Great tip on getting this wood from Dollar Tree! Loved this tutorial!
Thank you!!! Yes, in using paper, the possibilities are endless:)
Great tutorial! Exactly what I needed to see as I prepare to do my very first Glowforge project for my earring business! Thank you so much!
Beautiful job and very detailed tutorial. Thank you😊
Thank you!!!
I’m waiting for my xtool d1 pro to come in and have been watching a lot of tutorials. This is the first I’ve seen like this. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try it!
I assume you can do this with the D1 also, but it is a diode laser and the one I used is a CO2 laser. Let me know if you try it and it works on your new laser (when you get it). I have seen so many great things about the D1!!!
Very nice!! They turned out great!
Thanks so much! These were so easy to make and the possibilities are vast!
Instead of wax paper - since it stuck after the heat pressing the top coat, maybe you could try a teflon sheet or thin silicone sheet? I don't think that would stick. Curious if that would have fixed the bubbling on the green paper...
I love the idea of the thin silicone sheet since they have no texture! Thanks for the idea.
Beautiful work!!! I have read the recommendation on the paper transfer, and it says do not use with a laser. Have you encountered any extra fumes or burning of the wood?
I have noticed that instruction as well. A lot of people use this and I feel much safer using a paper-based product than a vinyl based masking material. I have not noticed extra fumes or burning of the wood. There are definitely WAY more fumes when doing acrylic than in using this paper. But if you have concerns, I would understand and would search for a masking paper made specifically for lasers.
Thank you so much . Have a great day.
Hi Marilyn what setting did you use to cut that dollar tree board? Have you covered any of that board with the dollar tree fabrics before? I covered a hobby lobby round with folk art metallic paint I want to cut earrings out. Let me know your setting thanks.
Thickness of .09 inches, speed of 225, full power.
