a beautiful iconic piece of history. I always wanted one when I was a kid but it just never happened. Soon i will get one and finally make the dream come true. Great bike!!
I grew up in the 80s in Dublin and a small number of kids in my estate had Raleigh burner.I always wanted one .Two of the kids had the gold one. That was my favourite.I had to settle for a cheap 70 pounds bmx at the time.I think burner was maybe 250 or 300?
I miss my tuff burner but I changed everything on it , unfortunately when I left home my mother give it away to the paper lad lol .... Still haven’t got over it and it was 30 years ago..!! Great video thanks ❤️
Great bike.. thanks for sharing. I'm 46 and never stopped riding 20"bmx bikes much too the bemusement of my wife and others. 🤣 hoping to collect this very model bike tomorrow myself 👍
Glen Whyte thanks for comments. Men born in the 70’s we are all big kids. Didn’t have PlayStations etc so had to go out and enjoy ourselves and we all thought we were RAD!!! Enjoy the bike
Raleigh have relaunched the yellow and blue tuff burner in February 2023. For £600. The gold and black one looks cool as well. It’s a hard choice now to decide which one? 😂
I’m 51 and I’d love one …. The early 80s was a magical time and like the Gentleman in the video says as you get older you do start longing to keep old of your childhood 🙂
I had the tuff burner, then the chrome burner which I added black skyways. My mate had the super tuff, I thought it looked amazing, we went everywhere on those bikes, fantastic times, I'm seriously thinking about buying one, 54 is just a number lol
I appreciate the sentiments. I grew up in England and had an Ultra Burner. Posting because I now live in San Diego and I ran in to Bob Haro 4 months ago at the taco shop by my work and had a nice chat with the guy, legend!
im nearly 54 i bought one of these a couple of years ago too, ive just pre ordered the new 2022 burner i hang them in the garage and just look at them :)
i rided a bmx for the first time in bout 20 years last week couldnt believe how small they are they seemed way bigger when i was a kid i guess cause i'm so used to the size of mountain bikes these days.
When I left home I came back for it about 5 years later only to be told they had give it away to the paper boy haha, still haven’t got over it and it was 30 years ago 👍
i had a bmx in this style, gold and black, but i don t think it was a raleigh, maybe it was a custom creation from my local bike shop, gosh i squezzzed my nose flat on that shop window, every day after school, and now i want my beauty back, too
Hey im just like you mate as im touching 49 and ive also bought a super tuff burner , a chrome aero pro burner and a fabulous chrome skyway replica in my collection .
I always hear British men of a certain age talking about the Raleigh Grifter. Why?? When there's the way cooler Burner? A BMX bike with gears is ridiculous.
Had a grifter when aged about 9 or 10 as BMX’s hadn’t made it here. Grifters were heavy as hell and the twist grip gear change used to take skin off inside off your thumb 😀

And what a stunner you bought, I'm the same 50 a d back on a bmx. Good on you .

Back in the 80s, it was the Blue frame and Yellow mag wheels was the one I wanted..I wish Raleigh would reissue that one..
I remember swapping a mate for the yellow mag wheels

I was torn between this & a 35th anniversary aero pro (blue/white)
I choose the aero just because the deal was right. Both lovely bikes
116fletch can’t go wrong with either. Enjoy 👍
Reddevil007 I brought a MK1 tuff home too 🤦🏼♂️🇬🇧😎
116fletch wish I’d kept my Raleigh Chopper and Raleigh Grifter

Excellent collection
I bought one myself. Cool design and still the ultimate ride... even for a dude being 46 😂
Martin Bøgelund Arvidsen 46, just a baby 😀. Unfortunately I have the half century looming in a few weeks time 😥
Well done. I have to admit I am a little jealous. Am gonna take your advice.
Looking for one?
Cool bike brother
Luke Hardy thanks
My MUM bought me the new super burner /oval with gold fork in 1984
It's staggering how much attention my Super Tuff gets when out and about. Me... not so much. 😒
