I agree with you what you talk about talking to people who are stressed out. Worrying about grades doesn't help me to get through the school. I believe that as long as I work hard constantly, grades will come along. Thank you for the video!
Love how thorough and honest your videos are they honestly really help me. I have anxiety and my mind is constantly racing, I’m hoping this doesn’t effect me when I start dental school. Any tips on managing stress/personal life with study life? I feel like I lack balance
I’ll be applying to dental school in 21, your videos have helped me prepare even further. Great work man I hope to see more videos from you when you are officially a Dentist!
You deserve a much bigger audience than you currently have. Do you think you'll still be making these types of videos once you've officially established yourself as a full time dentist ?
Thanks Scotty. And yeah I made a whole video on some tips for it that I think could help a bunch. But basically the number one thing is to get a study schedule with the right materials and stick to it. You only want to take the DAT once. So study like you can't retake it and you won't have to! Good luck my man you'll crush it
Definitely. Normally I get about 5 workouts in a week. The only time that I don't is the weeks were we have multiple exams. That only happens about twice maybeee three times a semester
Any books you recommend someone who is interested in dental school? I’m a dental assistant and I love it so much I want to be the big boss! I’ll be applying for dental school in the next couple years.
I have actually been looking myself for some decent books to read and haven't found anything. There are a few podcast out there...they seem to focus on business tactics or practice strategy which is cool but it won't apply to me for another 3 years ha. Good luck with applying and all the DAT studying! It's a long process but definitely worth it
As of right now I'm really interested in OMFS. If I can keep my class rank and gpa about the same as they are now I think I'll be able to be competitive when I apply
I personally have a 3.3gpa/ 20dat applied to 15 schools, 5interviews, got accepted pretty late in the game in February to an expensive private school. So its possible, but definitely more difficult with a lower GPA, and average DAT. Keep your GPA up, take high-level biology, get over 100hrs job shadowing, do something awesome for volunteer work, I feel like my volunteer work was probably what got my interviews for me.
Not at all Chad. My freshman year I finished with a 2.9. I got all my laziness out and learned how to "do school". Get an upward trend going and you can turn those few low semesters into a strong talking point in interviews saying you learned how to excell in the classroom through your mistakes. Good luck and thanks for the support brother
Congratulations Trevor!
Thanks! I always recommend you guys to anyone who asks for DAT tips ✊
Right on! Thanks Trevor :)

Congrats Bro
Do you think you had time to work out at least 3-4 times a week? Even if it’s for about 45-60 minutes?

Hey man, I wanted to ask if you're thinking about specializing or continuing as a GP. Thoughts?
As of right now I'm really interested in OMFS. If I can keep my class rank and gpa about the same as they are now I think I'll be able to be competitive when I apply
How did you pay tuition, did they give you scholarships??
I received some small scholarships, but the majority is paid for with loans
Congratulations on completing the first part of your journey. I would say you deserve a cigar, but you might not agree with that bit 👍😅
Haha strike up an extra one for me ;)
Trevor West DDS Haha one won’t hurt you sir 😜😎
I ended with a 3.4 GPA as a freshman in undergrad. Not to proud of it, but had family problems 2nd semester. Should i be worried? Love your vids man.

Dentistry seems like a great career choice minus root canals and fluoride which seem to be a big issue......Watch documentary Root Canal.....
What documentary is that?
