He can sing with distortion but when they perform live IV will do harsh vocals with Vessel

What you need is the really good filmed live version. It hits hard.

This is the live version you're wanting to see. He even does more runs live than the album version. About as good audio quality you'll find on youtube.

This song live…….OMFG….. They smashed this in Sydney. IV helps with the distorted vocals, but the highlight is the soaring chorus…… the lyric is everything “let’s get swallowed whole, I want to go where nobody else will ever go”

To go along with the Metalhead Musing, when my grandma was deep in Alzheimer's and couldn't remember who exactly her family were or even string together coherent sentences, the thing she did remember was old old radio and tv jingles. That was how she attempted to communicate and soothe herself. Before Alzheimer's, she was quick to break into those same jingles whenever it struck her fancy.

I saw them live last year, and as far as I've experienced - also on other footages - his high screams are surprisingly quiet and low in the mix. I guess it's intentional, but the thing is that in a few songs he also do some basic false cord screaming, kinda mid-low stuff, and THAT is pretty loud and brutal live. If you scroll to 4:10 in this footage, it's a perfect and good quality example of what he's capable of. It was my favorite moment of the show: ruclips.net/video/yEtxn9Pz8Wo/видео.htmlsi=-3CUVIm7xcQWt5vh
Edit: also the "blegh" at 4:47...

i love hearing your insights and opinions in these videos! i agree with lots of people in the comments saying hearing this song live is unreal. i'm not good at describing what exactly vessel does differently live but i know that i love it 😂
looking forward to when you eventually get back to them! sleep token fans' favorite pastime is watching other people listen to sleep token, lol.

I love Vore, the lyrics are great, the distortion and mellow bits go together so well. Now Ascensionism is next I'm so excited for you to hear this one, amazing lyrics, amazing music, best song on the album in my eyes.

I do say save Euclid for very last, meaning, listen to the rest of the albums first. They do call back to past songs in that song as well as many if their's. Their songs are a story, and Euclid is essentially an "ending" song it's very emotional.

Maaaan not just women as monsters, but women as deeply sacred & powerful icons! I L🤍VE the concept of femininity taking back power from ~The Patriarchy™~ through monstrous & supernatural means 🔥🔥🔥

This is the next metalhead musing! Good God! I couldn’t agree more. There’s a book I read called ‘Women and other monsters’ and it’s a fascinating read on the idea of myths and legends, their meaning and women being something more than mother, maiden, or crone, but monster 👹 I love it. Thank you for this amazing comment 💜

This is song is so esoteric for me as most of their songs are. But because of the subject matter it feels even more dangerous than others. Don’t get me started on the left field chord progressions. The japanese koto instrument only enhances their synth wave influences. Pure alchemy!

Also, Vessel tends to write in a way that foreshadows in the beginning of songs what will be relevant at the end. Listen to the bass line in the beginning of Granite - then listen to guitar breakdown section. They're the same. Even though it subverts your expectations in how you got there, you almost know what's coming next because he's already snuck it in there at the beginning. He's so fucking talented 🫠

Whenever I hear someone playing Clair De Lune on piano I am immediately transported back to my childhood. I feel like I am physically present in that time as my mother played it endlessly when she was learning it. Even just thinking of it brings back memories. Music is in a way a frozen moment in time. Sometimes it is great and other times not so great but overall important to our well being as humans.

Well, I get you about this not being your favorite Sleep Token song.
And actually, the reason why I do not get crazy about Sleep Token, is ... I am never quite sure if what they do is kind of genious, or kind of boring. Lemme explain this ... I am always waiting for this moment, where I hear this special thing, that makes the song different, to what I heard before. And I heard a lot in my life. So I am totally with you on this moment of surprise. And I can not always get it with Sleep Token. And sometimes I have the vague feeling, that this might just be a piece of candy that has all it's edges rounded up with the saliva of production ...
Of course, I think they absolutely know what they are doing. I am just not SURE if I should like it or not.
I am not sure, if it is a paradise bird, or a polished turd. This said, all paradise birds AND turds are polished these days ....
For this song, I had the idea, that it is SOOOO different to what I thought was absolutely stunning and new and I thought was musically eye-opening decades ago. I had to think of Morbid Angel's "God of Emptiness" as an example. I just listened to it after this song. ROUGH in sound. Somehow DATED sound. Maybe should be remastered (I nearly NEVER say this about a song.) BUUUT .... nothing, absolutely nothing was written like this song before, it had such a special vibe, it was SO surprising to hear from a death metal band, it was the one in a thousand songs that strikes you and makes you a fan of the band, even if you don't like ANY other song of them.
This is what I miss from a band like Sleep Token, somehow. And I am not that old fart that can not appreciate anything after the 90s. I LOVED and ADORED Periphery's "Wildfire". And I instantly became a fan of the band after "Bloodeagle" already. And if the band would have never written any other good songs, I would still adore them for these masterpieces.
I guess, the album is dead. Which is sad. I loved the classic concept albums and rock operas, starting from The Who, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull etc, up to bands that still try to do this today. I adore that. But in the end it comes to the single song nowadays. Sad but true.
And this one did not do it now.
Sorry, Sleep Token. But they can ignore this, because they have so many fans, it is totally OK not to like most of their stuff.
Best regards, my Scottish dudette, I really, really appreciate your reactions still, and I guess, this will not stop anytime soon.
Stay as you are. Well, except the really bad sides of your personality.
    Just joking, LOL.
    Love ya.
    Best regards,
    Martin.
    🍻😎❤

Guess what's funny about it? The Morbid Angel song was faded out, too. Which was SO unusual for death metal.

First a song called Whore then a song called Vore, do we have some songs called Chore or Lore or Sore or Bore or Spore or More in the pipeline?!
This isn't a bad song by any means, but in the context of the album it feels kind of beige. His high pitched harshes in this song are great!
