dancing going on when I had it in my hands unfortunately it was short lived when I realized my numbers were not matching. Having said that I have little too complain about when you consider how fantastic this edition looks. But your story about getting this release. It almost sounds like a Zavvi story with the customs.

I have the same feelings about the sequel. This movie is so good that you can't recycle it if you do a sequel (I'd rather not have a sequel). But if you do one. Go completely nuts and do something original. Not a big fan of musicals. But I would really like Todd Phillips to surprise me with something original
Hey Robert. I am almost certain I did say it in the venom video how much I love that movie. I am a huge huge fan of I believe it or not. I absolutely hated the sequel though
As for the Joker sequel like I said in the video I am not sure if I'm happy that it's going to be a musical but it is something very different and change can be sometimes a great thing. I will definitely check it out and you never know you could exceed the first movie. It'll be very hard but it's happened before.

Amazing edition Keith and i feel bad about the numbers, i remember when that happened with pet sematary, but i think you got lucky and able to get the completed part. The customs guys here literally turn up to work in a clown car, such a feckless attitude to everything here and incredibly dodgy. I got something recently from arrow to my main adress and they said nothing for weeks, said it was sorting in the site, got in contact and said they were sending it back and told me nothing, and arrow received it back after a month. I will make sure everything goes up north now so they get no money and no stupid delays for their arbitrary reasons.
It's absolutely ridiculous. For the seller to send it back and do nothing different and for Customs to accept it just gets you wondering why the hell they did not accept that the first time. Then on top of that try to get 60 Euro out of me for a customs charge on a mistake that they made. You do sometimes wonder who is running things up there. But as I said thankfully I was able to get my money back but it will definitely be the last time I will ever buy anything on a Facebook group. It is just not worth it in the end.

Wow, Keith, what a rigmarole to get hold of this movie, I'm really sorry it's not what it should have been. You have every right to complain. It's a nice looking box set though. I enjoyed this portrayal of the Joker, very dark and sinister. OMG, I had no idea the sequel is going to be a musical. Not going to lie, but that has put me right off. What are they thinking. It's going to be a joke, no pun intended. Anyway, as promised my top 10 greatest sequels ever made.

OK Gary I can safely tell you now that seven of your 10 are in my top 10. Mad Max The Road Warrior, The Dark Knight, Empire, Superman 2, Top Gun Maverick, T2 and Aliens. Aliens being my number one. I knew we would have a lot of similarities. My other three would be Halloween 2. My next two might be surprising to you but 2010 the sequel to 2001 A Space Odyssey and Dr Sleep.
@@millerman9991 You know, I really love 2010, a lot of people think it's boring but I love Roy Scheider and Helen Mirren. Roy was a great actor, when I was watching Jaws 2 yesterday I thought how much I miss him another great sequel. Got to be honest Dr Sleep wasn't one of my favorites, but at some point I will watch it again. I knew we would have a lot of the same, great stuff. What is the next top 10 I can do.
Well seeming we done our top 10 worst remakes why don't we do our top ten best remakes. That might be a lot harder to do. It will definitely require a bit of thinking

Unbelievable, what a story. Those arses from customs are always such a pain in the bottom. It sucks that you're often having problems with customs, packages getting lost, wrong editions being sent to you and all kinds of other problems you're having. Even though it means you've always got some amazing and interesting stories to tell, it still sucks.
I'm actually wondering how these custom sets come about. They're being sold with matching numbers, so where do the other Steelbooks come from? Two Steelbooks do have matching numbers, while the number of the other Steelbook matches the number on the box. These boxes come with three Steelbooks, so what happened to those that were originally inside this box and where do the other two Steelbooks come from? I can't imagine one person losing two Steelbooks, another person losing the other Steelbook and the box and one person selling his half of the set to the other person to end up with a complete set again. I really don't understand how someone can have a set without matching numbers.
Hey Patrick. I was thinking about doing a video on this very subject just to explain how things like this happen. You see it happening on eBay quite a bit when people buy these Editions complete with matching numbers and then they end up breaking the collection up and selling each piece separately including the main box and that's how you end up getting custom releases like this. It's why I find it's so important to have the numbers matching because so many of these sets get broken up and the number are even more limited because of the fact of them doing that. Like I said I will never buy directly from Facebook again and I will try to be more careful in the future. The great news is I was able to get this set at a remarkable price. Thank god I did because I would have been really pissed off if I didn't

Do not hate me for this John but I'm not a fan of the Godfather movies so I never picked them up on 4k. I heard they look phenomenal. Maybe I should give the movies another go and see if they grow on me

Hopefully someday I will give them a go again and maybe if I can get the 4K release cheap enough I might take a gamble
Hi Keith, just a heads up, I had a similar customs experience when buying direct from Arrow films recently. Since July there's a new IOSS form sellers from outside the EU including UK have to fill in. Arrow didn't bother never admitted their mistake and finally after eight weeks I got a refund following about twenty emails where they tried to fob me off. Soured me completely off them that I'll never buy direct from them again.so be careful . I got the impression that they just didn't want to honour their sales prices.
It's very strange but I never want to buy directly off arrow Video. I've only ever done it once and it was an unpleasant experience and I said I would never do it again. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all that. I don't know about you but I hate having to constantly send emails. It is very unprofessional and it's not going to do them any good in the long run. A huge thank you by the way for letting me know. I think it all be confirms now that I won't go near them. I will just buy from Amazon like I have been doing. At least you know your covered with Amazon
@@millerman9991 Hi Keith, I agree with you completely about Amazon their customer service is great if there is a problem which is rare. Funny about Arrow because Second Sight and Indicator are always well packed and prompt. Heard horror stories here on RUclips about people in the UK getting Arrow's new Bruce Lee 4K box and it arriving loosely packed and with dented corners.Also just to let you know HMV in Dublin opened without any physical media at all no 4ks or Blu-rays or dvds.So don't waste a journey for nothing. They are supposed to eventually be stocking them but who knows. All the best for now.
I am thinking about purchasing that Bruce Lee 4k Blu-ray edition on Amazon today even though I am not a fan of martial arts movies but I'm hoping this boxset might get me into them. But just like yourself I heard the horror stories and sometimes Amazon can be a bit lazy with their packaging as well. So I am not sure what to do. Yes I heard about HMV and them not stocking any movies. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Hopefully they will stock them in time
