    Binder ring - that's what I use! Almost makes me feel legitimately organized. LOL! This is a fabulous way to have your inks swatched, with the bonus that they are all on display at once, a downside to the binder ring for the right-brained. ;) I also think your idea of adding Copic matches is genius.

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 года назад

      That is the thing I don't love about the binder ring solution. If I can't see them all, I tend to forget which ones I have! Thanks for watching, Lindsey!

    I like what you've done with the magnets. Another option is a rolladex setup. Easy to flip thru & remove&replace while figuring out a color scheme. And adding new colors would be a breeze. For some reason that's where I thought you were going in the earliest part. Thanks.

    • @karenkreider5998
      @karenkreider5998 3 года назад +2

      A rolladex is also a great idea, Barbara!

      I love that idea! That might be just the solution I have been seeking!

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 года назад +1

      I love this idea too! It has the added advantage of a very small footprint. I like to be able to see all the colours at once, which would be a challenge with a rolladex, I think. Thanks so much for watching!

    I've used the coin pockets for a few years and love that I can add new swatches fairly easily. However, I always think it's nice to see others organization ideas. Thanks! 💖

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 года назад +1

      I have used those as well, I found that I didn't refer to them as often as these, because I was too lazy to get the binder out! lol! Thanks for watching, Vicki!

    Great idea! It's so helpful to have them movable. Being able to pull out a selection of swatches also means that it would be easy to keep a record of what was used for a project by taking a picture.
    Please, Ardyth, help us with a recommendation of what are the most useful colors to get first. Even mini pads are $4 apiece, so the whole collection of 68 would be, um, $272!
    I put my standalone dies on 8x10 magnet sheets, self adhesive, that I stick to 8x10 black foam core sheets (both available at Amazon). These stand up in a bin to make a sturdy flip file that I keep next to my die cutting machine so they are easy to find and replace. I could use some of those sheets to organize swatches, too.

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 года назад +2

      You are so smart - you're right about taking photos of what colours were used for each project.
      As for the inks, it really depends on your preferences. If it was me, I know I use the Foundations and Life of the Party collections the most (both come in minis). I love bright vibrant colours! But if you prefer more earthy, warm shades, I would start with the Paradise Found collection (also comes in minis) - I guess I would say pick your favourite rainbow colours - and then you can mix them - I did a whole video about that, too ("Get More From Your Inks", thumbnail says: Full Set Syndrome, Get Over It). It really allows you to get so many more colours from the ones you have! Good luck! Thanks for watching!

    Scotch Removal Tape is great. I used washi tape and purple tape in the past until I discovered this line from Scotch. I love the idea of the magnets!!!

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  3 года назад +1

      ooh, I'll take a look. I often use 1 inch post-it tape, but I wanted to be lazy and not measure, so the 1/2 inch purple tape worked for that! Thanks for watching!

    All of your swatches are lovely. Ink swatches give me the same frizzle of excitement that I get from paint samples. So many possibilities.
    What I have learned is that I’d you want to keep a set of swatches, you better have chosen the kind and brand of paper you will be working with. If you are as haphazard with paper selection as I am, swatches will not be of use. I just have to test as I go. Maybe one of these days I will actually settle on a paper standard.

    I love this idea! I'm with you, CP are my favorite inks, though I don't yet have as many as you do 😂. I have all of ink my colors swatched out, but it's so hard to try to match them up with the system currently have. Plus, my organizational heart loves the idea of looking over at a rainbow of squares that are also functional. Thank you for sharing the coordinating Copic colors to the CP inks. I hadn't thought to do this, but I can see where it would be really helpful. I just might have to find the matches to my colored pencils as well.
