@@Aeronaut.18 They are soooo good, they are chewy and soft with a candy coating on the outside that breaks easily and the filling almost melts in your mouth. And they taste like whatever flavor you make them. Raspberry, chocolate, matcha, vanilla, lemon, etc. They can be pretty difficult to make because If even 1 thing is slightly off, it can ruin how the cookie bakes. So that's probably why they are so expensive to buy.
@@Tierbaby Wow thanks! That sounds really awesome, and I wish you the best of luck in making your own. I've actually found them at a Walmart for 5.99 a box though so it's worth a look
One trick is to make themed ones. Different designs and colors. Snowmen, red ones with a santa belt, flag colors, heart shaped, etc. It makes the price seem justifiable for customers because of how special they look.
I wouldn’t fall for that, at all. I’d just be annoyed and overwhelmed and choose something else. In my opinion, simple looking cakes and cookies are far more appealing😎
@@Violetta-ql8mg I wouldn't call buying them under those conditions "falling for it", I wouldn't consider it some devious trick. If she put more effort into the design, it really does justify the price a bit more. She doesn't have to go crazy with it, it can still be simple and elegant.
I absolutely LOVE macarons! It is the costly prices that usually hold me back. I know the prices are reasonable considering how hard macarons are to make. However, I will splurge on special occasions for them. My favorite things to order are both macarons and any chocolate or other sweet pastries. PS. I wish the French bakery I went to would lable their macarons flavors like you do 😭
For me, macarons are an occasional treat. They're quite expensive to make, and therefore pretty highly priced at my local bakeries. I would love to have them more often. I hope this helps!
As someone who was lucky enough to try a lot of macarons, even though I love them, I would avoid them in bakeries since they tend to be pricey. I understand they are priced as X because of how time consuming and challenging it is to make them, but when theres cheaper, bigger alternatives my eyes end up looking there
Learning how to make them is hard actually making them once you know how is surprisingly easy. It’s something people just love so they’ll pay the extra penny for them. Crème brûlée is another very easy to make thing that’s excessively over priced. Just make friends with a hobby baker and they’ll happily make you macarons if you tell them how tasty they are!
@@makaylajones3673 Do you eat a lot of high sugar and sweet things? I use too and they didn’t taste too sweet then. Lessened my sweet intake and suddenly everything’s really sweet XD Could be different tastebuds too :)
It depends on the type of meringue this is used. I use Swiss meringue to make macarons and they aren’t really sweet. I’m Asian and we use the term “not too sweet” to compliment dessert
Macarons, like bonbons, are a small, but expensive treat. They're something you buy as a gift or for a special occasion. Offer a variety of flavors in pretty gift boxes in different sizes. You can let people pick out the flavors themselves, so you don't have to worry about different preferences or allergies.
Seconding gift packs. Even when people are paying more, the more substantial number in a 4 count box for 20$ or whatever still feels more internally justifiable.
Maybe having a couple of staple flavors and some flavors on rotation could help. If they don't sell super well, having too many options could be overwhelming to customers.
I agree with most regarding the price of them being a turnoff. Usually I get some kind if danish (almond, cheese or other fruit) to go with my coffee ❤
macarons are my favorite thing to get from a bakery (along with cannolis). I think as some people pointed out they’re just expensive relative to what you’re getting, and they’re one of those things where you either really like them or don’t.
You should advertise that they are gluten free. I didn’t know they were until my husband was diagnosed with celiac disease and he loves pastries so we were happy to find out about macarons!!
I adore macarons. Sometimes the only thing preventing me from ordering them would be the price, but I love them so much. They're so aesthetically pleasing and I adore the texture of them and the variety of flavours and colours you can get them in. Yours look amazing!!!
I'm a pastry chef and I have noticed they're not as popular as they used to be. No one asks me for them anymore. There's also a local French patisserie in my town and macarons are their least sold product. So sad. I love them!
well, maybe not pricing them in a way that you have to sell both of your kidneys to be able to afford 1 tiny cookie would have made their stay on the market more sustainable.
It’s the price vs the substance you actually get. Like I love them but I’m not paying $8 for a two bite cookie. Also pre/factory ones don’t taste as great so I usually prefer fresh ones
@@Ballerheiko this price is there for a reason. Otherwise it would not be worth to make, as they are time consuming and expensive to make too. It's how it is, and nothing is for free.
I adore them but they are soooooo expensive 😢 I also love softer flavors like lavender, lemon, rose, etc. Seems like some people make such sweet ones these days! If a set of 4 is a good price I would definitely try them!
For me it's also all the sweet flavors. I enjoy the fruit ones (lemon, raseberry, blood orange, blueberry, etc.) because if I wanted chocolate I'd get a brownie. Unfortunately most places usually only have lemon
As someone who loves macarons and tries to get then whenever I can, while price is a big sticking point, for me, I'm more inclined to get them when the flavors are experimental or my favorite rotating/seasonal is in. The macaron specialty bakery I go to regularly changes out some of their flavors or even has character macarons that increase my likelihood if getting them. I think the fad has definitely passed, but having great quality and selection will definitely garner you repeat regular customers.
I feel like they're great at a place known for its coffee/tea. Because they aren't filling like a typical pastry, they're more of an accompaniment to other food & beverages. The hmmm I could get the specialty latte, or I could get a pour over and add a macaron for sweetness. They're a replacement for a sweetened beverage not a pastry.
I love macaroons but as many has commented here, the price is high for what you get. When I buy cakes at a bakery it’s usually Princess cake or Budapest roll (love the classic version with mandarin slices or the newfangled one with raspberries). I live in Sweden and we are huge cake lovers! I like that we can buy a whole cake, a roll that is for fewer people or a single piece, even if it’s a cake that’s usually sold whole.
I work at a French bakery, and we make giant size macarons that are $5 a piece, no tax. I think with the price of almond flour, it is well worth the final cost. It is a big macaron! It is one of our best sellers!
That’s a good price compared to other places. It’s usually $5 for one average size where I live. I’d buy the giant macaron over any other pastry in a heart beat.
Yes! I can get behind this! I look at the portion size in relation to price when I order anything. So, I would feel like I was getting my money's worth if the macaron was huge. 🤗
But also remember, yes, it's a good price considering the ingredients, but 5$ is still a lot for one or 2 bites of a treat. And we as people have been so conditioned to "bargain " shop
I would definitely say a lot of people love it based on texture. It does taste nice but the texture is what makes them amazing due to it being crunchy, soft and moose at the same time. You don't really find a lot of foods like that
Same… They look like I want them but then my mouth gets them and is so dissatisfied/disappointed. * NEVER TRIED THESE ONES * these ones look so good and I saw a few flavors. I’d love to try them again, especially from this bakery!
They are my favorited and i have heard many oeople say the same. However, they sell very expensive. I think the price deters people from buying often and only leave themfor special occasion. I would say stop selling them everyday and have them available like once a month, holidays and soecial orders. I that will drive yhe demand.
I also agree that the element of choice is probably preventing people from buying them. If I can’t choose which flavor to try, I’d rather be able to buy an assortment for a great value or I will just pick something else entirely. Lilit the choices and rotate out the featured flavor and people will have an easier time choosing AND be motivated to try the limited edition flavor before it’s gone
Absolutely agree! I buy them quite rarely, but in a place where I do it after all, they have only 4 tastes. I’m just not able to choose from larger amount in other places, so in other bakeries I prefer other products
They are reasonably priced for their level of effort, but I don't think the final product is ever worth all that effort! Maybe I haven't had an excellent one, though. I'd rather have a mochi!
True Maybe I just haven’t had a really good macaron yet but for all the work it takes to makes them they should definitely have a more pleasant taste imo.
@@lynnecarnivale6414 mochi is a japanese rice cake with ice cream in the center. the outer layer is commonly coated in powdered sugar and has a dough like texture. very delicious sweet snack, i’d definitely give it a try, but it’s not for everyone! hope this helps

I always look for macarons at a local bakery!! Love to see when they have some tea or floral flavors. It’s a bummer when it’s just super sweet options. These look beautiful!!
Here in Nigeria, we have others pasteries that sell out e.g eggrolls, chicken/beef/fish pies, sausage rolls. As a child, i grew up craving macarons as i saw them in movies and always wanted to taste them. Then i did as an adult who could eventually afford them and crazily i didn’t like how they tasted so I'm currently on a thrill of croissants and whatever stuffings in it, love them.😅
I also had seen them for years but could not find any locally. When they became super popular in recent years I finally got the chance to taste them and I was so sure I'd love them, but I was kind of disappointed after trying them. They're not terrible by any means, but I guess I had built it up in my mind that they would be heavenly. Now I think for many people macarons are about the aesthetic quality. They're "cute" as far as foods go to the point that there are stickers and stationary in a macaron theme.
I always buy macarons from a local vendor at our farmers market every Saturday! Luckily the price from her macarons are pretty good, so I can buy them. I love the variety of different flavors and when she experiments on new flavors! My favorite is her churro Dulce de leche!
I'd never had macarons until a couple years ago. They were wonderful! It's the price that's kept me from buying them since. I noticed you have a cotton candy flavor, and that would be hard for me to resist, but likely I'd only try it once and opt for something with a better price:size ratio after that. Those certainly do look good though... I love how you have them displayed.
I eat 3 macaroons once a week as ‘self care.’ I’ve been doing it for a couple years now. I have found that out of all the flavors that are offered, no matter what I try, I always go back to pistachio. In fact I got a text from a friend today that their fave coffee spot has pistachio macarons back in stock. He’s a good friend who truly understands me. 💚
Jackie, you are so correct! It is my opinion that your opinion is the best one to have🤣 pistachio Macarons are the best flavor ever no matter how many i try. I’m so stoked your fave coffee shop has them back in stock! Eat an extra one for me! Ps. I am adopting this self care routine ASAP ROCKY 😂
Macarons have became insanely widely available last few years. I remember there didn’t used to be any at Walmart 5 years ago to now there being every flavor at any supermarket. It’s gonna take time for people to discover, experience, and fall in love with a pastry. Once they do they will notice the quality of big retail vs fresh bakery 😊
I only buy macarons on special occasions and always in a box with ten of them, mostly of different tastes. I won't buy one macaron with my coffee in a coffee shop, but the ones I buy 3-4 times a year are absolutely delicious and I think I'll never stop having them as celebration sweets
I love them, especially trying unique flavors since they are expensive. I've started prioritizing new experiences as worth the cost/calories vs something I've had a lot of over the years. I would love to come to your bakery.
All of us that have to eat gluten free LOVE when a place has macarons! They’re one of the few sweet treats without a slightly chalky texture and taste 😊
Rarely are they ADVERTISED as GF though! I would think that would really help! Personally I can't have them unless everything was wiped down in between, but plenty of people are on GF diets rather than allergic and they would appreciate the indication.
@kyliecowan3879 even if surfaces are wiped down the oven they're baked in can have massive cross contamination risks so they can't be labelled gluten free
Macarons are beautiful and delicious (I love to make them myself) but store bought/bakery macarons can be so expensive that many people automatically assume they’re out of their price range (which I’ve found they almost always are 🥲).
Croissants are my favorite thing to order at a bakery. They're extremely laborious to make (for a small quantity) and it's totally worth it to just buy them.
Gorgeous! Try selling to decorators, they would make great toppers for events or cakes. If you have a lot of items in the same flavor, little bags for events would be an idea
I love small sample sized treats, not macarons or cookies but palm sized slices of cakes, fruit tarts or mousse domes. When i used to go to Porto's in LA they'd have a whole case full of different desserts that never costed more than $4 a piece. I could buy a bunch of stuff and have a nice sit down sample tray. Plus when it came time to order a bigger thing I could be comfortable ordering something new because I knew what it tasted like at a reasonable price.
Macarons are literally my favourite… but yea there’s only a few I’d order - mostly vanilla and tart fruit ones since they always are the best for me! Yuzu ones are my absolute favourite ❤️❤️❤️
I remember them being really popular when i was in highschool like 15 years ago, it's been a while since anyone has really cared for them, at least in my vicinity.
@@DubiousDubs True, but for "hundreds" of years they've been a higher class or upscale dessert. They've never exactly caught on with the common person. Most likely having to do with the price & portion of that specific pastry. You'll see it's popularity increase at certain times now because of social media. It's a "postable" food item. It's popularity comes & goes. Unlike muffins, bagels, cupcakes and doughnuts. Those have been & will remain classic pastries. They'll never go out of style 🍩🙌🏼🤤
Where I live, macaroons are for tourists and not locals. They're a cute and sweet gift that are pleasing to look at even if the flavor isn't your cup of tea, so they make good gifts. Other than that, it's not your first pick when you walk into a bakery that has other yummy goods to offer. It also doesn't sit well with my coffee (or tea) personally.
I get fresh plain croissants, a sourdough loaf and/or a good seed loaf from my local bakery❤. I take my croissants seriously and this particular place really doesn’t disappoint, and all their loaves are amazing. I’m not much of a sweet tooth, and it shows that few customers are. Walking in there past 9am you’re lucky to find a croissant left over. By 4pm most of the tarts and macarons are still just chilling there, untouched
my favourite is a croissant almost cut in half; in between there is cream cheese, fresh blueberries and on top it’s sprinkled with baking sugar pretty simple yet so tasty I can’t get enough of it and that bakery changes the berry depending on the season of the year!
I love macarons but they tend to be way more expensive than other baked goods so I just find it more convenient to buy something cheaper that still tastes great.
The bakeries i go to never have them so i never thought about them too much. But the Bavarian "Krapfen" (roughly translated a jelly donut) is amazing, especially in carnival season, because of all the special flavors
I think you pretty much nailed it- they "had their moment". It's always difficult to track food trends and fads but you can still make macarons one of your hot-ticket items with promos and marketing
I try to choose things that are more technical to make or something I don’t make often. Macarons are finicky so I always pick them whenever out. Def one of my favorite treats!
I love macarons they're so good, my husband will buy me some on occasion but usually when we go out to our local bakery we tend to grab me something more nostalgic like flan or chocolate mousse pie
I love macarons ❤ they are the perfect consistency, small, not over powering flavors but just enough to taste and want more, you get a small crunchy but soft and chewy texture as eating it, and they are endless with different flavors I could eat them all the time :) they are perfect to share or when you want a small treat at any time too. I would of bought a lot if I was there at the opening :)
In our local bakeries SWEET BREAD is very popular! It has a unique taste. Not sure but I believe it could be called Portuguese Sweet Bread. I'm sure there are recipes online. @@kelf114 The gluten in wheat flour would make it too dense.
I LOVE macarons, they’re my absolute favorite but usually they’re so expensive at bakeries.
I was just about to say the same thing!!! They really are😭 that's why I'm learning to make my own😅
I've never had a macaroon, what do they taste like,?
Yup!! Literally costed me 11-15 bucks for just 3 macarons 😭 I was so shocked seeing those priced
In my opinion, simple looking cakes and cookies are far more appealing😎
love this idea! I would love some Halloween themed ones :) pumpkin, ghost, etc
That's a really good idea. I would love heart-shaped ones and that would be really cute to do like a cloud shaped one for the cotton candy flavor.💖☁
I love macarons but the dairy in them messes up my tummy. However surprisingly croissants don't bug me so much so I order them the most.
As someone who was lucky enough to try a lot of macarons, even though I love them, I would avoid them in bakeries since they tend to be pricey. I understand they are priced as X because of how time consuming and challenging it is to make them, but when theres cheaper, bigger alternatives my eyes end up looking there
I don’t know about where you live but in Canada Costco sells good macarons
@N08R76H and I'm sure they are much much cheaper then at a reap deal bakery
@@angelamarie727 yeah, they also occasionally go on sale
Learning how to make them is hard actually making them once you know how is surprisingly easy. It’s something people just love so they’ll pay the extra penny for them. Crème brûlée is another very easy to make thing that’s excessively over priced. Just make friends with a hobby baker and they’ll happily make you macarons if you tell them how tasty they are!
@@N08R76HSame in the US! Costco macarons are amazing, they’re the only way I can eat them without a hole in my wallet and a still empty stomach
Try supplying them to hotels, wedding/party planner companies. You don't open expensive shop without already having a market for your product.
I just cannot handle how sweet they are.
really? i feel like theyre not that sweet at all hmm
@@makaylajones3673
Do you eat a lot of high sugar and sweet things? I use too and they didn’t taste too sweet then.
Lessened my sweet intake and suddenly everything’s really sweet XD
Could be different tastebuds too :)
I recommend getting one with a fruit filling its less sweet
well im pretty sure that its mainly some macarons but personally i love them but it’s probably cause i love sweets lol
It depends on the type of meringue this is used. I use Swiss meringue to make macarons and they aren’t really sweet. I’m Asian and we use the term “not too sweet” to compliment dessert
I love them! And think the variety and colors are amazing, but the price often keeps me from sampling them too often except for special occasions
Same here!
THIS!
I agree with most regarding the price of them being a turnoff. Usually I get some kind if danish (almond, cheese or other fruit) to go with my coffee ❤
I LOVE MACARONS! It’s so delicious but it’s always so expensive so most of the time I end up going for another dessert.
macarons are my favorite thing to get from a bakery (along with cannolis). I think as some people pointed out they’re just expensive relative to what you’re getting, and they’re one of those things where you either really like them or don’t.
I’ve only had them twice, not my favorite. But I would love to visit this bakery ❤️
You should advertise that they are gluten free. I didn’t know they were until my husband was diagnosed with celiac disease and he loves pastries so we were happy to find out about macarons!!
I’m just now learning this too! 😮
Great idea. Customers understand the high price tag associated with gluten free and purchase items based on this.
They are not all gluten free I also have celiac
Why not, they are made with almond flour @@annac7292
They’re made in the same kitchen as other gluten products so I’m not sure she can do that
I adore macarons. Sometimes the only thing preventing me from ordering them would be the price, but I love them so much. They're so aesthetically pleasing and I adore the texture of them and the variety of flavours and colours you can get them in. Yours look amazing!!!
As soon as macarons blew up here, my local bakeries jacked the prices up 2x. It’s just not usually big enough for the cost
Macaroons are still on my bucket list to try.
Better get on with it, apparently they've had their moment. 😂
You mean macarons? macaroons are a completely different thing
@hemapooja1 I love them BOTH. 🥰😆
@@cc1k435 same
I'm a pastry chef and I have noticed they're not as popular as they used to be.
I love them too! But their are pretty expensive for something not as filling. /lh
Macarons are gross! Too sickly sweet and too expensive, so they are not worth it.
I adore them but they are soooooo expensive 😢 I also love softer flavors like lavender, lemon, rose, etc. Seems like some people make such sweet ones these days! If a set of 4 is a good price I would definitely try them!
I DO
My favorite are lemon, rose and matcha😘. I never found them in lavender. Maybe because lavender as flavor is not something common in my country.
Whenever I go somewhere with macarons I tend to buy one. They always taste so good and theyre the perfect small sweet snack. I love them
I work at a French bakery, and we make giant size macarons that are $5 a piece, no tax.
For a big one I would do it
I want a big macaron!
But also remember, yes, it's a good price considering the ingredients, but 5$ is still a lot for one or 2 bites of a treat. And we as people have been so conditioned to "bargain " shop
I was surprised that people like them as much as they do when i tried them.
Just comes down to opinion 👍
I’ve only tried chewy sugary ones, almost gummy with frosting
I would definitely say a lot of people love it based on texture. It does taste nice but the texture is what makes them amazing due to it being crunchy, soft and moose at the same time. You don't really find a lot of foods like that
I don’t like them. They’re ok at best.
Same… They look like I want them but then my mouth gets them and is so dissatisfied/disappointed. * NEVER TRIED THESE ONES * these ones look so good and I saw a few flavors. I’d love to try them again, especially from this bakery!
I love macarons so much and I buy them so often here in France
This is solid advice.
All good ideas esp the limited flavor. could also do assorted packages of a dozen/ offer a deal for a dozen
I tried them in France, boy that got me hooked, superb.
HI. Can you share what a mochi is? Thanks. Have you had a sweet bread before?
God bless you.
Lynne🍃💜✝️💜🍃
True
Maybe I just haven’t had a really good macaron yet but for all the work it takes to makes them they should definitely have a more pleasant taste imo.

I always look for macarons at a local bakery!! Love to see when they have some tea or floral flavors. It’s a bummer when it’s just super sweet options. These look beautiful!!
My neighbor makes macarons for my family and I, they're delicious😋
In exchange my family makes them dinner sometimes😁✨
That sounds lovely ❤
I love macarons! Perfect for my wheat allergy. But I always have to ask what is in them because some bakeries add wheat flour.
Have you tried the cookie dough croissant?
@@AshtonStands4Awesome What??? They make those? Tell me you're lying. I need to find them
I’ve had good macarons and not so good ones. The difference was stark though so maybe if you get a chance to try a really good one perhaps try again.

There were NO macaroons in this video.
Ooh yes pistachio is my go to as well. I actually bought pistachio syrup for my coffee too. It’s so good.
Yes pistachio macaron is the most satisfying macaron flavor.
I like plain with chocolate ganache filling, but only if the ganache is not too sweet.
Macarons always bring me back to 2017/2018 ❤
Macarons have became insanely widely available last few years.
I won't buy one macaron with my coffee in a coffee shop, but the ones I buy 3-4 times a
year are absolutely delicious and I think I'll never stop having them as celebration sweets
I used to love them but now I buy individual-sized cakes. The family likes that more.
I’m obsessed with macarons! They’re one of my favorite baked goods. If I had more money I’d buy them much more often.
I love them, especially trying unique flavors since they are expensive. I've started prioritizing new experiences as worth the cost/calories vs something I've had a lot of over the years. I would love to come to your bakery.
Congratulations on your bakery!
I have to eat GF, however I'm also allergic to Almonds and eggs - sucks to be me! lol not lol
@kyliecowan3879 even if surfaces are wiped down the oven they're baked in can have massive cross contamination risks so they can't be labelled gluten free
Not suitable for a ceoliac though as cross contamination is huge in a bakery so can't be labelled gluten free
macarons are my favourite ! i really like ones that are unique/odd flavours
They are sooooo sickeningly sweet! My pancreas hurts!
If I had this shop near me I would go to it every time I can 🤩
Orange cranberry scones with a citrus glaze is always my go to!
She catches her mum every time 😂😂😂❤❤❤ just love it when her mum has confused look huh
Macarons are beautiful and delicious (I love to make them myself) but store bought/bakery macarons can be so expensive that many people automatically assume they’re out of their price range (which I’ve found they almost always are 🥲).
Your display is gorgeous! I love macarons and make them frequently, but I always love trying them from other bakeries too.
I think its hard to have just one moment as a classic dessert like macaroons, they're cute and tasty and a show of skill, they're beyond trends
Macarons are one of my favourite desserts!
I remember them being really popular when i was in highschool like 15 years ago, it's been a while since anyone has really cared for them, at least in my vicinity.
Unlike all the "trendy" pastries, muffins, bagels, cupcakes, & doughnuts will never go out of style. Those are classics 👌🏼
Macarons have existed for hundreds of years- they were created by Italian monks in the medieval days. That's not exactly what I'd call a "trend"
I love lemon bars and pecan bars ! But your macaroons are beautiful !! 🐣
By 4pm most of the tarts and macarons are still just chilling there, untouched
my favourite is a croissant almost cut in half; in between there is cream cheese, fresh blueberries and on top it’s sprinkled with baking sugar
pretty simple yet so tasty I can’t get enough of it
and that bakery changes the berry depending on the season of the year!
I love macarons but they tend to be way more expensive than other baked goods so I just find it more convenient to buy something cheaper that still tastes great.
Thank you for including the title 💛
If I could afford it (and if I physically could), I’d take your entire stock of vanilla macarons because those things are mad delicious
You just can't beat a soft cream bun! They're my favourite and the absolute best! Neenish tarts too, yum! 😋❤
The bakeries i go to never have them so i never thought about them too much. But the Bavarian "Krapfen" (roughly translated a jelly donut) is amazing, especially in carnival season, because of all the special flavors
I love them 💕 Yours are lovely as well as your beautiful bakery 😊
Thanks so much 😊
I think you pretty much nailed it- they "had their moment". It's always difficult to track food trends and fads but you can still make macarons one of your hot-ticket items with promos and marketing
I try to choose things that are more technical to make or something I don’t make often. Macarons are finicky so I always pick them whenever out. Def one of my favorite treats!
